Valou - "Love" - "Lady Rose"

Hello my friends!

Valou today for the post of inspiration.

I hope that you go all well and that the weather is not too cold.

Here, it is cold and it is raining. We already feel that the winter is close.

I chose to realize a young home decoration by trying to ally the sweetness and the romanticism of a magnificent collection " Kaisercraft ".

Here is in images my project realized with the wonderful collection "Lady Rose" of "Kaisercraft".

The medium is a wooden medium "Love". I covered it first of all completely with two layers of " white Gesso ".

Then, I reproduced every letter on the papers of the collection "Lady Rose". All the papers are used with Tim Holtz's " Old Distresser " then inked to the ink "Distress Walnut Stain".

In the back the letter " L ", I stuck a young white doily.

Then, I added a die-cut "Cage", die-cut "Lady Rose". I stuck it with a foam piece 3-d.

Then, I added a bow that I realized with a piece of ribbon pink organza

I decorated this one with a white pearly pin, two buttons of roses and a white rose " Kaisercraft ".

On the bottom, I stuck a big pink flower " Kaisercraft " with two green leaves, two cloth white roses, a red rose " Kaisercraft ", two buttons of white pink and snowballs. Flowers are covered with some touches of "Glitter Stickels Icicle".

To finish, I added a small pearly heart and some half pale green pearly pearls.

The paper on the letter "O" embossed with some powder "Frantage Shabby Pink".

On the left part of the "O", I stuck "Flourishes" chocolat of "Kaisercraft".

The girl is a stamp "Magnolia" which I colored with:

- Ink " Distress Vintage Photo " and "Distress Tattered Rose" for the face.
- Ink "Distress Worm Lipstick" for the pink.

The dress is covered with cream "Cresative Inspirations Winter Frost", the shoes of "Glitter Stickels Icile", and the crown of "Glitter Stickels Silver".

The letter " V " is worked in the same way as the letter " L ". Then, I decorated with a stamp "Magnolia" that I colorized with the same ink that the plug previous "Magnolia".

I added a small angel in plaster literally then also pale green pearly demies-pearls. The butterfly is one stickers of the board "Lady Rose".

The letter "E" as for it, is worked as the letter "O".

In the corner upper right, I decorated with a "Terracota" flower "Kaisercraft", a flower " Lilidaft " ecru, an old rose flat flower " Kaisercraft ", a red rose " Kaisercraft " and snowballs. I also added two green leaves " Kaisercraft ".

Flowers are also covered with some touches of "Glitter Stickels".

Then, I added a die-cut "Lady Rose" and one stickers "Butterfly", "Lady Rose" at the foot of this letter.

The feeling is a die-cut " Kaisercraft " of the same collection. I stuck it with a foam piece 3-d. I added two rhinestones clear youngs.

On the foot of my medium, I stuck a piece of white lace then a piece of pink satin ribbon.

 And here is for today!

I wish you an excellent day and find you very soon with a new realization!

Have a lovely day!

Christine - Gingerbread Cards

Hi there - Christine here today with some cards I have made using Kaisercraft's Gingerbread Collection....

I am usually a traditional Christmas colour person of red and green - but I really love this teal green colour in these papers.  For the first card I have made a rosette with the Tim Holtz die out of white card and before I folded it I added some red washi tape from Papervine and then added a rhinestone sparkler to the centre. I love making fishtail banners so have used them on all 3 cards - great for showing off the patterned papers.

For these 2 cards I have used this lovely Angel - she is a digi stamp from LaLa Land Crafts. I just printed her off onto white card and coloured her in with my Copics. The Merry Christmas sentiments are from the Collectables.

I have family coming to stay for a few days this week, so I might have to get them having a crafting session with me. I know a certain someone who will be happy to be let loose in my craft room. I will be taking lots of photos of the 2 little ones as well, I hope to get some cute photos to scrap!
Enjoy the rest of the holidays everyone.

TFL

Happy Creating!

Beck - Lady Rose

Good Morning Ladies!

Did you have a great weekend?  I did, except they go too fast, don't they?!

Mum and I started our weekend off with Midnight Madness down at the shop, although after a busy week, we only managed 10pm Madness.  Oh well, some madness is better than none!!!  I had a play with some pocket page layouts, which I might just come back and show you once they are finished.

The rest of my weekend was filled with the usual housework and washing, and a bit of time catching up with family.  I even baked gingerbread men with my not-quite-three-year-old nephew yesterday afternoon. Took me right back to when I used to do that with Jacob at that age... quite a while ago now, as he will be 10 in January :)

Now, get to the point Becks, why are you here today?  Well, I have been playing with the lovely Lady Rose collection this weekend...  I have a layout and a card to show you!

Before I show you the FRONT of the layout, I am going to do something you don't see every day... I am going to show you the BACK of my layout.

You see, I did some sewing on my layout.  This is one of those things that adds a bit of texture to your layout without adding bulk.  And it is SEW easy (see what I did there?).  Ha ha ha, it must be Monday morning if I am making silly tired jokes!

Now, one of the best things about sewing on paper is that you don't have to do reversing stitches or tie knots in your threads when you are done.  I just pull the threads through to the back of the layout (if you tug on the thread coming out of the back of the layout, you will make a little 'loop' of front thread that you can pull through easily), then I tape the threads to the back of the layout, and snip off the excess.  Way too easy!

So I suppose I should show you the front now?  Here 'tis:

I made a 'quilted' effect with 1.5" squares of patterned paper, inking the edges and only gluing in the middle of each square (so that I don't sew through glue and made my needle sticky).  Then I sewed a zig-zag stitch right around the outside, and through the middle between each line of squares.  Then I matted and popped up on foam the photo I had chosen, and arranged a cluster of flowers and buttons for the bottom left hand corner of the 'quilt'.  I finished it off with a couple of Kaiser pearl flourishes, to anchor my flowers to the layout.

You will notice that again I have made some rolled flowers using the same range of patterned paper, like I showed you on my last blog post, here.  Using difference sized circles to start with gives you different sized flowers.

The photo in the layout is one of my paternal grandparents.  It might not look like much, but my family and I love this photo.  It is one of the last ones of the two of them together, and they both look happy, and very typically 'them'.  It was taken at a family barbecue out at the river, something we often did over the summer with Aunties, Uncles and cousins in tow.  Yep, some great memories right there.

Well, I guess I should show you the card now huh?  I made a tri-shutter card with some of the offcuts and other pieces of paper I had from the Lady Rose range.  (There is a tutorial for the tri-shutter card here if you are interested).

I used some of the borders that come with the 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad, and some of the collections elements to embellish the card.  All of the background papers have been inked with Prima chalk ink 'dark bark'.

This is one of those card designs with plenty of wow factor, but isn't terribly difficult to create.  Go on, give it a go, I dare ya!

Righto, that's enough from me, I'd best get off to work.  Have a fabulous day ladies, I'll catch you again on the 20th.  This month's theme is 'In The Pink', so I'll bring you something pink then.  Check out this blog post for more info on this month's theme and challenge.

Toodles, Beck x

Lisa - Kaisercraft Hidden Treasures

Good morning, all! Lisa here-- welcome to the end of another week-- they seem to be whizzing by at the speed of light lately, don't they? I hope you've all got nice, relaxing weekends ahead of you, making the most of the extra daylight hours that this time of year brings us. :)

This time I'm showing you some projects I've made using Kaisercraft's lovely Hidden Treasures range. As always, the colours and papers in this collection are lovely, making them suitable for a wide range of products. I've used them for a few beyond-the-page items, as well as a card.

First up, the picture frame. I repurposed a blank picture frame as a gift for a new baby, covering it in the Fleamarket pattern, and embellishing it with a cute teddy from the Collectables pack. He has a lovely hand-drawn vintage look, which I thought was perfect for a little one. Both the frame and the teddy are sporting some Kaisercraft bling, to add a little sparkle.

Next up: the little gift box. The box itself is a little cardboard one from a pack of four I bought from the Warehouse several years back. They came undecorated, so I added an image from the Paper Fair patterned sheet on the top of the lid (it was a perfect fit!) and covered all four edges of the lid with a strip of washi in a vintage measuring tape pattern. (Also a perfect fit!) The base of the box was painted in a cream colour, and I stamped it with the Kaisercraft woodgrain stamp which I LOVE-- it gives such a neat effect.

Inside the wee box are a trio of little fridge magnets, made from three of the Russian doll images from the sheet of speciality gloss Babushka paper-- these are so, so lovely. I cut round them and backed them with thin magnetic strip-- making them ideal for keeping shopping lists in place on the fridge! (Or maybe that winning Lotto ticket-- hey, you never know!)

And while we're on the topic of fridge magnets...I made four more!
These are assembled from a variety of the papers in the range, some of the Collectables, and more washi tape. They're house-shaped, with a magnetic strip on the back, and are a great way to use up all those little leftover bits & pieces you find yourself with after completing a larger project. Ideal for popping into a card as a little unexpected gift, perhaps?

And speaking of cards (I am on a roll here with my segueways, people!)-- here is the card I made.

Very basic-- the patterned paper is from the Paper Swap sheet in the range, and the three Babushkas are all from the Collectables pack, as is the sweet little row of bunting. I layered the dolls with a little foam tape for some dimension, and added a little bling to one of the bunting flags (which is also popped up with a little foam tape behind.) Simple, but effective. :)

The Hidden Treasures range arrives instore at Artfull Crafts this week, so make sure you pop in and check it out!

Hope you were able to take away a little inspiration, and as always, thanks for looking. :)

Cheers,
Lisa
