Tile Technique Tutorial
This month's tutorial is brought to you by our DT member, Jen Pahoulis. Today's she showing you how to make a card using the Tile Technique.
Supplies needed:
Supplies needed:
paper, ruler, pencil, paper cutter, glue stick, stamps (stamp seen here is Sunburst Dandies),
ink pad, and sponge
First, take the paper you want to cut into tiles and stamp your image.
Color it in, to your preference.
She used the Artful Inkables stamp set Sunburst Dandies
and colored them in with watercolor pencils using a blender pen.
After you have colored in the images, turn your paper over
and use a ruler and pencil to make lines where you want to cut it into tiles.
This part might take a little practice on scratch paper, to get an idea of how you want it to look.
They can turn out different every time. Note: Try not to cut it into to many pieces.
Use your paper cutter to cut on the lines.
Next, use your sponge to ink the edges of each individual piece on all sides then
assemble on a piece of scratch card stock that is slightly larger then the image.
This will help you avoid getting it crooked when assembling.
Jen used a glue stick for this step because it coats really well.
After it is all down, trim around the edges, then do a final ink sponging all around the outer edge.
Now you are ready to finish it! Add a mat or two, a sentiment and
maybe some stickles or other embellishments.
Hope you enjoyed today's tutorial using your AI stamps! Thanks for stopping by!

It's a CHARMing Hop!
Welcome to the Artful Inkables’ “Charm”ing hop! To get back into the swing of things for the new year, we are bringing you some creative inspiration that highlights a few of the wonderful charms we have that coordinate with our exclusive stamp sets. As usual, there will be a prize giveaway at the end of the hop, but you need to leave a comment on the blogs along the way in order to be entered into the random.org drawing. We are offering the winner any stamp set of their choice along with a matching charm! Cool, huh?
For my card, I used the Creature Comforts set and an adorable woven heart charm. All the stamps in this set would be perfect for any Valentine's project you might need to make next month and the 2 heart charms we carry would make lovely embellishments for them.
Stamp Set: Creature Comforts
Ink: Versamark, Momento Black
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Pretty In Pink and Certainly Celery Cardstock from SU!, a lace paper doily and DP from Crate Paper's Bliss Collection
Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Woven Heart Charm, random striped satin ribbon, dimensionals and 2 buttons
We both really enjoyed making these cards together and we hope you get some inspiration from them. Now it is time for you to move on to the next blog on our Charming hop... JOY's Crazy for Daisies Blog. And dont forget, if you comment on every blog on our hop, you will be entered into our drawing for an Artful INKables set and pewter charm of your choice. Thanks for visiting!!

Dina's Think INK inspiration Piece...
The current Think INK Challenge, make a monochromatic card, was chosen by one of our customers, Dina Kowal aka dini on SCS, you can check out her blog HERE.
Using the AI set, Thought I'd Bug you, she came up with this FABULOUS card....
The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. Edges are scored with a Scor-Pal. She masked the circle and stippled around it...the ribbon is colored with an alcohol marker, and the batik paper was a folder she bought just to cut up for cards. The button is made from a coconut shell.
Dina, thank you so much for such a great challenge, a fantastic card, and for supporting AI!

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to everyone! We're hoping that you and your family have a wonderful 2010!
DT member, Sherry Campbell, made the perfect card to start off the new year, using South of the Border. This also fits the current Think INK challenge, of making a card inspired by your New Years Resolution, which she states hers is: First, I want my life to be more simple. I want to enjoy the simple joys and pleasures like spending time with my friends and family more. I also want a whole lot less drama. Second, I want my life to have more FUN in it. So I made a Clean And Simple card...
