mount everest. yeah man the peak of this very highest mountain in the world is the place which i would very, very much like to be in. okay i know this is almost impossible dream on my part, and i doubt any true blue singaporean has actually managed to scale up till the peak of everest successfully before. ok let's not always let our mind be too practical yeah? i know it's always good to know what one's limits are, but hehe i also know that it's not a bad thing to dream about doing such seemingly unachievable stuffs once in a blue moon. oh perhaps the scaling of mount everest is overly unachievable that i would be be better off not thinking about conquering it. i can almost feel that everest is beckoning to me - this lure is somewhat strong and man, i'd really wished i could be at the peak to witness that breathtaking view. yes there's a saying that one in four climbers would lose their life while scaling everest, because the locals there believe that everest is a place of the gods and it definitely wouldn't be nice for mortals to interrupt. whether you buy it or not is entirely up to you. and surprisingly, though i'm not a religious person, i sorta believe in this saying. mountains are not formed by gods to fuel man's ambition to conquer whatever nature has in store for 'em, and don't blame anyone should you fail to return - the risks are there, and people ain't called heroes for nothing. haha i keep having this thought that there's a certain aura surrounding the whole mountain range, and the thing is that i don't know if it's a good or a bad one. perhaps it's just a combination of both. this aura, together with the mistique and it's beauty, it's little wonder why many climbers are still willing to pay big bucks just to have a go at everest - regardless of the countless dangers involved.
yeah guess it's after the watching of 'into thin air: death on everest' on channel 5 last night which began to spark all these thoughts within me. it's a sad story of how weak humans are when confronted by the powers of mother nature - but it's more of a reminder that regardless of how detrimental conditions may be, the spirit of the mankind could still have a big impact though things may not always turn out the way we want 'em to be. was hoping to get the paperback version using my kino voucher, but a check at its site yesterday showed that it has no such book on its shelf. fuck it. but nevertheless i'm still gonna give it a shot, and pray with all my heart that its online database is useless and not complete.
gosh, it's gonna be comp club camp tomorrow. *sigh* frankly speaking i would be happier if i was in a sports cca afterall - and that quitting hockey might not be that wise a choice heh. i don't think i would be able to settle into this camp as a 101% computer freak, and the camp facilitators can be well assured taht i won't try to be one too. 180 degrees in com club? that's just as good as telling me that hockey players love to wear their uniforms with shirts tucked waaay in and with tight-fitting pants. sorry i know i'm being biased and overly-stereotypical here, but there's just some things that you gotta admit. i just hope that keith and co would be very flexible with the way they deal with things for a change, though i'm pretty sure that all these would go down as wishful thinking on my part. come on man, it makes lil' sense for a club to have a camp really. and it indeed makes no sense at all if they're gonna throw in stupid things like morning pt and sentry duty. what are they really afraid of? gay rapists sneaking into the college compounds and give the guys a real hard time at our asses? i wouldn't say this wouldn't happen at all, but the probability that we're gonna get raped in the ass is as good as striking the first prize of toto this weekend. oh whatever we shall find out all these tomorrow, but meanwhile joel's gonna bring 2 decks of poker cards along with his stuff so that would mean a hell lot of fun tomorrow night. gee, i really hope we don't have to play strip poker man. =x

omg think i really embarrassed myself today at the movie theatre just now. *sigh* ok was watching troy today, and halfway through the movie (which is 2h40mins long) my bladder seemed to be losing control and i have to run off to the toilet. and i was in sucha hurry to relieve myself that i kept stumbling over the st nicks' girls who were sitting near the end of the row. and after having a long good piss at the toilet i nearly couldn't found my way back to the theatre. i took a slight peek and thought that i entered another show, but apparently that's the correct one and there, i was blocking the way of 3 other ij gals who were wanting to re-enter the theatre. what embarrassment to look like a dork who just lost his way in cine. and that's not the end of the story unfortunately - i was going back into my seat, i was constantly losing balance as i was hurrying, and i think i stepped onto a sngs girl's plastic bag which invited a quick cackle from the sa peeps a row behind me. and to make things even worse i stepped on yuzhe's shoe (which he cursed me for that haha) and finally lost my balance, only to find myself landing up on joel's tighs. yes apparently he didn't require me to do a lap dancing in the midst of the show, and gosh think my whole face really went red at that moment. a 18 year-old sajc dude who can't even make his way in and outta the movie theatre properly. argh.
yeah think i'm kinda broke now, having caught 4 movie shows within 2 weeks. yeah and today was my third time going to town. haha yeah watched van helsing first with shimin and hautzeng, shrek 2 with joel jennie zan and her friend liana, day after tomorrow with zan yuzhe limin peiling and her friend ben and finally today, troy with yuzhe and joel. and guess what, all these took place at the same location - yep you got it right there, it's the infamous cineleisure!! lol come think of it, that place was kinda like a stranger to me back in my secondary school days. oh well, think rvians really lack a life afterall yeah? =x
and yep, sa got their third (and last) championhip this year after our cricket team triumphed over vjc earlier this morning. lol the deputy principal was so excited that she made the news known halfway through our math tutorial over the public announcement system. yes sajc is the cricket champions once again in 2004! and zan was saying like how someone texted in "vjc to thrash sa cricket team" on da american idol show yesterday night. lol now look who's having the laugh now. vjc stands for "victory just comes"? only the victorians would know heh. and yep the rugby team performed as expected that they whacked jjc 40-something to 3 and we're the 3rd-placed team once again. hurray iskandar and co !

just returned home after watching the 'a' div soccer final match at kallang this evening, and i'm feeling kinda strange for the whole of today. think god knows what's wrong with me, really. *sigh* perhaps it's just due to the sajc's defeat at the national stadium today - yeah we lost 1-4 to the mighty victorians. not a bad achievement upon hindsight actually, especially this is sa's first ever soccer final, though all saints know within our heart that this is one championship trophy that we would really like to lay our hungry hands upon. soccer has never been saint andrew's forte, and it's considered to be a miraculous journey that the sa soccer team has managed to bypass all of the seemingly unconquerable obstacle en route to the kallang national stadium. and we're the first team in the tourney's history to have won all of our games before the last final stage. all of the sudden all the wonderful memories i have of the soccer team's progress started pouring into my head - about how good the combination of zhao yuan and winston as our forwards were after they were knocking in goals after goals and crumbling the opponents in the opening matches of the tournament, about how zhao yuan was able to masterfully control the ball and sweep pass his marker easily to put the ball behind the net in almost every single match, about how we managed to have an edge over arch-rivals acjc with a solitary goal from a header, about how louis' 25-yard volley went past the hands of yjc's keeper and finally about how we managed to overcome a 2-0 deficit to steal a win over mjc at the semis. the sa-mjc match has gotta be one of the best, if not da best, moment in sa soccer history.
but i guess that unlike fairytales which always have a nice sweet ending, reality is often a harsh one for one to accept. and yep the sa soccer team was finally brought down back to earth today, after scraping through matches which has more or less brought them up to nine-heavenths. defeat at a final is always a sorrowful experience, no matter who the opposition is. frankly speaking, i think many of the saints would agree that it would indeed take some huge form of miracle for us to beat vjc at the game which they are masters in. skills and fitness alone is not enough to win 'em, really - we just need that additional luck and perhaps some divine intervention for us to gain an edge over the victorians. but alas, that very miracle which we hope for didn't seem to appear today as the sa team was really outplayed and outclassed by vjc. they were speed demons running about everywhere like there's no tomorrow, and they're skillful controllers of the ball too. every single offense movement they make can just end up behind sa's net - yeah that's just how good they are and i'm not exaggerating things. well a glimmer of hope did appear when zhao yuan equalised through a header - in fact, it's a goal which is least-expected as i think sa has never scored from a corner kick this year. but this wasn't really sufficient to put us back into the game. our midfield was sorely lacking, and the defence is really leaky at times. but the sa supporters at the grandstand knew exactly that the players were trying all their best; they went in bravely for sliding tackles outta desperation and louis was forcing himself to continue on though it's so obvious that his feet hurts and he's limping with injury. and everything just went downhill after vjc got the thrid goal in - there was practically no way we could score two within such a short frame of time remaining given their rock-solid defence.
but it was a match well-played, really. although i wished that it would turn out to be us as eventual winners, i think that vjc totally deserved their win today. they're simply ruthless and this killer instinct is only exactly found in teams of their own calibre. or maybe there's really no team which could be anywhere near them - vjc's in a superior league of their own. but anyway, the sa soccer team has done very, very well this year and all of the soccer players (including the coach roland lee of course) has managed to propel sa soccer into a brand new height. well we'll just hope that the miracle which failed to come today would reappear sometime in the future when the next batches of soccer players play in national stadium. it's hard i know, but i know also that saints are capable of achieving great things outta nowhere. cheer up people, it ain't that bad to be runners-up yeah? up and on!

heh i got a new phone this evening at singtel's hello! shop. yeah it's just a cheapo 3120 phone - nothing to be proud of hehe. yes it's supposed to be my mum's cause she was the one who wanna sign up a new postpaid line (she was on m-card previously) but well she isn't too keen on having this new one and yep, she's eyeing my dad's 8250 right now lol. hmm think it's gonna take me some days to get used to a new phone yeah, especially if it's colour-enabled now and yep it's right about time that i go around sourcing for games to keep me entertained during boring lectures whahaha! :)

whoa. i just returned home from njc symphonic band's concert at victoria concert hall and i'm totally shagged now. it's called etude xxix and yup guess this is my first concert at such a formal place like vch. heh i'm feeling very cultured now. :) well though i'm not musically inclined at all and i hardly understood what i was listening, i think that the whole affair was a good one except with one or two glitches here and there. me and ber bought the tix at the normal price, but we managed to get the upper seat after the intervals thanks to him haha. guess everyone from njsb was good, and especially marcus. he was doing several solos using his flute for some pieces and boy, that dude's really a music talent. pure class. he's my classmate while i was back at nj in the first three months, and hehe i'm indeed proud to know such a musical prodigy. marcus you rock the world man! yeah and after the whole thingy i went to eat at lau pat sat with ber before catching the last mrt and lrt ride home. *phew* i'm so lucky that i'm just in time.
and yeah earlier i managed to pass my napfa test with a silver grading!! lol this is nothing to great to all of ya, but lol i'm feeling extremely joyous over this cause i've never thought of attaining the silver grade especially since i realised how i suck at running 2.4km thanks to the first napfa test i had a few weeks back. my timing improved by around 16s compared to the last napfa test, and lol i managed to hit the 'd' grade with 8 seconds left to spare. yeah i missed this 8 bloody seconds that last time, and it just feel sooooo great to get rid of the time deficit. :) but the first five items i had was kinda crappy - yeah it isn't that bad afterall, but the results was a lil' inferior to the previous test. shuttle run was 10.5s, and i only did 5 chinups this time round; but i think my sit-and-reach improved cause mr ho helped me to stretch around a lil' before that item. haha he's prolly the best, though not the most laxed, pe teacher that i would ever have in my whole academic career and it's really great to know that he hasn't given up on the s92 dudes though our physical fitness really sucked. heh must dedicate this very silver grade to sucha wonderful 'cher. cheers~ :)
was thinking of updating my blog after watching van helsing at cineleisure with shimin and hautzeng, but guess laziness got the better of me and i'd rather rot online than type furiously. but it's a nice show really - with mythical creatures like the werewolves, vampires, dr jeckyll, mr hyde and the frankenstein monster all thrown in, it's really something worth checking out if ya don't have anything better to do. 'kay the storyline was kinda good, but guess van helsing and co. got waaay too lucky for waaay too much times and guess this spoils the show a little. but then, how else do you expect an unkillable dracula to be taken outta this world in the end? heh if you wanna know how, just head off to the nearest theatre near you and the answer would lie there. :)

today's definitely a day of mixed blessings for all da saints outta there; yep and it concerns the boys and girls basketball team. alright to start off with the bad news first, the sa girls lost to hwachong by 20-odd marks (it's 40-something to 20-something for sa and hc respectively) yeah think hwachong deserves to be the girls' champions cause i guess they really were performing to a higher standard as compared to sa. ok it's not to say that the sa girls didn't played well at all, but guess they were kinda demoralised by the rather huge difference margain which they have to close up throughout the game. the defence wasn't tight set tight enough to neutralise hc's attacks, and there's definitely much work to be done for the finishing of our girls. it's kinda disappointing i have to say as a supporter, for we were missin' some rather simple shots and the sa team committed themselves to marking the opposition too eagerly. guess it isn't really that bad to end up as runners-up afterall eh - at least we improved from the 4th position we had last year haha.
now for the good news: the saints boys basketball are the new champions of 2004! it's indeed great that we've managed to shake off the defeat inflicted on us last year and yep it's one more championship trophy in the bag for sajc this year. :) the guys won hwachong (again -.-") 74-60. you could see the calibre of the saints basketballers from this match - they just belong to a different league from normal players in the tournament. sleek passing and cool finishing were surely their forte, and coupled all these with the blocking of several hc players' shots it's lil' wonder why they won. a very exhilirating game to watch, i gotta admit. well some credits have to be given to the hwachong team too, for they created some chances and had quite a few instances of brilliant play comin' out from there. the number 7 was incredible really with all the agility and accuracy he possess while shooting. but heh guess the best player on the court was our captain huijie (class 03s82) and he deservingly bagged the most-valuable-player award for the whole tournament. this equals to double joy for the number 5 star. lol admittedly things got kinda edgy towards the endgame, for hwachong was really closing in fast and furious with all the runs and the 3-pointers; but lol we're fortunate enough to survive all the onslaughts and went on from there to claim this ever-important victory. well perhaps the only thing that i wasn't really pleased is about the cheering part of this match. the saints sc was like trying to quieten us down when it was time for the hwachong players to take their free throws. ok this is done in the name of sportsmanship they say, and seriously i wouldn't really mind keepin' my mouth shut, if not for the fact that the hc peeps are cheering madly (and distracting our players) when it was time for our players to take their free throws. what rubbish is that from the sc, really. and they think that clapping loudly after a hwachong player is an act of sportsmanship *sigh* but well i don't wanna talk 'bout this anymore - perhaps the scs are just trying to be more self-conscious cause their teacher in-charge is right there beside them.. but then again, basketball is a spectator sport afterall and there's bound to be some jeering and distracting involved - especially if it's the championship trophy on the line. oh well.
and yeah on our way home i received the final score of the rugby semifinal result from iskandar: as expected, we lost 3-48 at the police academy to acjc. but it's quite consoling to know that we didn't lose to the predicted champions by a very great margin heh. *sigh* was hoping that i could catch the ruggers in action and cheer them on, but it must have been fate's working that all rugby matches must clash with bball finals and the soccer finals next week. the ruggers would be vying for the 3rd placing against jjc, and think this shouldn't be too hard for isky and co yeah? :)
well done bballers, up and on we go!

yay the soccer team has managed to reach the finals of the soccer tournament 2004! yes the saints are heading down to the kallang national stadium to face up against the mighty victorians for the championship. yeah vjc won their semifinal match against yjc by 1-0 and we won mjc by 3-2. and the hidden truth behind this scoreline that we actually had 2 goals disallowed, with the linesmen claiming offsides for both of 'em.. wtf.
and i thought mjc was a skillful team. oh yes they indeed are, cause they played fluent passing and managed to put 2 goals past our net in the first half. was kinda frustrating for the saints, cause we're like 2-0 down in the first half and the mjc defence seems to be unbreakable no matter how we tried to pass the ball round the field. yeah guess everyone was almost close to tears when their marksman and captain number 18 scored his second goal - and he really pissed me off with his cockiness during his goal celebration. yeah so what if you've scored again? that doesn't warrant you any fuckin' right to go about showing disrespect to the linesman. man how i really hate him.
and so roland lee decided that it's time to tinker with the strategy used cause it seemed to be very ineffective, and yep the sajc soccer team played using the usual long-ball style. definitely doesn't look as professional as the direct passing style of mjc, but who cares since pumping balls up front is what our boys are comfortable and good at haha. yep and so the cheering intensified like there's no tomorrow - the saints was doing all sorts of cheers to lift the players' spirits up non-stop. and yeah when i say non-stop i really mean it, cause haha sajc is a school famous for it's cheering prowess! and so the guys did their stuff; up comes the first goal, the equaliser and finally much to the disgust of the mjc supporters we scored the third goal. yep and we managed to cleared the 2-goal deficit miraculously to lead 3-2 till the end of the match. the match was kinda tense in the final moments cause the mjc peeps were pushing hard for the equaliser and there was much pushing and shoving around. and that's where all the dirty tricks the meridian soccer players have up their sleeves begin to show up, one by one. first there was a forceful elbow on our winger, and god i think the ref must be one of the most blinded one in the world for not sending the mjc guy off the for the deliberate foul. next up was another wild tackle with the intention of breaking our player's legs, *sigh* it was really unbearable to see them doing such unsportmanly actions while the ref just shows them the yellow card after much protest from the sa supporters - yep and in a fit of anger i pointed my middle finger at the mj players and hurled some vulgarities at them. bloody fuckers who're more suited to the kickboxing ring. and another thing that made me went mad was that the ref gave sa 'keeper tianci a yellow card though it was so obvious that the mj striker pushed him. yet another controversial decision by the stupid ref.
but anyway, the game's over now and i'm glad to know that the whole school would be heading off to the national stadium. whoa guess the atmosphere there must be very great - and to make things more interesting i've never watched any live soccer matches at the national stadium. and boy, the chance of sa clinching more championship is beginning to surface itself more and more with each passing day.
sajc, we rock.

was rummaging through some boxes containing my old stuff just now, and guess what i found - the rim shoot pen from the penz series! lol ok it's supposed to function like a ballpoint pen with black ink, and yet it can provide mindless people like me with hours of fun yeah baby: apparently you can open up the pen (which is at least 3 times as large as a normal pilot pen) and voila, it turns into a single-rim basketball court! yeah the pen itself contains 3 mini-basketballs and you can put the balls on the lever to shoot at the target. yes you use simple projectile motion to shoot the ball in. and of course there's also a miniature net for you to fold down. lol one good thing about the lever is that it's movable, and you can control the amount of momentum the lever can provide while shooting the ball. oh yeah you can also determine from which angle you want to shoot the ball from - just like during a real half-court basketball game. sounds cool, huh! and to think i actually got this pen back in my primary school days when i basically knew nuts about the game of basketball haha. this thing is just waaay too cool and i was having a great time just now trying to shoot the balls in as my mum looks on with that oh-my-god-what-'cha-tryin'-to-do face. didn't knew that mindless shooting can be so fun at times too. heh.
anyway tomorrow's the big match for the sajc soccer dudes - it's been 20 years since they last qualified for the tournament's semifinals' stage and yep they would be facing mjc at the ccab stadium. alright personally i don't know what the pitch condition is like over there, but i really hope that it would be in a lousy state as the sa soccer field cause the soccer players are more or less familiar playing under such sucky conditions. well but iskandar insisted that it would actually benefit 'em if the pitch is good, cause a good quality pitch will generally allow better play by the sajc team. i just hope that sajc's long-ball tactics would be able to break through mjc's defences, though my personal favourite is still the spanish's style of passing game. but then given the pitch conditions the soccer players have right now, it's gonna be almost impossible for any team to have a good flow of passing movement throughout the pitch.
haha enough of this crap.. let us all pray put our hearts together and pray that the saints soccer team can overcome the meridian forces tomorrow. up and on!

had the teacher-meet-parents session this morning together with my dad. lol things didn't turned out as bad as i expected, and i'm glad that mrs lee didn't spill all da beans about how bad my actual attitude is during normal schooldays. well my dad was kinda prepared for this anyway, for i've briefly told him what to expect from mrs lee and warned him that it won't be anything good for a civics tutor to call a parent down. well mrs lee kept telling me not to be too bothered by the dullness and unresponsiveness of the class, but rather to channel all my energy into thinking about what i can do for myself instead of carry on complaining about how the muggers just rather sit back in the class and photocopy down whatever the teacher say into their notes. i kinda agree with her i gotta say, cause i really can't be much bothered about those muggers and well guess it's just down to my poor luck that i've to be stuck in the same class as 'em.
the session today was supposed to be enriching and inspiring for me, but heh frankly speaking i don't think i'm actually convinced at all. yeah mrs lee did counter whatever i say. and she kept assuring me that mr koh wasn't bearing a grudge against both me and joel - but seriously things are so obvious that you'd really to be blind not to see that mr koh is indeed against us. we're just doing our lil' bit to generate some liveliness into otherwise a class which resembles a morgue, and in the end for all our efforts all we get is a "keep quiet the both of you". and yeah he often says this with that smirk in his face. god, how i really wished i could just go up to him and slam his face down on the ohp projector.
but there's still one consolation that i've managed to get from the tutors' report yeah: mdm habibah said that i was responsive and shows great interest in geography. haha, wait till mrs lee ask mr lian about my attitude towards p geog and boy i'm gonna get whacked again man.

the saints soccer team managed to beat yjc by 1-0 today yeah! that only goal was scored by the team captain louis, after a magnificient volley strike from outside the penalty box. no one actually expected that goal to come frankly speaking, and i was stunned for a split second before i finally stood up and clapped my hands for that wonderful strike. and a win here will allow us to face the second-placed team of the other group, which happens to be mjc. although mjc lost 3-0 to vjc earlier, but njc lost to rjc 1-0 and therefore by having a better goal difference record mjc managed to proceed to the semis together with vjc. it won't be an easy semifinal match for the saints, for mjc i heard is a very strong team consisting of extremely talented player. here's some additional information about mjc that i think would be of interest: mjc won njc 3-1, mjc drew rjc 1-1 and mjc lost vjc 0-3. this would not seem to stand out against sa's all-wins' record, but you can be sure that mjc is no pushovers and that their 2nd round group is definitely tougher than that of the saints. just hope that zhao yuan can recover from his foot injury in time to face meridian.
haha was talking to ll last night.. it's really been a long time since we've talked to each other on msn yeah, though we frequently see each other online. there's just nothing much to talk between us i guess :x but anyway yeah it's nice to be on talking terms with her again lah - not that we're arch enemies, but there's far too much things happening between us durin' our secondary school days that really *sigh* make us feel awkward talking to each other online (all the more in real life, heh) she was like asking me frantically and bugging me for my blog addy, but in the end i felt that i wasn't prepared enough to give it to her. not that there's anything 'bout her i've wrote here, but i just think that the time's still not right yet. excuses? yeah prolly, but lol giving your blog addy to someone else is not a reversible process and i don't wanna regret this decision later on cause your writing can be affected by the type of blog visitors you have. that's my logic, and i think many of you wouldn't agree with me but who cares? yeah anyway i'm gonna treat her as a neutral friend from now on; no more emotional outburst or whatever crap from me and lol it's always a great feeling to talk again to someonelse who you've been ignoring for a year plus?

gosh i really think this is the year for team sajc. i just received news that the basketball teams has just achieved dual victory over the semifinal matchups in ccab. yeah the girls won their game by 20-odd points while the guys won tjc by 6 points if i ain't wrong. so it now means that the saints are vying for the dual basketball championships this year yay!! lol the badminton girls too managed to get into the 2nd round too, and i believe that kaiyun and gang is gonna crash their ways into the final round so that they would clinch the fourth position at least. yep it would be good news if they could finish fourth cause the saints are not too strong in the jc badminton field.
we're now reaching the climax of the sports season 2004, and we've already got one championship with credits to the volleyball girls; we're gonna fight for the dual basketball championship next week i presume at toa payoh, and i have faith in the sajc soccer team that they would reach the finals at jalan besar stadium and walk away with the championship trophy. things seems to be looking good for the cricket team as well cause i think the teacher i/c is pretty confident of defending the title. and to top things off mr lian told my geog class last week that the bowlers are in good stead to emerge as winners of the team category. whoa the saints already have 1 championship nailed down and with potentially 5 championships on the line, how could anyone say year 2004 is not our year eh?
way to go, team sajc!

today was indeed fuckin' bad. to start things off i'm feeling especially sleepy and was more or less sleeping my way throughout the day. argh but the worst thing was that mr peh caught me and joel skipping maths lecture cause we were slacking away drinking happily at the cafe. hmm sometimes it's not a very good thing afterall to know so many teachers in the college, and argh to think that he actually knows both of our names. he shouted at the top of his voice and instructed us to hurry off to the lecture theatre - but in the end we didn't go cause it was just plain pointless. c'mon man, even if we were there we wouldn't understand any single shit the lecturer's blabbering about. and moreover our lecture notes are too empty for us to fill anything in so we just decided to just skip the lecture so that we could be spared from the painful agony of attending maths lecture. guess maths can't really be taught through lectures afterall, or maybe it just don't work for me only.
apparently joel is down with cold, and he managed to get da green slip to go home early. he was kinda fucked up i guess, cause he had no appetite at all and didn't even complete his meal while at the cafe. maths tutorial was crap too, with miss tan staring at me and pausing the lesson now and then as i was slowly dozing off. conditional probability, what the fuck's that?! econs tutorial wasn't any good either, cause mrs lee kept harping on how she got to know that i skipped maths lecture this mornin' (both mrs lee and mr peh are econs tutors, so you get the picture.. duh) the most frustrating is that she kept repeating it in fronta me and i couldn't even turn left to ask kaiyun about something. what kinda shit is school turning to man. luckily gp wasn't as bad as i expected today, for i was talking to kaiyun all along about badminton players having menses and mr koh didn't even catch us at all. perhaps he has already given up all of his hopes on me and he can't be bothered to deal with anymore deliquency cases. oh well whatever; not like i give a fuckin' damn about anything right now.

woosh. sajc soccer have achieved yet another victory again, this time against arch-rivals acjc. lol it was a close match really, and hmm guess sajc was the luckier side between the both of them? yep, we won them by that odd goal. 1-0 to the saints yipee!! well today our forwards looked kinda subdued, cause zhao yuan was like manmarked by the ac defenders; practically no chance for him to roam about unlike the match against mi. winston was unable to do anything much today 'cept running around to cause panic and fear within the ac defence - i heard from cynthia that he's currently suffering from a flu attack and yeah could see that he was trying his best to score some goals, though he was closed down quickly by the opposition. ac's especially good today, and boy i really have to give much credits to their set pieces. every corner could potentially end up as a goal, and yeah ac did managed to scored an equaliser back through a inswinging corner kick - but unfortunately the referee ruled that out cause their attackers were obstructing tianci's view. my man of the match today: tianci (he's the sa 'keeper) haha the match before this was the clash between yjc and mi, with yj ending up as winners with a score of 2-1. yeah sajc has more or less qualified for the semis, but they would have to win their remaining match against yjc this thursday to avoid meeting the much-feared vjc. lol frankly speaking i think we could still wallop vj's ass up quite easily, provided if all of the saints soccer team is on hot form.
yeah just returned home from town. kinda shagged now cause me and ber was like going round and round cineleisure to find the birthday pressie for meli tomorrow. lol i still don't understand why did i agree to fork out money for the pressie, cause it's been sooooo long since i last talked to my 'secretary'? heh but i think this money is worth spending, since meli's such a nice girl so i don't have much qualms about it yeah. 'cept maybe for the fact that my wallet is only left with a pathetic 2-dollar note and a 5-cent coin? oh yeah i think there's still one more dollar coin inside, but what difference does it make? nothin' much yeah?
'kay it's time for me to go now.. *grr* there's still 4 more days to go before the weekend kicks in..

ohhh yeah. it's mother's day today and i dined out with my family at queenstown. mmm.. i've gotta say that the bak kut teh there is simply marvellous, and i guess it should be one of the best in singapore eh. well we reached there at around 8-plus, and luckily the stall is still opened for business. the thing i don't like about eating at that particular hawker centre is that it's always difficult for us to make a decision on who should we buy our fruit juices from. allow me to further elaborate this fruit-juice paradox: apparently there's two drinks stall offering fruit juices right next to the bak kut teh stall; one to the right and another to the left. *sigh* the two bosses from the respective fruit stalls would come and bug us to buy from them, and it would make us feel bad should we reject any of them. lol i couldn't really be bothered about 'em anyway cause i believe consumers always have the right to make their own decisions, and to make things seem 'fair' my dad decided that yeah we should get our soursoup juices from both stalls. pretty weird i gotta admit, to have the same type of fruit juice from two different stalls. oh whatever.
went to queensway shopping centre after that to look for my socks. yeah my poor socks are beginning to have patches of holes in 'em after a year-plus of wear and tear, and mum believes it's high time for me to get some new pairs for replacement sake. gee didn't knew that the shopping centre would be so quiet during sunday nights, for i've always thought that it would be bustling with activity 24/7. but hmm i was very wrong today, or maybe it's mothers' day so no one would have the mood to shop around for sports stuff? heck.
and guess what people, it's gonna be the start of a brand new week of school tomorrow. and to kick off everything i'm gonna have 6 lectures in a row. *groans*

argh i'm retyping this entry all over again cause i accidentally closed the window before publishing it. *sigh*
had my napfa test today and boy i was so goddamned pissed off with my results. okay though i managed to pass that friggin' thing with a bronze grade, it wasn't enough to allow me to escape the 2 months pre-ns physical training. yeah mindef has this ruling that any dudes who can't achieve a silver grade in napfa have to book in camp 2 months earlier than their peers to build up their fitness. kinda stupid i guess, but it really does force the guys to train up for the napfa test and take it seriously. my performance for today's test is generally better compared to the practice sessions i had a week ago - managed to complete the 5 stations plus the 2.4km run. god a week ago i wouldn't have believed that i could actually finish the test, let alone passing it heh. i missed the silver-grade timing for the 2.4km run by a mere 8 seconds - yeah if i'd run 8 seconds faster i would be smiling happily now and not fret about retaking the test the following weeks. haha but well completing the whole of the test is quite an achievement for someone who has almost zero stamina like me.. heh think it's really high time to hit the tracks more often and run like a mad kampung chicken.

sajc soccer won mi 4-1 today ooh yeah! guess the homeground advantage did help the soccer dudes a lil' cause it's always a special feeling to have so many saints rooting for you when you're playing in some q'finals matchup. surprisingly, only a handful of mi supporters turned up to witness this match and i guess they must be really feeling kinda let down as there wasn't really any form of cheering heard from their mouths. or maybe it's because the saints cheered so loudly that they can't be heard? oh well this doesn't concern me that much heh. yeah i seriously think that sa soccer has a good chance of lifting the championship trophy after yet another wonder display of technical skills and teamwork today. the winston-zhaoyuan strikeforce proved to be too overwheming for the mi defence, and i think zhaoyuan scored quite some goals with winston providing him with all the pinpoint crosses. if there's anything within the soccer team that sa can claim credit for the successes they've enjoyed thus far, it definitely has to be the efforts of these two forwards. it seemed that both of 'em can communicate telepathically with each other as they seek to tear the opposing defence apart, and zaoyuan's skills is just plain wonderful. his finishing is sleek and his ball control is superb. this not to say that the rest of the players didn't do their job well; in fact they've done really well and the whole saints community is surely proud of the soccer team! haha what's teams like vj and nj when we have two of the deadliest forwards in the tourney. :) meanwhile in the previous match played yjc won acjc 2-1. i must say that yjc really deserved to win this cause their quality of play surpasses that shown by the acjcians. perhaps i'm just biased cause i'm rooting for yjc while watchin', but that's outta the point heh.
and yep didn't catch a single wink of sleep during the night cause i was watching the chelsea-monaco champions league semifinal clash. thought chelsea is goin' to prove their critics wrong when they were leading 2-0 comfortably thanks to gronkjaer's fluke goal and lampard's strike. but apparently their defence couldn't really contain morienties and company and in the end they paid dearly for it. well they didn't lose upon the final whistle, but a 2-2 end result means that they will be missing the final stage at germany later this year. monaco's really a good team i have to say - it's definitely not easy to knock teams full of multimillions superstars such as real madrid and chelsea. heh i think deschamp's men are in good stead to inflict the same kinda damage on finalist porto and bring back champions league success to france.

went to the red cross home for the disabled at hillview area, and the trip there was of mixed feelings. my heart felt very heavy when i started walking through the wards, in fact i was surveying each and every patient there with the corner of my eye though i looked as if i was walking as per normal. learnt from the home's physiotherapist mark that the occupants are suffering from brain damage and that some of them couldn't really control their muscular movmements on their own. it was indeed saddening to see that their bones were kinda deformed, and more so when you see some of them being tied up to their beds so that they won't be going out of the bed on their own and hurt themselves. for once i felt that was indeed blessed as compared to them - yes i may be feeling stressed up every now and then with school work plus the lil' petty stuffs that may be goin' on in my life, but at least i still have that ability to feel such stress and throw 'em all out in this blog. i think this is alot better as compared to them, some of whom couldn't have any proper control of their body. in fact, there's this indian man who kept turning his head left and right continuously. madness, hell no man. guess he really couldn't control that movement of his neck muscles. *sigh* tried talking to people like nasir and ah peng, but it was rather difficult cause sometimes they would response to your talking while most of the time they would just stare into blank space. think i'll really make a bad social worker heh.
but there was some uplifting moments near the end thankfully. at least things doesn't turned out to be that bad as i thought it would be. the female occupants there somehow seems to be more friendly towards visitors as compared to their male counterparts, and some of them really look very normal at all. yeah there's this lady whom huimin and vanessa was conversing with in hokkien, and boy she really loves food. kept repeating about all the different types of food she likes, her bag of multicoloured candies and also the orange which she placed beside her. it's a lil' irritating to be hearing her saying back the same ol' things again, but on the other hand it's good to know that at least she knows what she's talking about. oh food glorious food hehe. of course i understood most of the things that she said, but i just couldn't speak hokkien that well. yeah i have the ability to comprehend most of the dialects yet i'm unable to speak them. "can listen but cannot talk," i kept repeating that to old lady there heee. yeah some of them are really friendly and others are just plain hyperactive. one would even call people over to clap hands with her and lol it's a big mistake to underestimate her strength. saw some jjc people there too, but didn't bother to talk to any of them. guess they can't be bothered to talk to us too, for this is not an inter-jc exchange session. bah.
wanted to return school and catch the saints' crucial rugby q'finals match against rjc. but in the end i opted for the easy way out and went back home instead. lol guess the incentive to return home was much greater, for i could easily take 5 out of the 6 buses available there. yeah that's how close hillview is to bt panjang. managed to get the final score update from zan: we were badly thrashed 3-26. it's always heart-wrenching to lose with such a big margin, especially when it means that the price for a loss would be to face king of rugby acjc in the semi finals. though rjc are favourites to win us, but there's this glimmer of hope within the saints community that we can upset them and not face acjc. anyway this is the saints year afterall, after the sas boys has dethroned the acs ruggers to emerge champions in the 'b' divisions.
guess rugby is a sport that's crucial to the 'english' colleges such as rjc and of course acjc. it's basically the pride of these few jcs and also the feeder schools that we're affliated to. it's considered to be a 'manly' sport afterall, and i guess it would really boost everyone's morale for the rugby team to do well in the later stages of the competition. guess many saints were left disappointed by today's defeat. in fact i heard from zan that perry took off to the sidelines a few minutes before the endgame and cried. he hated rjc in whatever things they do apparently, though i ain't sure what actually caused all these hatred. harlim cried too i guess. i felt sorry for the ruggers really, after seeing their dedication to the sport irregardless of the hellish trainings they have to undergo 4 times per week. man their trainings are almost inhumane, with people throwing up after every session into the drains no joke. sms-ed iskandar just now that it's alright and we believe that they'll bounce back against acjc. let us pray that this year's rugby championship would have a similar storyline of the champions league yeah, with all the underdogs whacking the supposedly-powerhouses hard in the asses.
up and on saints!

econs test today was a big piece of crap for me. think i'm gonna flunk it badly again. well there's nothing much for me to expect since i didn't even touch the notes a single bit yesterday night, and that i was sleeping away like a pig during my free periods this morning though i should be doing some last-minute econs notes digestion. argh can only have myself to blame. think i attempted like 5 or 6 mcq questions only, and i just put the rest of the answers as 'a'. lol i'm not that dumb to leave 'em all blank and score a perfect zero for mcq. at least i hope i can get 2 or 3 marks from all the 'a' answers heh.
and guess what? civics tutor mrs lee is beginning to crack down hard on those who haven't been peforming well at all and lol as expected me and joel were two of the handful. bah guess we're just plain unfortunate to be two of the weakest links in the class - guess it's a jumping down from the top of the uob plaza is a choice worth considering for both of us in order to prevent mrs lee from suffering anymore heartaches hehe. we're supposed to do a compilation of all the things we've done after being released from school on an hourly basis, and mrs lee has even prepared the general format that all of us has to follow. yeah every single detail of what we're doing until the point of time when we hit the bed. lol it's just like we're criminals and that each of our single action must be recorded down in case something bad happens. well i guess garrick's comments summed up everything: "oh my god that's a total loss of human rights."
to hell with life. *sigh*

oxymoronic phrase of the day: gp lectures. the gp lecture i had today was nothing short of crappy bullshit, and it jolly well took up 1h20mins of my time argh. heh only hardcore muggers can endure gp tutorials without losing the battle with their heavy eyelids, and change that to gp lectures - i guess everyone except those muggers mentioned aboved would be knocked out sooner or later. first of all gp content is something that you can't teach, let alone dedicate two periods of timeslots to a lecture on 'em, cause it's simply a case of either-you-know-it-or-not. good for you if ya have the background knowledge of all the things that are going around in the world; but if there's nothing except only f math equations or physics definitions is present on your head, then that's just too bad for you. just head off to the underused sajc library and flip through some of the newsmagazine they have on the shelf, or if you're not into long articles full of americanised words which you find pointless, then just grab a copy of today's newspaper and get a rough general idea of the latest news today. gp is not about the rote memorising of text, so it'll do little help to you if you actually took the bother to grind all the statistical numbers into your head. okay i gotta admit that i didn't do any of these, but seriously i believe that self-reading is the only way to gain gp content effectively. definitely not through lectures. yes you can deliver sciences or even geography concepts through lecturing, but harnessing this same approach for gp is a big no-no cause you'll find 95% of the students dozing off at one point or another.
and the so-called lecture notes we had were almost blank as the teachers expect us to listen attentively and jot down the points ourselves. fine i know this is a step carried out so that moe can't accuse them of spoonfeeding us and i've no qualms about that, but then on hindsight i seriously question its effectiveness. sad to admit this, but singaporean students are just too trained to photocopy whatever they see on the screen onto the notes (think rvhs) and it would be really hard for them to stop doing all these and jot down the relevant points through listening. c'mon man, and the blanks are waay too many for us to fill in and it would indeed be a miraculous happening if no students find it demoralising just by seeing the sheer number of blanks waiting for them to fill up. and all the 3 lecturers went so super fast today that none of us could really catch up and heh i just raised two of my hands up today to signal my surrender. yeah and i didn't bother to lift my pen to write down any shit for that matter. well it doesn't really matter to me that much does it, since i've almost never read through my gp notes. yeah they amount just like a heap of white rubbish stained with black inking everywhere to me.
just some ramblings from the tired me.

a pretty uneventful day to say the least, and the final result of the deportivo-real madrid match left me feelin' kinda down for the whole day. not that i'm a hardcore fan of the madrid team, but i'm just totally crazy about raul gonzalez (the madrid captain). the so-called galacticos suffered their six defeat in the last ten games they've played in, and boy this is extremely contrasting to the bullish form of rivals barcelona who've found form and almost won every single game that were being thrown and them. madrid lost away 2-1 to deportivo, and what makes me more frustrated is that deportivo was fielding a much-weakened team so that the better players could rest enough for the champions' league semis match against fc porto.
zidane was red-carded, yes i'm not cracking a joke here - he really is sent off after receiving his 2nd yellow card for a stupid tackle. the referee was harsh against madrid no doubt, but that's not a good excuse (if you consider that as an excuse in the first place) to account for the defeat to a weakened depor side. seriously if you know the crowd is gonna be very hostile towards you, and that the referee is a complete cockhead, all the more should you be more careful with your tackles. c'mon anyone who've know some bit of soccer here and there would know that zinedine zidane is one of the greatest player to have ever graced soccer pitches, and he's prolly one of the fairest players in the beautiful game. and if he gets red-carded, one could not help but sense how frustrated the madrid players are already. the hitting of a bad patch which could jolly well force them to say goodbye to the spanish championship, the knocking out of the elite champions league by unfancied monaco, the shit that beckham is going through and the many transfer speculation about how ron and becks is going to leave the team - it's of little wonder why the madrid players just can't perform these days at all.
and seriously i couldn't be much bothered about whether becks or ronaldo is staying in the team for the next season - it might prolly be better for them to leave for chelsea so that madrid wouldn't face that much a media pressure from all tabloids around the world (yes, even the singapore new paper too) keep fernando morientes in the side and never let him go regardless of whether he is a superstar or not, he's raul best pal and the pairing of 'em both has been tested and proven at even the highest level. president perez should consider resigning his post too, as i think his policy of splurging astronomical sums of money for the signatures of internationally-reowned attackers while using the forever-unstable defenders from the madrid youth team is not going to work in today's time. certainly, raul bravo and meijia still has a loooong way to go before they can establish themselves as solid defenders. roberto carlos is crap too, for a defender whose primary instinct is to charge up to the opposing goal and attack shouldn't be even considered as a defender as all. *sigh* i really pity iker casillas, given the substandard defence that madrid has to offer to aid him.
it's hard not to get heartbreaks here and there if the team of your favourite player is not achieving what they ought to be doing, but i guess that's football and it's a perfect mirror of the unexpected twists one could experience in the course of their daily lives. guess it's time for me to slack away whatever remains of this weekend and you people have a good night too.

eh i'm supposed to meet yuzhe and swim together at the chinese high pool this evening, but i didn't even get to touch the pool water at all argh. apparently only swimmers with appropriate attire is allowed into the water, and darn i don't think i can match that criteria with what i'm wearing today. yeah they require all the guys to be in swimming trunks; no bermudas no shorts. haha so you all should know the reason behind my failure to infiltrate the chinese high pool. hint: i'm wearing sajc pe shorts. whatever.
managed to sneak into the chinese high boarding school with a pass borrowed from yuzhe's roommate (the sajc lib's head) was kinda fascinated when i began exploring that place. you know those places in the movies whereby you have to tap your identification pass to get through the multitude of doors? yeah, the hostel's something like that. they've air-conditioned study rooms, fountains, whatever sports facilities you can think of (tennis courts, basketball courts just to name a few) and also a foodcourt-styled common canteen. i'm definitely amazed sia, especially when we have to flash our passes past at least 15-odd doors just to get to his room. and i heard from yuzhe that there's plently of activities being held there - movie screenings, talentime, sports competitions, and even boarders' council elections!! haha i seriously wonder how're they gonna concentrate on their studies given these kinda distractions there. and the price of staying there? 900 sing dollars per month. no wonder they could afford all these hi-tech security equipments and the air-cons, those rich chinese high bastards heh.
yeah had a short table tennis practice session with yuzhe, and though i'm improving (i think) i guess it'll take me at least a few more years before i can be on par with him hehe. guess i'm just too lousy at it ah, given my slow reaction and bad body coordination. now i know why i kinda suck in whatever sport i play in =x yeah had dinner with him at al-ameen and played counterstrike for one hour. we got owned by some six year-old english-speaking kid who just keeps screening me. damn cheater, and to make me more pissed he turned his monitor away from me argh! oh yeah and i saw clifford with a girl on my way to the lan shop. should be his newfound stead i believe. darn that clifford; never update me of his love life. but can't really blame him lah, cause i'm not that close to him anyway. *shrugs*
