i was down with a really bad flu since last fri...

and still in the process of recovering...

hence the lack of updates and all...

nevertheless i did fullfilled...

the resolutions i planned way before the new year....

and now im a proud owner of a...

Digital SLR Canon EOS450D!!!

bt to date i have yet to test it due to lots of work...

and today i did sign up for a gym membership...

and i decided to go for Fitness First...

i dislike crowds and i felt this place was a gd choice...

compared to Cali Bugis as recommended by my colleague...

wic is often crowded...

i did my bmi and was within the range...

bt was told that my fat weights is above recommended range...

and i shld do cardio to burn off and then tone up...

ill try my best to avoid peak hrs...

coz i have phobia of ppl looking at wat im doing...

hahaha... 

ill be signing up for my driving lessons this cmg wed...

and hope i cld start driving by my bday... :)

so 3 down and more to go!!!

*dreams

its been 4 yrs since i started blogging...

its the only means i could truly express myself...

and thanks for friends who took interest...

in knowing and going through my blog all these years...

i dun usually have a new year resolution...

bt i do have dreams which i hope i could achieve...

if not next year then the years to come...

Here are my wishes

1. Getting my Canon EOS 450D Digital SLR camera 

(yes im getting it end of this month!!!)

2. To prolly get a gym membership 

and achieve a more lean body...

(yeah im getting a 'lil flabby liaow... 

hahaha bt nt sure wic gym)

3. To go for a lasik surgery

(i hate wearing specs... 

it just hinders alot of things)

4. Not to be workaholic and balance personal life

(I sumhow managed to this yr bt will commit more in future)

5. To see where my love life is going to take me

(Im still hanging on and i hope im strong enuff to carry on)

6. Spend more time with friends and love ones

(Im sorry if i cut off some outings due to work

bt I'll make sure I'll commit to it in future)

7. Seek opportunities in career and portfolio

(Im still waiting for the news to go HK or Ho Chin Minh)

8. Get my driving license before my bday

(Hahaha i've been saying this for eternity...

 bt I'll apply end of this month... promise)

9. To travel as much as possible

(hmmm hahaha ok ill be realistic... 1 destination per yr)

10. Save up for rainy days

(Yup... i hope i can achieve owning 

a private property in future)

I feel my age is catching up with me...

darn i feel so old...

and i hope the following year could be a blessing yr for me....

im glad lights.camera.action party went as planned...

although there were hiccups...

bt my boss commented that it was the best xmas party...

ever organised...

i was kind of sad initially...

coz i was over expecting Lianne in helping me out...

with the party bt i should now better...

due to her workload, she cldnt help much...

anyways here is the main poster...

my boss liked the poster so much...

he refused to pull it off after the party...lol

these are the doorgifts i prepared...

there are sweets in it...

and most importantly there is a handmade bracelet...

the materials and idea was from me...

bt nurah and dede helped made them...

coz hahaha i sucked at doing handcrafts...

and the bag is done by Lianne...

the guests list include bosses, colleagues and their spouses...

and almost everyone were dressed in the theme...

including all my bosses.... super garang rite lol...

and i think i did a gd job as the joker....

we also gave quirky awards...

such as the most garang, most quiet, most lame, the noisiest

the joker nominated by all of my colleagues...

we did gave out well-dressed, best suited to the theme...

and the anyhow dress award decided by the bosses...

well xmas is about anticipating gifts...

at least for me lol...

we have this "secret santa"...

wer u buy gifts for a colleague and its up to u...

whether u want ur identity to be known...

mine was a t-shirt....

a nice one indeed...

bt i didnt know who my secret santa was... hmmm..

on top of that i receive many other gifts frm colleagues...

super surprised and touched by their gestures...

well this weekend had been a busy one for me...

been accompanying my grandma, my cousin and aunt...

who came frm malacca for a wedding and crashing in my place...

for shopping and also recommending places to eat...

beside that i was busy with the office party prep...

decorating the office and still am finding the doorgifts...

i havent decide wat to come as for the xmas party though...

it has to be a movie character....

i was thinking of jack sparrow or sweeney todd...

coz i tot being johnny depp will be so cool...

bt most prolly i wld just come as joker frm batman...

its the simplest and least hassle...

btw i was nominated in "the most lamest person" in the company...

today i had my work review with my boss...

well its just a session where feedbacks are given...

by my boss and also comments on my part...

i gave suggestions on hw the company...

could be more productive in terms of managing workload...

more involved in the creative brainstorming session...

and hw i wanted a variety in my portfolio....

all were taken positively and im pretty much glad abt it...

and best of all my boss rated my overall performance...

above expectation... lol

i was on my way hm in the train after meetup session...

with some of my lasalle frens...

there was this indian standing strangely close behind me...

and was moving closer and closer near my back...

i felt really awkward, so i shifted a bit...

well my fren was telling me he was checking out my butt!!!

i never felt so violated before hahahha...

and i told my fren i wish she didnt tell me...

on the brighter note... 

im still elated abt today's review :)

its time again for me to do my own self-reflection...

and here are some if not small accomplishments...

i had made thru 08...

01 got a new job and am very happy with it

02 looking things at a more positive note rather than over-worrying

03 believed in true love and had met one

04 had my first kiss and my first "ahem"

05 travelled to Bali, Bangkok and Phuket

06 had my iPod nano and my Mac Book Pro

07 more health-conscious compared to prev years

08 strengthen my ties with close friends

i guess pt 08 is the most valuable to me...

i had started to be more franked and open to my close friends...

and im touched on how supportive they are towards me...

friends are the most valuable asset to me...

well nw and then we do meet with crushes...

and hoping these crushes will turn into sumting more...

well im one of them who unknowingly...

fall into this category...

i used to work in a cafe back in my uni days...

to help finance my day to day expenses...

coz lasalle is nt a cheap place to study in...

believe me u need at least $200 for materials each month...

and i used to work 12 hrs shift on weekends...

uber tiring bt i love the smile i bring to customers...

a few months later this person was transfered in...

to the optical shop infront of the cafe im working in...

well i didnt really noticed that this person has been observing me...

frm the optical shop...

and im the kind who wld not notice ppl...

even if they stand infront of me unless being called... haaha...

so i had this strange vibes that someone had been staring...

and true enuff that person was looking at me...

i didnt pursue anything coz i tot it was a mere glance...

bt frm day to day i observed its quite frequent...

its like a game see who can catch who staring at who....hahaha...

i even purposely work on the days that person is working...

well the thing was i wasnt brave enuff to make the move...

to noe the person even though i worked there for a year...

i do regret not making that first move...

bt i believe there's a reason for everything...

i finally found that person nw through facebook and friendster...

and the person is nw happily attached for 2 yrs...

im happy for that person and i long to have the same happiness...

in the current situation im in if ever possible...

recently as u noe my laptop had crashed...
hence the hassle of getting a new laptop...
bt to top it up my modem wasnt compatible to my mac...
and i also found out abt the service standards here...

i called Pacific Internet (i was mocked by my colleagues coz they say its old skool)...
so the conversation goes as follows...
"Hi, im calling regarding my broadband account....
i bought a mac recently and i have trouble installing my modem"...
"Sir, your modem is nt compatible to ur mac"...
"So wat's ur advice?"....
"Get a new modem, preferably one using LAN or telephone line"...

so there i was hunting for a modem in Sim Lim...
only to find out that the model of the modem recommended...
was not carried by stalls there as its a very old model...
my colleagues advised me to get a new broadband account...
hahaha and they mocked me for using a 512kb broadband....
diaoz... the reason i didnt upgrade was because of the hassle of changing account...
bt i guess i deserved it... hahaha...

so i decided to cancel my account...
"Im calling to terminate my broadband account"...
"Sir, to terminate ur account it will take a month...
and a mandatory $37 dollars cancellation fee will occur"....
"Could i do an immediate termination of my account?
It doesnt make any sense if i cant have internet access...
and still have to pay for a month's subscription fee...
plus ur cancellation fee"
"Ok sir, bt it will take 3 days to do an immediate cancellation"
" That's fine with me"
" Sir u have to send a request to cancel via email...
and it will take effect 3 days after an auto responder"...

I was speechless...
Nevertheless i did as per told...
and sign up with singnet bt only to find more problems...
they told me i couldnt sign up unless my internet connection...
is fully terminated frm pacific internet....
i addressed my problem to them...
and they told me they could push it on the 9th this month...
feeling relieved i tot everything will be fine...

the next day someone frm the technical dept of Singnet called me...
asking me the status of my account with Pacific Internet...
I mentioned that technically the deactivation will be on the 9th...
and he told me to reconfirm again as he needs to know the status...
i checked my mail and found out that it was stated 2nd of Jan instead...
i called Pacific Internet and had them clarify...
and was told to do another request via email again...
so have to wait again for the response via email....

That night another person from Singnet called me around 8pm...
asking me the status of my Pacific Internet account...
I told her im still waiting for the reply...
and was advised to call their customer service hotline once i gt the confirmation...

I then received a confirmation email by Pacific Internet...
that the deactivation will take effect on the 12th...
immediately called singnet to inform them...
a lady answered my call....

"Im calling regarding my broadband service...
i would like to request to push the activation date to the 12th"...
"Sir ur activation date is on the 2nd of Jan...

So u wld like to push it to the 12th?"
"No my initial activation date is on the 9th and
nw i do want to activate it on the 12th"...
" Im sorry sir bt on our system it reflects 2nd Jan"...
"I think you get it wrong... coz i received a call from ur techinical guys
and another lady saying its possible to have it on the 9th...
if my Pacific Internet account is deactivated by then"
"Im sorry sir bt our system says its on 2nd Jan.
So u like it to be on the 12th?"

I swear to god she was just asking for it...
"I think u gt me wrong... its not a matter of pushing the date forward...
its just that i think ur side had my dates mixed up"
" Im sorry sir my system says it s on the 2 Jan.
Can i put u on hold while i speak to my superior?"

she put me on hold for mere 5 mins...
"Sir, our system reflects 2 Jan"
"Can i talk to someone else?"
"Sorry sir, who?"

"Just someone else, probably ur superior wld be good"
"Sir, even if u speak to my superior, the answer will be the same"

Geez, damn i was boiling...
I tried calling the technical dept....
managed to get through and asked them to give a check...
they were supposed to return my call bt didnt...
i then called the customer service helpline again...
another lady serviced my call...
she checked her system and told me...
that Pacific Internet had sent a notification of deactivation on the 12th...
and she could help me activate it on the 12th...
wat a relief....

yesterday i gt a lady from the Singnet calling me...
and told me that they could only activate my broadband on 2nd Jan...
I told her hw confused I was...
and why such service is being rendered...
She apologised and told me that the point of contact...
wld be her from now on and no one else...
and my internet could be up on the 12th....

hahaha at least nw im reassured...
so nw u noe the service standards of our Internet Service Providers....
