.Modesto's & Santouka Ramen

FRIDAY
Friday came as quickly as a leaf that's falling from a tree.
And I'm back to Sunday.

On Friday, i had PE.
After school, I had Macs with Jasmine and Megan with Nellyn watching us eat.
Nellyn and Megan wanna go to Modesto's, it's some Italian restaurant.
Well, after some discussion WE DECIDED TO GO ON THAT DAY ITSELF.

I went back for CCA which was supposed to start at 1.30pm but I arrived at 2pm (not on purpose) and I left CCA at 2.30pm.

So dinner was settled at Modesto's.
I was late (as usual?) haha we were all kinda late.
The reservation was changed from 8pm to 8.20pm.
And well we met up at Orchard and did ALOT of walking till we reach Modesto's which was at Mount Elizabeth Hotel?

The waiter kindly put the napkin on my lap and we started deciding on what to order.
We had... (let me say this in my own words since I can't remember the Italian titles)

FRIED SEAFOOD PLATTER for appetizer

SPINACH AND CHEESE PIZZA

HUGE KOROPOK that contains mushroom, artichokes, ham and cheese.

TIRAMISU

The food is great hot, but since the aircon was rather strong the food turned cold soon enough and... we didn't finish our food (SO WASTED)

Yeah that was all, we had to semi part ways at the MRT station..
Megan and I had a laughing fit on the MRT.
I think I ate too much, we weren't even talking about anything funny! >.<
I was like trying to tell her that some people may be pretending to listening to their music but actually they are listening to what we were saying and she was like, "who in the world will do that"
I was about to further explain when I just can't.stop.laughing.

:D

SATURDAY

I woke up feeling like eating ramen that my sister said was AWESOME.
So after much pestering, my sister brought me ALLLLL THE WAY to Clark Quay, The Central Mall.
And we ran straight into Ramen Santouka on level 2 (#02-76).

Our plan was to eat some at Ramen Santouka then head upstairs to Marutama Ramen on level 3.

Marutama

But, after ordering one Pork Cheek Ramen and a tonkatsu, my sister and I didn't have the stomach for anything else.
Which was quite a waste since we went all the way there :(

Yeah you didn't see it wrongly, it's PORK CHEEK.
It's yummy, yummier than normal cha siew.

Anyway my sister say the cha siew at Marutama Ramen is muchhhhhh better but it's like.. 6 pieces for $6?

We walked past STICKY'S as well and was fascinated upon the process of making..

We then left Central Mall to meet our parents at Orchard :D

This. is . a. HUGE. piece of pizza!

.2nd Last Day

It's the 2nd last day of my end year holidays!
Surprisingly I don't find that it passed by very quickly.

Anyway, I wanted to go for a bike ride with my folks but apparently the weather played on me and they are feeling kinda lazy so........... I'm here.

Since I'm here I decided to go find out about something which I should, since it's VERY related to me.
Haha, the meaning behind the day of my birthday.
Labour Day.

An excerpt from http://www.apnimarzi.com/history-and-information-of-1st-may-labour-day

"Labour Day or Labor Day is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world that resulted from the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers. The majority of countries celebrate Labour Day on May 1, and it is popularly known as May Day and International Workers’ Day

Most countries celebrate Labour Day on May 1, known as May Day and International Workers’ Day. In Europe the day has older significance as a rural festival which is predominantly more important than that of the Labour Day movement. The holiday has become internationalised and several countries hold multi-day celebrations including parades, shows and other patriotic and labour-oriented events. However, in Northern Europe, Walpurgis Night is celebrated on the preceding night and this holiday merges with the Labour Day in some countries.

May 1 is a national holiday in Albania, Argentina, Aruba, Austria, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, China, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guatemala, Haiti, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Lebanon,Macedonia, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Mexico, Morocco, Myanmar (Burma), Nigeria, North Korea, Norway, Pakistan, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, the Philippines (spelled as "Labor Day"), Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, Serbia, Sweden, Syria, Thailand, Turkey, Ukraine, Uruguay, Venezuela, Vietnam, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

In Slovenia, Serbia and Ukraine, May 2 is also a national holiday.

In Poland, while May 1 is a national holiday, it was renamed from Labour Day to simply "State Holiday" in 1990."

.Twitter

I think there's something wrong with Twitter

The same twitter entry I saw on Jiyeon's page, the date changed from 5th October 2010 to 5th Jan 2011

I got this from http://www.allkpop.com/

{What are the top girl groups up to this month?
by VITALSIGN on January 5, 2011 at 9:56 pm

Having led a busy year in 2010, girl groups are preparing for what seems like an even busier 2011, especially with fresh girl groups waiting to make their debut. Reporters from Star News went ahead to check up on what the top girl groups were up to in this first month of the new year.
KARA was revealed to be spending a majority of their time in Japan for their Tokyo TV drama, “URAKARA.“ DSP Media representatives stated, “KARA will be featured in the drama as themselves, and will be leaving for Japan on January 7th. They’ll be flying back and forth between Korea and Japan until the end of February.”

SNSD will also be leading a similar schedule, as SM Entertainment representatives revealed, “The girls took a short break after the year-end awards, and will be focusing on advertisement filmings and recording new songs for a week in mid-January. The official date for the new album has not been confirmed yet. At the end of the month, they’ll be heading to Japan for their promotions, and will join the SM Town concerts on the 25th and 26th.”

2NE1 is also focusing on preparing for their Japanese debut. Representatives of YG Entertainment stated, “2NE1 will not be appearing on any broadcast programs in January, and will instead be completely focusing on their first Japanese single all month long. CF recordings that were pre-scheduled will go on as planned.” 2NE1 is scheduled for their Japanese debut in February.

The Wonder Girls will be staying in the U.S, as revealed by a JYP Entertainment representative, “The girls have taken breaks in Korea at the beginning and end of the year. They left for the U.S on the 5th, and will be appearing at an event in Las Vegas. They’ll then return to our base camp in New York to focus on their album preparations. Their U.S. advancement project is still being created, and we’re aiming to release a new album within the first half of the year.”

This really sets me wondering in awe and in frustration.
In awe because of a particular phrase actually;
"They’ll be flying back and forth between Korea and Japan until the end of February."It's like taking a bus to school and back!
They take airplanes like normal public intercountry transport.
Although I am really envious and amazed, it must be really tiring too..

In frustration because of  these korean pop idol groups seem to be successfully attacking almost every single part of the world with this Hallyu Wave/Kpop Wave.
And of course they are so proud of it, and they are worthy of being proud of it.

I did some googling and searching of videos on youtube and the results really surprised me.
I found korean variety shows subbed in vietnamnese, japanese, thai, mongolian, english, chinese, and some omg language like arab or scottish or something.

Like O.o! how in the world did this Hallyu Wave hit the Western and Asia and it hit us so hard?
(SNSD) "At the end of the month, they’ll be heading to Japan for their promotions"
"The Wonder Girls will be staying in the U.S"

"2NE1 is also focusing on preparing for their Japanese debut"

Oh I forgot to talk about my frustration, my frustration is, Singapore.
Singapore have some of the finest Music Producers that are pretty known in Taiwan too, but we seem to be status quo in our media productions.

We held Singapore Idol and Campus Superstar and all the Acting competitions but somehow rather our entertainment market doesn't really catch the eye of even us Singaporeans!

I saw this rookie actor yesterday at Tampines Mall Foodcourt, I kinda think he saw me see him.
Well I felt this wave of sympathy for him.
He has acted in quite a couple of shows and activities, but there he is standing in the crowd and no one rushes up to him for an autograph.

I'm thinking that he probably gave up a proper job to be in this entertainment business but yet after two years no one really cares?

This reminds me, I saw this girl that acted in I Not Stupid at Tampines Mall NTUC.
No one seem to recognise her too, lol, if i didn't tell my mum she wouldn't even notice.

There's this guy in AHS that is an actor too, and his mum is a cameo actress.
And I saw the Campus Superstar guy Shawn? At Tampines Mall before too, it was the period of time when he was quite a topic too but nahhhhh he's just a normal school kid outside.

Honestly I don't even watch our homemade dramas anymore.

Overseas artistes are always glad when they come to singapore because there isn't as big a commotion when they do. It's probably tiring to be stalked and taken photos of and appearing in news all the time but this is RECOGNITION.

Look at our papers, our local artistes hardly appear in Lifestyle! besides the recent Jeanette Aw and Shawn thing. I mean, it's probably a relief to not be in the limelight and be as regular as anyone, but RECOGNITION, isn't that very important to artistes?

I think if I'm a local artiste, I probably only feel like one when I'm in Mediacorp.

I kinda have a dream, my dream is to build up our entertainment market.
Ain't that good? There will be a Singapore Wave in future perhaps HAHA! :D

I can't even think of a nice "something" Wave.
SingWave, LionWave -actually SingWave sounds cool like you know singing~

.Mouse

Typing the word mouse reminds me that I used to be confused about the spelling between mouse and mousse.

Haha, anyway I WANT TO COMPLAIN.
A computer mouse is supposed to be able to support your hand while using it right.
But whoever came up with mini laptops thought that it would be great to come up with a MINI mouse.

Which certainly does not serve it's purpose to support your hand properly during usage.

And then some smart guy came up with A WRIST REST.

I think humans sure know how to come up with new ideas that will bring along new ideas and newer ideas and.. you get what i mean.

Well but I guess that's how we earn money right, economy..

What goes around comes around~!

.New Leader? Again??

I have to comment. I know most people who still read my blog probably are not fans of T-ara but oh well just voicing my comments here because i'm really really bewildered.

T-ara now consists of seven members now, (starting from the youngest)

Jiyeon 17 (07/06/1993),

Hwayoung 17 (22/04/1993),

Hyomin 21 (30/05/1989),

Eunjung 22 (12/12/1988),

Soyeon 23 (05/10/1987),

Qri 24 (12/12/1986) and

Boram 24 (22/03/1986).

Well, besides the recent adition of a new member which is Hwayoung, T-ara also changed their leader from Eunjung to Boram because Eunjung is too busy.

When I first got to know about the news, I thought it was a great chance for Boram to step out of the shadows.

FYI, Boram is the daughter of a singer and an actress, her parents are separated though.
Anyway she was scouted (i think) after she published a video of her dancing to one of Boa's song.
I watched that video before and well i admit that those dancing skills were pretty good, and I guessed that she probably got into the entertainment circle also because of her family background.

She later produced a mini album and showed off pretty sweet singing.

BUT NOW..... as i said i thought it would be a great chance for her to step out of the shadows right?
And she claimed that she's gonna work hard and prove herself a good leader and all.
Maybe she does it, under the table because she's really not showing it.
At all.

When T-ara win awards at Melon, Inkigayo or whichever, the one who does the talking is ALWAYS Soyeon.
And in variety shows be it as guests or hosting their own shows, she is always outshined by the rest of the members.
Why/ Why so shy? Or why aren't you showing yourself as a leader?

Don't tell me they switched the leader to Soyeon or something and I didn't know about it.
@.@

I think i might get beaten up by Boram's fans if anyone happen to read this.
But, ain't it true? Don't you want Boram have more screen time too?

My sister was saying, "People only like those who have confidence in themselves."
Which, upon deeper thought, makes sense.
Don't you guys agree?? :)

.#1 Look alikes? I.U / LEE JI EUN & Ellen Page

STAGE NAME: IU
REAL NAME: LEE JI EUN/ 이지은
D.O.B: 16.05.1993

MY REVIEW:
Under rated singer for the past few years, only rising up to stardom in 2010.
Permanent cast for her first variety show alongside 11 other female cast members in, "Heroes".
She is currently starring in korean drama, "Dream High" which just started airing on like Monday 02/01/11?

SHE IS TALENTED.
SHE HAS A GREAT VOICE.
HER LAUGHTER IS DAMN FUNNY.
HER COLD JOKES ARE AWESOMELY COLD.

WHAT I SPOTTED?
She reminds me of Ellen Page. Like TOTALLY!!

Here are more photos of IU

Frankly, her songs are really nice.
And she's great friends with Jiyeon (T-ara) because of the filming of Heroes Variety show together.

Hahaha, but I still like Jiyeon more.

.How I spent my 2010 Holidays

ANYWAY, I had three outings with friends in this end year holiday. I mean 2010 end year holiday.
Well four if you count in the CIP trip.

One: Went out with Pearlyna, Yunxuan and Corinne, and Pearlyna's boyfriend.

Two: Went out with the Ten Councillors.

Three: Had a 10S08 bbq at Kimberley's condo.

That was all and I had fun with all, it was fun catching up and just talking.

P.S. Vernon, I'm terribly sorry though you will never read this post I supposed.
I really count myself lucky that you are not some violent bad tempered guy that will bash me up after all I did to you :/

My holidays were pretty much spent off like that, well of course not to mention
TRYING to learn korean.
Downloading kdramas for my mummy
Glued on Korean variety shows and music shows and dramas with T-ara in them.

Next week school starts, I'm gonna be sooooooooooooooooooooooooo, ___________

This is one of the babies in T-ara Hello Baby variety show, he's name is Mavin and he.is.AWESOMELY.CUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
