"Goodly Parents" and "Keeping an eye on him"

Finally getting back into the swing of things.

Savannah and I were reading scriptures together. I decided to read 1 Nephi with her because I didnt have the kids version (its on Chris's ipad that he had at work) and there were a few words in there I knew she would understand. We got to the part about "goodly parents" and Savannah pipes up, "OH! I dont have goodly parents". I was trying not to be offended and thought surely she doesnt understand what goodly means! So I tried explaining it to her, "Savannah, its like in your song. Parents kind and dear. We are kind and dear right?"
"Oh yeah. No, you're not!"
Now I was hurt! "Why not?"
"Because you put me in time out! That's not nice!"




Two nights ago we were coming home from the gym and Savannah says from the back seat, "Oh, mom, I dont want to go to sleep."
"I'm tired, arent you sleepy??"
"No. I could keep an eye on Braden in the family room while you sleep. And when you get up I will tell you to go back to bed!"

I thought, 'If only you could, I might take you up on that offer!'
