.Airport

13DEC:
Went to to the airport with my folks today.
Supposed to go to guitar farewell bbq at pasir ris, but it rained and all and I forgot to bring liying's calculator..
By the time I headed back to Tampines claire smsed that the farewell was over..

I'M SORRY GUYS! I REALLY AM!

Anyway, I think the airport is soon becoming some sort of shopping mall.
There were shopping carts near Kopitiam at Terminal 3, they sell clothes imported from Korea and China?
I don't know but the clothes were niceeeeeeeeeeee.
But super expensive.. like 30 dollars and above.

I bet in their own country it cost only like what, $15? :/

Anyway, i bought two tees for $30, haha :D

(Y)

.NEX

8DEC:
I went to Nex with my folks!
Nex is a new shopping mall at Serangoon, relatively near the MRT station.
IT'S HUGEEEEEEEEEEE!
I don't think I roamed the whole shopping mall.. i wanted to go check out their sky garden, but it was already pretty late when we reach there so it was too late when we were done with dinner heh.

The toilets were dirty and the cubicles were stupid!
WHY STUPID?
Because, when you open the toilet door (it open inwards) there is like only a 2 cm gap between the door and the toilet bowl. So you have to squeeze yourself into the cubible, trying not to touch the toilet bowl or wipe your body onto the toilet cubicle walls.
It's so stupid! I LOATHE TOILET CUBICLES LIKE THAT! WHAT KIND OF A STUPID DESIGN IS THAT? WHO IS THE STUPID DESIGNER?!?!?!!!

Anyway, that's all, we ate lunch at Food Republic which was soooooooooo tiny.
There were only like 7 stalls?
And I spotted the prata man, who used to work at Century Square Food Junction prata stall, he flips his pratas amazingly well.

.UNIVERSAL STUDIOS 7Dec

7th December 2010
I LOST MY LEGS AGAIN.
I went to RWS with my folks today!
It was so much fun, I felt like i was in a different country!
If only it was a little less sunny, the sun today was scorching!
I actually got sunburnt on my nose and cheeks.. but i'm glad that it didn't rain :D

Realised that the rides ain't many, especially when Water World is not open and the two huge rollercoasters are not ready yet.

But, let me give you some tip off.

#1 The Steven Spielberg special effects is a must go. It was so cool~!

#2 The Mummy roller coaster ride is pretty unique, but it could have been better, i heard it's a longer and scarier ride in the USA, but don't be frightened by the contents of the "Warning" sign, it's fun to a extent to not exactly freak you out.

#3 The beef burgers at Mel Diners are not fantastic though it comes in pretty thick patties, I'm not sure if it's just today, but the beef patties was kinda on a hard side.
The fish burger is good though, it tasted like fish and chips kind of fish.
I didn't try the chicken, sorry.

#4 The Shrek 4D movie thingy is good for kiddos and adults as well, pretty fun experience though it was rather draggy when we first entered the so-called dungeon, thanks to the story telling by three pigs, one pinnochio, gingerbread man, mirror on the wall and that evil prince in Shrek.
The fun experience comes when you enter the chamber, where you get to sit.
Guy might find it stupid.

#5 Do take photos with the weird characters that are walking around; Charlie Chaplin, Frankenstein, some Duck, Madagascar, Penguins, "celebrities", monsters.
They are really cool and spontaneous so don't be shy to queue up for it or ask for a shot!

#6 Also recommended to try out different styles of photo shooting, meaning don't just stand there and smile, try climbing or something because the staff don't stop you from doing it.
But please don't try climbng a building thanks.

#7 Keep the place clean! I'm EXTREMELY glad that the "streets" were super clean thanks to the diligent road sweepers and the toilets were pretty clean too.. (refers to toilet beside Steakhouse)

I would say that the 10am to 7pm time span given is more than enough if you are a family of teens and parents (that means no noisy demanding kids running and hassling around) well that is if the water world is not open!

And the environment is much more beautiful in the evening because the lightings are all switched on, like billboards and signboards. More beautiful for taking photos too. The afternoon sun was too bright.

Anyway, it was overall a wonderful experience despite much walking, queuing and squabbling :D

(Y) Thumbs up!

MBLAQ was cool, they had individual performances, Lee Joon ballet-ed.
Miss A's Suzy didn't come because of drama obligations.
2AM GAVE TEDDY BEARS!
What did B2ST do? I can't remember, I think they didn't do anything special?

2PM beatboxed, threw flowers and sweaty towels.

.Life

I know I said I'm supposed to be on hiatus but well, i came across this fabulous article that one of my teachers wrote to address all JC2s and I think it's really pretty darn good. :D

By Edmund Low

"So this is it. Your time at TPJC has run its course and you now stand
close to adulthood. As you steady yourself to make a positive impact on the
world, it is only right that I caution you of the realities ahead.
Ours is a black and blue world, of hard knocks and fast falls.
Ours is a world of mounting competition, where competition is unequal and unfair.
Ours is a world of leering hypocrisy and seductive betrayal.
All too often, and most regrettably so, the world is not the best place to explore one’s
strengths and passions.
As you venture onto the road less travelled, as you follow your heart and take flight
remember that there will always be the sceptics, the cynics, or simply the
mean-spirited who have made it their life mission to break you. They will
underscore your flaws, highlight your weaknesses and most of all, they will
remind you relentlessly that you are your worst enemy. You will amount to
nothing they say. Telling you the truth, they say, is all they are doing – a heady
dose of reality to remind you of your human limits.
And oftentimes, we succumb to these critics. We recognise our flaws,
our limits and we convince ourselves that it is better to cut our losses and to be
pragmatic. People will say to you, ‘No you can’t be a doctor because you aren’t
smart enough’. Or, ‘No you can’t be a lawyer you aren’t eloquent enough’, or
‘No you can’t be a fashion designer, an actor, a musician, a painter, an author,
– all these aren’t real jobs, they don’t pay the bills’. Or ‘No you can’t be a
nuclear scientist, an astronaut, a UN official or the prime minister of Singapore
because these things just don’t happen to people like you’. Life has no room
for dreamers such critics would say.
Life has no time for idealism, for idealism breeds disillusionment,
wherefore, whatfore idealism?

I am here to you that there is a difference between pragmatism and
self-pity, and that self-pity is the poorest excuse for the most pathetic fool.
I am here to remind you that you are still young. There is plenty of room for
pragmatism later in life. Be bright-eyed and idealistic. Aim for the moon and
shoot for the highest hoop possible. Because if you don’t you will lead a life
tainted by that all too familiar question ‘What if…’

There is an old adage which says that you cannot change the cards
life deals out to you, only how you play the hand. Rather than submit to
the crimson tide of self-doubt, rally yourself, and remind yourself of your
strengths and weaknesses. Don’t stop there. Learn to expand your
repertoire of skills – don’t get lazy. Endeavour to eradicate your weaknesses
– don’t be lazy. Remind yourself of what you want to achieve, how far you
want to go, and how big your dreams in life can truly be. Pursue your
passions to the greatest extents, with the biggest appetite possible.

Lesson Number 2: Many people in the world will tell you that you are your
worst enemy. When the world sits on top of you and beats you down, far
from accepting you are your worst enemy, you must be your best friend.

Review, reflect and learn from yourself, for yourself.
Push yourself.
Encourage yourself, challenge yourself and believe in yourself.
When the world is bent on selling you out, when the world seems set on putting you
down, only you can convince yourself that you will not be defeated.
And you owe it to the future ‘you’ – that person you are so capable of becoming
– you owe it to that person to give yourself the fighting chance to be the
best that you can possibly be.

And so you are now, on the cusp of adulthood, ready to embark on a
brand new journey, you will need the biggest pinch of salt, and the strongest
dose of self-confidence to endure this protean world of ours.
Ours is an everchanging world of difficulties and challenges.
Rising food prices, poor governance, and an ever widening income/digital divide.
A lack of awareness and attention to the problems of the poor, and those in developing countries.
A genuine sense of ignorance, indifference and sadly even denial of the biggest
problems plaguing mankind today. You may not care now, but you will in the
future, because this is the world you will inherit. And therein lies the crux of
our anxieties: that in our attempt to cope with change and challenge, we adopt
an almost annoying, sometimes compensatory, tendency to accept – and
conform to – established practices, instituted routines, and even unspoken (and
therefore unheard of) expectations.

After all, I may not necessarily be suffering because of the widening income inequality.
And after all it is just me. How much can I possibly do to help the poor?
Certainly, a big part of us wants to fit in, to adapt, to accept that change
is a cosmic force bigger than all of us put together, that the common man that is you and I have no real power to‘change’ the problems or trends we face today.
But why should we passively deal with change?

The great Mahatma Ghandi once said, ‘Be the change that you want to see in the world’.
And more recently, US President Barack Obama said,
‘Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.
We are the ones we've been waiting for.
We are the change that we seek.’"

.T-ara

I found out that the girl who acted in Coffee Prince is from a Korean girl group called T-ara!
How lag can I be?
VERY LAG.
haha, anyway I find their songs not bad, at least the beat keeps me going :D

I'm fussing over PW and PC again.
Peer counselling has lost it's meaning because of it's rigid protocol that does not give out humane rights.
I mean, how do you expect me to counsel one person per month?
It's like purposely finding somebody to counsel just because I have a report to submit.
I don't mind counselling, I don't mind speaking to people with troubles, I don't mind writing reports.
But, I feel guilty at times, like i'm using these people, my friends.
Maybe I should counsel myself lol!

T-ARA!
Time to Love
Going Crazy Because of You
Like the first time
Wonder Woman

They are all nice songs!

.Rollerblading&cycling

MY ASS HURTS!
I went rollerblading wiwth my classmates today
Zhenbang, Kimberley, Vernon and Marvyn.
Juz joined us after we rented our blades because he cycled to east coast park from pasir ris.

I FELL!
TWICE!
ON MY ASS!
urghhhh, feels like i got a BIG bruise there.

Anyway, everyone except kimberley and juz fell.
haha kimberley's a good blader.
Zhenbang cut himself on the bushes.
Vernon let go from Juz's bike and then scrape his ass on the floor.
Marvyn fell but he fell on grass.

Megan and Nellyn joined us after our blade rental was due for return.
Then we all rented bikes except kimberley and well juz already got his own bike.
IT FELT SO GOOD TO BE CYCLING, OMG SO FREE TO MANOUVRE MYSELF!

We went to the jetty and took photos.
Ate at some hongkong restaurant beside beside beside beside Macs
and we saw CHARLES STITCH WONG!
haha if you don't know who he is, he is some singer from SIngapore Idol.

I was the first to spot him!
I was like, hm do you guys find that guy familiar?
then Nellyn say he's from Singapore Idol ahaha then when we were comparing his photo from Nellyn iphone with him, he said (while he was singing) "Yes it's me"
haha cool.
Then we took photos with him and then left the restaurant.

OMG I'M SO HAPPY THAT MARVYN IS ALSO WATCHING
"MY GIRLFRIEND IS A NINE TAILED FOX"

.Cineleisure & Pool

Today, I went some of my classmates.
Zhenbang, Nellyn, Kimberley and Megan.
I realised this is almost the first official time where i went out with my classmates for fun instead of PW or whatsoever.
We went to Cineleisure to watch The Other Guys
I don't think it's a great show, probably just don't have that sense of humour.
Anyway, before the movie we played pool!
OMG, haha my first time but they said i played good, i kinda think so too hee.
Kinda looking forward to the next time i can play!

Going cycling/.rollerblading tomorrow, but feeling rather lazy right now..

I watch Open City already!
I really adoreeee the acting of Son Ye Jin, (Y)
The show could be better though, not much of a climax.
Haha, my so called holidays are coming to an end.
:(

A quote said by my current civics tutor: Ms Emma
"Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering." - Unknown

I tweeted:

Jamus commented:

cheemology.

.Marvyn and Vernon's new shoes!!!!!!

Yesterday was Marvyn's birthday.
Today, we celebrated Ashwini's, Nadia's and Marvyn's birthday.
Because we didn't get to celebrate Nadia and Ashwini's birthday.
Kimberley got a fruit cake!
And I managed to smash Marvyn with my remaining piece of cake! :D

Marvyn, Vernon, Juz, Zhenbang, Nellyn and I went for lunch at pastamania.
I had the fullest fullest meal (which costs 10 bucks)
Creamy Chicken!
Garlic Bread!
Mushroom soup!
Ice Tea!
Yum, but i felt awfully disgusted hahahaa :/

Then we went to search for Marvyn's street soccer shoes.
We are getting it for his birthday, lucky him!
Haha, Vernon got influenced and bought one pair too.
It was  hard work walking here and there in search, but fun too :D

Marvyn's!

I keep thinking that I bought something great today, just because of the satisfaction I feel from getting Marvyn and Vernon's shoes. Although I didn't buy Vernon's shoes but it's just awesome to feel other's happiness.
I guess that's why people say that one will feel happier to give gifts that to buy gifts for yourself.
:D

.Mrs Kah to Boston

Mrs Kah flew to Boston today!
11 of us including Ms Emma were at the airport to send her off.
Inez, Vanessa, Olivia, Kimberely, Juz, Marvyn, Vernon, Nellyn, Zhenbang and Me!

We were there real early, at 5am. I reached at 4.30am. Zhenbang, Ms Emma, Nellyn, Inez, Juz and Olivia were there the night before! They stayed overnight at the airport at Starbucks.
We waited superrrrrr long! Mrs Kah and co only came at like 5plus.
But then she had to weigh her luggage and it was overweight so she had to pack everythin and by the time they were done, it was 6.15am.
I should have totally taken Mrs Kah's advice and come at 6am. She smsed me that by the time she checked in her luggage and stuff  it would probably be 6.15am. She was so right!

We had many group[ shots and awkward moments ahha, We dragged on time for so long that Mrs Kah and her husband had only 10minutes left to get on the plane!
Mrs kah gave really rushed hugs to all of us and said her tahnks and encouragement.
The hug between her and her mother in law was really saddening.
Old Mrs Kah was crying!
Anyway we watched Mr Kah and Mrs Kah enter the departure area and after that we head to Macs for some breakfast, all of us were starving like mad.
But we were so tired we didn't really talk. Rather, we watched how Marvyn and Vernon play some dirty tricks on Juz and Zhenbang who were snuggling up against one another. Urgh.

FINALLY THEY ARRIVED!

Group shot #1

Group shot #2
