Well it has happened, I cannot believe how fast it has gone. Our little one is one year old today. I think I can speak for Mike by saying we had no idea just how much we would love this little girl. I do want to share a few milestones and other information about Eve's first year (mostly to help me remember) but that will be at the end of the post since it may be longish and many of you may want to skip that.
We celebrated Eve's birthday one week early so my sister and parents could be there. I know I may have overdone the owls already, but I saw a few cute birthday owl ideas and I couldn't resist making her birthday owl themed. So enough talk, here are the pictures of Eve's first birthday celebration.
The party favors were owl cake pops, which are basically cake and frosting mixed together and covered in candy melts (which taste like white chocolate to me).
And now here are a few more pics. The ones where she is wearing the UCLA shirt are from today.
This particular picture I tried to get to show what she was doing at the exact time she was born. Unfortunately all the ones I took of her face were blurry.
Eve's First Year:
Started to roll over around 4 months.
First tooth came in at 6 months.
Started to crawl (army style) at 7 months.
Pulled herself up to things around 9 months.
First word: kitty (sounds like "Keeeeeeee").
Eve has always been a great sleeper, starting around 6-7 weeks she has slept through the night.
Around 4-5 months she discovered a love for paper and plastic that still exists, back then she liked to try and eat it, now she just loves to hold it and make noise with it (and chew on it too sometimes).
She also loves to play and chew with her socks and shoes. In fact a shoe is the item that she first crawled to get.
Eve is a very inquisitive child who loves to grab anything she hasn't seen before.
She is a good eater, especially loving yogurt, sandwich meat, cheese, and bread. Of the baby foods we have given her, her favorite is the sweet corn casserole.
She loves animals, hence her first word.
Her favorite toys change with time. At first she loved Sprinkles the giraffe, her shoes and socks, and her owl. Now she loves a reindeer named Roxy, books, and still quite enjoys her shoes and socks and other items of clothing.
Well, I am sure there is plenty more I could say, but that will have to suffice. We love you Evie Jean - Happy Birthday!
