Jamie's secret TV obsession

I have not owned a TV for over 10 years. My lifestyle does not lend well to sitting inside, watching hours of other people leading interesting lifestyles. I do however, enjoy watching a few shows on the internet. Last year I began watching CHUCK on NBC. I adore the show for it's semi-realistic, sci-fi antics, as well as the cute and tall leading man. My dad even began watching the show and we finally have conversation pieces that revolve around the television. Some reports say that CHUCK will be cancelled after it's second season. I truly hope not because I don't know of another show that will replace CHUCK as my nerdy, sexy, adventurous, Los Angeles based, clean and family based tv show. If you haven't seen CHUCK I recommend watching it with your family. It is one of the only shows that holds strong to family always coming first in the life of CHUCK, the retail store clerk who also holds government secrets, and most recently found out he knows KungFu. The show can only get better in season three. Please, keep my show on the air.

The Big Sleep-Liz

I recently watched this classic movie from 1946. It was good, the witty banter between Bogart and Bacall was awesome. I love the dialogue between all the character's and from the moment Phillip Marlow(Bogart) and Vivian(Bacall) came into contact they had a dynamic energy between them.
One of my favorite scenes is when they are sitting in the car.
Vivian says "Yeah I guess I like you."
and Marlow says "Like I said from the start, I like you."
Vivian "Well then show me!"

So Marlow leans over and plants a kiss and Vivian says "I liked that. I'd like more."
So of course he obliges. It was classic..
Yes I know it was just a movie, but I think in real life it still doesn't have to be as hard as some guys make it..

Nature Center-Liz

Oh how I long for a job where I can work outside, in nature...

I am still at my current job, stuck in a cubicle...ugh..

The good news is I am now a docent for the Shipley Nature Center! It's great! I have been to my training course and we had a tour of the center. I loved it, you know that sound of crunching leaves or gravel under your feet when you walk around in nature? Oh how I love that sound...I had my first day of volunteering last Saturday, it was filled with new adventures. The local park next door was having an Easter Egg Hunt, so that brought in a lot of kids, hopped up on sugar. Then a man brought in an injured duck who couldn't walk. We decided to place the duck in a box and called the wildlife rescue to stop by and pick him up.
Now if only I could figure out a way to get paid for working outside, but for now I am getting good experience and spending some Saturdays in the great outdoors..

Jamie Hearts Harry Potter!

I love Harry Potter books/movies.  This new trailer gave me chills!

Easter Bunny Came to Town

The Easter Bunny hid 24 Spiritual Joint Juices all over apt#6 and the garage for Liz to find.  She had to go outside and try to carry all she could find back home.  At time of publication I think she has only found 23 of them . . .

DodgerTown!

It's Dodger time again! I went to the Dr. Pepper First Base Box seats with Michael's new wife, Jessica, and her friends Debbie and Joel on Saturday night. It was exhibition game against the Brewers. Of course, the food was great in the all you can eat gourmet buffet but the Dodgers lost which made me loose my appetite.

Sting and Kawi'ka

I finally got my new bike from the shop in Santa Monica. It was worth the Saturday morning drive to Santa Monica to get the bike and enjoy the farmers marker on third street promenade. On Saturday afternoon I tried to install wall hangers for Sting (the black and yellow "old" bike) and Kaw'ika (david in Hawaiian- the new bike). The bikes were hung with care for 20 hours before Sting got too heavy and tore the brackets off the wall and fell onto my skateboards. Therefore, Sting is now stored, again, under the kitchen table and Kaw'ika will be the king of my bedroom wall. (King Kaw'ika is my favorite Hawaiian King-thus the name of honor for the new bike).
I rode the bike today for an inaugural ride to the church to input Visiting Teaching statistics. WOW! He is fast and light and a bit intimidating. I put the better tires (no wammies with flat tires!) on Kaw'ika and hope that when I ride on the river road by school tomorrow that all will go well for a fast, enjoyable after work ride.
I am really enjoying my bike experiences!

Hoody's Birthday!

This year at Disneyland the theme is celebrate! So what better way to celebrate your birthday than going to Dland?!

We finally found the hidden food spot(my Disney insider keeps talking about) and it was open! The food was good and reasonably priced..We ordered chicken nachos, beef nachos, a cheeseburger, a chicken sandwich, a pretzel, cheesecake and of course fries...mmmm..

Here we are faking that we rode the Tea Cups..

And no our dinner didn't quite fill us up, we headed to Pooh's Corner for dessert!

It was a great way to celebrate Hoody's birthday! We had lots of laughs and good food and great memories...
