It was the last week for Liz Borer as GD over on the Paper Artsy blog this week and what a great week it was. I loved the project on day 2 and so thought I would like to have a go. I more or less copied Liz's technique and design But first you really should pop over here and see Liz's fantastic project. .I wish I had had more time to flaff about with it...but I didn't..so here it is.

I won't go over how I did it as I more or less followed instructions from Liz. Thank you Liz for yet another week of great projects!!

One Stamp..Six Tags

Darcy over on Art and Sole set us another challenge this week to win a set of her lovely christmas stamps!! the challenge was 6 tags from 1 stamp..you can see her's here

So seeing as I would love to own some of those stamps I had to join in....They are all around 4x21/2 inches..

                                                             Tag one

I covered the tag with some christmas paper and stamped some holly leaves in black.
The tree [my chosen stamp] was stamped onto white card and coloured in with puff paint. I then cut it out and added it to the tag using foam pads. The sentiment was stamped onto matching paper and edged with black and also added to tag with foam pad.

         Tag two

I inked the tag with distress inks in the blues. I stamped the tree in walnut distress and softened the lines with a water brush. I then added ranger antiquities over the whole tag and used my heat gun to set it. To finish just a touch of glitter to the tree. Snow was cut from a sizzlits die.

        Tag three

I cut this tag from craft card and stamped the tree directly onto it. I used a white prisma to colour the snow. I stamped some snowflakes using a white versafine ink pad,

The sentiment was also stamped onto craft card and added to the tag using a foam pad..

          Tag four

The tag was coloured using distress inks and splattered with water to give the effect of snow..I stamped the tree in black archival and coloured the snow with a white poscha pen. I then added some glitter to the tops of the tree and stamped the sentiment in black.

         Tag Five

This one was coloured using distress ink and the tree stamped in walnut stain and the edges softened with a water brush I then added some pumice stone glitter, stamped some snowflakes in the background and added the sentiment..

   Tag Six

the last one...I did the background for this tag with distress paint and just stamped the tree and the sentiment. I sanded the edges of the tag to remove some of the colour. Then I added a touch of glitter randomly to the tree and around the edges of the tag..

I think the tags look much better in real life but these are the best pictures I could get.

Christmas with Joanne Wardle

Over on the Paper Artsy blog this week it was all christmasy with Joanne making some lovely cards..my inspiration came from day two when she just stamped on grey card and used black white and grey pencils...you can pop over and see it here.

I didn't have that many christmas stamps to choose from (well not that I use anymore) so went with two of Jofy's minis and made some tags..

Here are all six...I just stamped with black versafine onto grey card and used a white prisma along he edges to throw some light..I also added a tiny bit of glitter but don't know if the camera has picked it up or not....I added some black fibres to the top of the tag...

sorry about the poor piccies but it was very bright today and just couldn't get it right!!

So thank you Joanne for your inspiration this week..simple but very effective!!

Christmas card challenge with Darcy

This week Darcy challenged us to make a bunch of Christmas cards using the same stamp. well she did six cards using the brilliant steam punk robin from one of her new releases of stamps..(and very nice they are too!!) Well this robin is one of my favs of Darcy's stamps but I don't have him :( so I used a whipper snapper stamp instead. Now I must admit that I rarely make cards these days so I am more than a bit rusty lol..I didn't have time to make six cards so had to settle for three..

The first one is just stamped onto white card and coloured in prismas..all shades of blue..I painted the snow with puff paint and put tiny dots of it all over the rest of the card.

The second one was again stamped onto white card and coloured with copics and promarkers. This was mounted onto red card and then onto black card which has snow flakes stamped in white versafine.

The third one was stamped with walnut stain distress ink. I used water brush to soften the lines. I distressed the edges and used frayed burlap to soften the edges and added a tiny bit of glitter to the snowy parts.

A couple of tags

Alison Bomber was back this week over at Paper Artsy with some stunning projects as always..you can pop over and see them here. On day one she did some gorgeous tags which is where my inspiration came from..

I used the same techniques as Alison..using frescos with stencils and stamps for the back ground. I cut the arches from a die I bought at Stevenage from once upon a stamp and painted, crackled and distressed them. I didn't have rusting powder for my embellishments so used distress embossing powder instead. Once everything was assembled on the tag I used rafia and string to tie the top. I really enjoyed this project so thank you Alison for a great week!!

Inspiration from Jo

Over on the paper artsy blog this week we welcomed back Jo Myhill with some great projects you can see them here My piece was inspired by all the techniques she used this week...

I started off with a piece of grey board and painted it with holly and crushed olives. when dry I added crackle glaze and put that aside to dry.
Next a piece of an old cardboard box with a bit of the corrugated showing, I painted that in  mix of green frescos, and a tiny bit of beach hut. I then stamped the key from LP013 in olive archival.
Back to the crackle glaze, I painted a coat of honey dew and dried it off with a heat gun. Then added some hey pesto and beach hut with my fingers. when that was all dry I stamped the script from backgrounds 2 in coffee archival.

I took a piece of hessian and painted it with watered down choc pudding and a bit of squid ink, sprayed it with water and scrunched it up and left it to dry naturally. I made the flower with thick mulberry paper and the primitive hearts die by sizzix and painted in honey dew and beach hut, added a small flower and sizzix button in the centre. I edged it all in black soot distress ink and layered it up with foam pads and silicone glue.

Sewing Room

The October challenge over on the Arty Inklings blog this month was 3D with a sewing theme...you can pop over and have a look here well I had this mannequin sitting on my desk for ages and nowhere to live lol.. I had made it one day when just playing around with the die and some old book pages.

I painted a piece of grey board with mermaid and bora bora fresco paints and stamped with coffee archival ink. I cut some lacey borders from a Tim Holtz die strip and stuck around the edge after painting it with chocolate pudding.

I have a big bag of empty spools so took 4 and painted them brown and used them as feet for my little stand. I then took 3 more all different sizes and coloured those too using a mixture of mermaid and chocolate pudding. I wrapped assorted lace and ribbon around them. I painted a small metal tin with little black dress and french roast and filled it with ribbon and buttons..laid the scissors across and voila!!

My sis in the USA would love this but not sure it would survive the journey!!
