Travel Tips

I want to throw this Planet Traveller brochure away, so decided to preserve it online:

1. Don't be damp
Crumpled-up newspaper when placed inside luggage will help keep dampness and mildew to a minimum. If your luggage has been stored for quite a while, place it under the sun to air before packing it

2. Roll up and save space
Roll up clothing when packing, it takes up less space and it will help keep wrinkles down. Also, roll socks and underwear up and stuff them inside your shoes

3. Wrinkle-free (& stress-free) garments
Pack clothing that resists wrinkling, such as polyester blends, wool blends, microfibres, silk and rayon. Take dark clothes, they don't show spots or dirt and work for most situations.

4. Pack lightly
To avoid having to bring two pairs of dress shoes, choose one neutral colour and build your wardrobe around it. Similarly, bring one suit and work around it.

5. Don't put all your stuff into one luggage
Carry on your important documents, toiletries, medication and one change of clothes in case your luggage gets lost

6. Test-drive your trolley
Always test-drive your favourite suitcase around the store and look for reinforced corners

7. Stand-out with colours
Consider getting a bag in a bright colour to help distinguish your bag from others on the conveyor belt
