Happy 50th Birthday

I have a card today that I made for my girlfriend. We have been best buds since childhood. She was the youngest of our little group......and we use to tease her a little about her age. As we all got older she then got to gloat over the fact that she was younger...lol.

For a gift I had a little fun giving her some age related items. I make and label my own home made soap...so.. I gave her three bars of soap replacing the original labels to say; "Achy Pain Soap"..."Over the Hill Soap" and "Anti Wrinkle Dimple Soap". They all state in brackets under each name (for 50 and over)...Of course I also included a few nice little gifts...(a couple of hanging ornies for her deck). I'm not all mean...lol....all in fun. She has a great sense of humor and is an Awesome person and friend.....

Here is the card I made for her. I hope she likes it:

Stamps - Penny Black, Hampton Art, SU amazing to zany, Inkadinkado.

Paper - SU whisper white, always artichoke. K&C Mckenna, Basic Grey Phoebe.

Image is water colored with H20's.

Ink - SU close to cocoa, creamy caramel, basic black, Versafine black.

Accessories - Stitching, flowers, brad, Maya arts ribbon, stardust black pen, glitter, scribbles, coluzzle, oval scallop punch.

Have a wonderful day every one!.....and....

Surprise Card!

When I came home from holidays ... there was a very nice surprise waiting for me in the mail.

I received a beautiful card from my friend Vikki. She does not have a scanner or a blog and I hope she doesn't mind me posting her card...but I had to show it off. The envelope this card came in was very unique as well. Vikki used a calender page to make the envelope....it was lovely.

Thank you so much Vikki. Your card really made my day!!

Have a Great Day! everyone and Thank you all so much for your lovely comments.

Babies and Bottles

The weather here has been beautiful. It is softly raining today...which is all right...gives me a little time on computer without guilt (I'm hiding from the weeds in my garden..lol).

We've had company over the weekend. My brother and his wife came down from Edmonton for a night so we had a barbecue. We had a great time...lots of catching up to do (all made easier by a little home made wine). It was a beautiful evening and after supper we all went for a long walk (needed to walk off the food and wine). They have recently become grandparents so I have a card to show you that I made for their son and wife.

This is the first tent card I've ever made. It was so easy and fun to make...I'm sure I will make more. I used Michelle's easy directions. I love the fact that it could be made to fit in an ordinary envelope....

Stamps - SU "A New Little Someone"

Paper - water color paper for image, SU certainly celery, confetti cream, DCWV Nana's kids paper.

Embellies- ribbon (maya arts), button brads, stardust pen, markers, embossing and a little sewing.

Image was colored with Twinkling H2o's. Scallops were made with a scissors. Rattle was stamped on DP, embossed, cut out and popped up for dimension.

Thanks for looking ...Have a Great Day!!

Back from holidays and Tagged

We are back from holidays and hubby is back at work. Holidays were great but it is nice to be back. I am amazed at how much I missed stamping. More about holidays later and maybe even a few pics.....

I was Tagged by Charlene (be sure to check her blog....it's Wonderful!! Charly's Crazy Corner) I have to list 7 unknown facts about myself and then tag 7 other people, leaving a comment on their blog to let them know that they too, have been tagged.

1. Although I enjoy watching good movies...I am not a regular T.V watcher. I would rather be doing something ...like stamping or creating something.....or being on the computer. In our previous house we had the computer in our living room...I loved that cause while hubby was watching T.V. I would check and read my mail etc...but still kind of felt like we were doing something together.

2. I love taking pictures ...(my family can attest to that) and lots of them ...of everything and anything ..birds..gardens...animals..barns....while were driving. I think the digital camera is the greatest invention ever. I also like taking little movie clips. When I was young..like 10 yrs old...my brother gave me his old 110 camera. I took a photo of an Elvis Presley poster pic from a record album ....(outside very close up) had the photo developed..took it to school and told all my friends I met Elvis and he let me take his pic. (I know...I know...what some kids will do for attention right?) Anyway everyone believed me...the photo really wasn't very good..but we were all kids and it was fun.

3. Wild flower gardening is sort of a passion for me. I have 2 gardens, one sort of wild and a more designed one. The wild one is always full of birds, bees, butterflies and this year a few wild rabbits. The designed one is oriental.

4. I love the water....I miss when my kids were all small and we took them to family swimming to practice what they learned at their swimming lessons.

5. I took piano lessons when I was 12-14. I actually did quite well but my interest changed to boys....that was it for the piano lessons.

6. I use to love to bake....and unfortunately..eat it too. I have to watch my sugar now so I only bake when company is coming..if that. Even putting it in the freezer doesn't help.... if its around ....I will eat it!

7. I have 5 fabulous children.....Trina 32, James 31, Crystal and Kimberley 27 (yes twins) and Darren 25. Now I hope I got all their ages right.

Okay...that is it..now to tag 7 others. I am a little late in the game with this so if you've already been tagged feel free to count that.

I am going to leave it at this....as so many have been tagged already.....Have a Great Day Everyone!!

Father's Day Card

I haven't been around the last while because we are on holidays. I just thought I'd drop in for a bit to share the father's day card I made for my hubby. I did not have very much time to make this card with him around. I thought I could work on it a bit while we were out camping.. but no way...I have no idea what I was thinking in that regard....... Anyway I made it and gave it to him yesterday...better a little late than never....right?

We have a few more weeks of holidays and are off to Clear Lake Manitoba Thursday morning. We spent the last week travelling and camping in our Okanogan (it is a old large yellow camper van) We call it "The Beast" because it is such a gas guzzler. We bought "The Beast" a few years ago from my husbands parents. They had it sitting for years in their yard not being used. It was in pretty sad shape cause it leaked through the vents all that time. DH fixed it up with the guidance of a fella he knew that fixed old campers. I made curtains and cushion covers and we have been good to go. I really enjoy going out in it because we can make our own meals in it...simple meals but better for us than eating out all the time......Well enough for now..

Here's the Father's Day Card....

Stamps- Stampin Up...sorry I can't remember the name of the retired set. (got the image from my daughter)

Paper - Michael's, SU Ivory, patterned paper unknown.

Inks - SU close to cocoa, Classic black, Cranberry crisp.

Image is colored with Prisma colored pencils and oderless mineral spirits.

Words are computer generated.

Accents - brads, cord, sakura clear stardust pen.

Thanks for looking and for all the Wonderful Comments!!!

I leave you all with a photo of ... "The Beast" ........Have a Great Day!
