REM

REM sleep has become very important to me. The process of dreaming wasn’t something that I obsessed over because I never remembered my dreams anyway. But now that I have lost sleep over consecutive nights and weeks the process of dreaming has become drastically important to me.
In the last seven days I have only had REM sleep on two nights. Last Monday night and last night. Last night’s REM sleep was about buying homemade onion soup at a take away restaurant in Chicago (my dreams never make sense in reality). I don’t care what the dreams are about; I just want to have enough sleep to finally have them.

Grateful

I take comfort in the words of the Lord's chosen leaders.

"Be grateful. Every day is a new canvas—a new opportunity. Our beloved President Gordon B. Hinckley has said: “My plea is that we stop seeking out the storms and enjoy more fully the sunlight. I am suggesting that as we go through life, we ‘accentuate the positive.’ I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort” (Standing for Something [2000], 101).

Choice blessings await those who live in thanksgiving daily. “He who receiveth all things with thankfulness,” the Lord has promised, “shall be made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added unto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more” (D&C 78:19)."

The weekend

The weekend before Halloween was great! It started off with a trip to Disneyland.. Met up with some friends. We watched the fireworks from the Main Street station in the reserved section, rode the Haunted Mansion. On Saturday we went to the dance, where people came from all over dressed in costumes and ready to party. Jamie and I dressed as soccer players...Pretty sweet, right?! We payed homage to the hometown by wearing HB on our uniforms. Some came as monsters, a mountain dew can, an air freshener, Jack Sparrow and even Optimus Prime.. Good times were had by all. We danced until twilight. Then headed off to the 24/7 cafe on PCH for some food and more bonding. These memories I will always treasure. The weekend was uber fun, meeting new people, hanging out with my peeps. Letting lose on the dance floor. Thanks to Jamie for helping me see the light, that it's fun to dress up on Halloween..
