wow! it has been a year since i blogged. and i didn't even realise that. i guess it's because, when i flew over to club med, lindeman island- located in the whitsundays, queensland, it was an island? and basically on a island, you get limited phone reception, and internet. and TIME! because i was working all day long!

just a short explanation on how things go at club med. if you've been to one, u know as a guest, everything's included in your package you pay for, which means UNLIMITED ALCOHOL (from the bar), for the kids, UNLIMITED ICE CREAM!! haha, and food in the restaurant 3 meals a day + snacking from 4-6, and all the activities you can find on the island! there are instructors as well to guide the guests on what to do. for example, archery, sailing, kayaking, volleyball, trapeze, tennis, and at your own time, relaxing by the pool bar, swimming in the pool/sea, taking a walk on the designated treks.

the resort was abit run-down, but its under renovation now i heard! so it'll be better after that. rmb to visit, CLUB MED LINDEMAN ISLAND!

there were bar games at 6.30 every night, and there would be a show every night as well! my favs. monday was broadway, tues was cabaret, wednesday was trapeze, thurs was michael jackson, friday was around the world (dances with diff country's themes) and saturday was my favourite! - the water show! haha hilarious, and sunday, was.. i can't rmb what show alr haha but it was roast night! and monday's i forgot, tues is mexican, wednesday is asian, thurs is french, fri is seafood gala buffet, saturday is indonesian! and yeapp you get the idea! so best is go one week. or else, you'll have a repeat of food and show! :D

for us we're called G.Os. standing for gracious organisers. and basically we have to be at arrivals, departures, our own jobs for 8 hours (we have split shifts) and if we're not working- we have to go for events, take part in the shows or like, arrivals or dep. yeap! tiring, hectic! but fun!

okay! enough description about my second placement for lcb. was there on an island for a whole 6 months. and here's some pictures. let them do the talking! :)

the next post i'll post about my last few days in club med, my g.o life, and also, the chance and opportunity i got to visit whitehaven beach. as well as the great barrier reef- which i didnt go, because i thought i had plenty of time, but actually i had no time :( i should have gone! - cus its free for us G.Os. and i didnt :( but yeap! next post on whitehaven! :D

the accomodation and island, taken from the ferry :)

the jetty :)

the pool! :)

poolside.

the kids show! :D

alrighty:) next post i'll talk more about current days, where and how am i!
thats it for now! :)

xoxo.

btw, i saw a really pretty expensive bag which i really reallly reallllllly like at ion, that costs, (set your mind and heart ready for the price) - $1000+ $300+ $10 + $7 bucks. one of the brands there. (i won't say here), but would anyone would like to sponsor? :D hahahhaa. EXCEPT CHESTER LIM.

i wish the bag could land on my computer, just like how money dropped from the sky this morning on my computer when i woke up. (thanks daddy, i love you). hahhahaha.

great holiday right! no need to study, no need to work, wake up late and go swimming and shopping with besties, then got free money drop from the sky :D
i understand, its his hard work. every single dollar, takes his shoulders aching and lots of digging and drilling. i'll spend wisely dad. I love you.

NOT FORGETTING U BABY!

@ 2:38 AM

Hello all! I'm back for this 2 weeks, arrived on the 24th of June. Time has passed pretty quickly, and I really wished it didn't, haha. This would be what I did for the previous 1 week, and part 2 would be up soon :) Enjoy!

Upon arriving at Singapore Airport, Dad, Mum and I, as well as Aunty Suhui and the 3 kids helped out in carrying the luggages from the belt and we went our separate ways there. We took a cab and told the uncle to bring us to our destination. Although it was hot and humid in Singapore, I knew I was Home.

That night was the first night back, and we all decided on having a family dinner together. There wasn’t any expensive food, or any high class restaurants or hotel buffet, but it wasn’t the class nor quality or price that counted, it was the family relationship, the experience, and how warm that feeling felt to be back, and it just felt like reunion days, Chinese New Year haha.

We had Teochew porridge at Ah Seah Eating House, a regular place our family goes to. The porridge there is definitely value for money (cheap) and good. Daddy ordered the usual, peanuts, fish, egg, fishcake, sesame chicken (from the hotpot stall), and chapchye. It was an awesome dinner!

That night followed by songs on my really missed piano, and guzheng, and the feeling of sleeping on my bed. Hahhaa. I really missed my room and house a lot.

The following day, was an awesome day as well, swimming with Madeline in the morning at Serangoon Gardens Country Club, then shopping at Ion and Wisma for Chester’s present, and then went to The Fullerton Hotel Singapore to meet up with a colleague to get something.

I then met Chester after that. He was wearing his army uniform in full, together with his army cap! I almost couldn’t recognize him cus he looked like he lost weight and it was the first time i saw him in his army uniform ): still handsome though :P hahahha, it was really nice to see him after 3 and a half months. I missed you.

this wasnt the day i picked him up but the day after.

Glenn and Amelia were there as well, had a great time.

We then drove back to his place, to put his things down, and said hi to Aunty Serene (his mum), and sat at his place for a little while. Packed his stuff for the next day and off we went, Home. He stayed over, and Saturday to Sunday’s a huge secret. Check facebook for pictures soon :D It was an amazing short holiday teehee.

Went back to Chester’s place to grab his army stuff on Sunday night, and we both went our own ways, him going back to camp, while I went to Suntec to meet Mum and Dad, Uncle and Brothers, and went to visit my grandfather, who was previously sick and admitted to hospital. He’s much better now, but still really skinny. His thigh is skinnier than half of my thigh! ): hope he will continue to stay strong and healthy, and see his great-grand children :)

Monday, was meeting up with Elaine Ee my daily dosage!! Drove over to her place to pick her up, then off we went, to Ang Mo Kio, to have Suki Sushi Buffet, and it was definitely a guilty, Super guilty pleasure. Food was great, and we ordered too much. This Elaine ah, ate all the “liao” don’t eat the rice, and guess where all the rice went? :P

yummy ramen.

mentai mussels. awesome.

elaine's lobster salad and salmon.

daily dosage eating her mussels :D

my cha soba yums :D

After that, I sent Elaine off to her destination, and then went home to grab swimming stuff, went swimming, then ate at the Club and went home. It was to burn all my buffet fats. Hahaha.

Tuesday, was a free-er day, where I had nothing on as nobody asked me out ): But, I had fun staying at home, using the computer and all. Rest day. :D

Wednesday was a busy busy day, going threading with Elaine at Orchard Plaza, and then losing our way of how to come home. We ate at Takashimaya’s food court, and while at Orchard Ion, I saw a $1317 baggg that I really liked. Omgggggggggggg. But I have to get over it. Elaine says its not worth it too haha. (don’t buy it chester lim) I wanted to do my nails but guess not, and we were in a rush to get home! And then I headed home, as plans for that night was cancelled too. Ate at home, Mummy cooked.

Thursday, which is today. Woke up meeting Madeline at 11am going swimming! (we have to, cus I’ve been eating so much, everyday, and I am growing fatter and fatter).

Yeaps, sgcc again, and after that we had fish soup mee sua at Chomp Chomp, Serangoon Gardens for lunch, and then drove to Elaine’s to pick her up, and off to Orchard for Zara Sale.

Zara Sale

should i buy should i buy im in a dilemma. its 126 after discount. last piece. think its gone by now.

have to tie the front or add a brooch if not its super flowy.

couldnt decide too cus it was nice, but then again too flowy, like nightdress?

heh.

Shopped and then drove to P.S to get my nails done and some finger food. :D (FAT AGAIN ) yeappie, then Elaine told me her mum cooked Nonya Chap Chye!!! OMG so I ended up at her place eating dinner again. Sighhh this eating will get me growing a million more kg.

Yeap, tonight’s plans were slightly changed, and Maddy had to go off for Cell group, so Elaine and I drove back to her place, and had dinner, followed by a game of Life, and then at 11pm, I drove back home and successful parallel parking thanks to my baby on the speakerphone LOL. What a failure I am. (dad and mum complimented "well done" when i reached home, and "chey..." when they knew chester was on the line with me hahahha. i guess i can't do without you eh? :)

Alrights, that’s all for my holiday in Singapore Part 1. Will continue the rest soon, and next week would be even more fun and exciting as Chester has his pass out parade (POP) on Saturday, which I would be going, and pictures!!, and the next week he’s off, just nice as we can gladly and sadly spend our last week together, before I leave for six months.

Those who haven’t met me and wants to see me before I go to Lindeman Island, Club Med and not come back until January 2011, please text me asap!! Schedule’s tight as I’d be flying and departing Singapore on the 9th July, 12 midnight.

I wish time would pass slowly now;
I love you.

and guess what i actually wrote in my last last post "if you have the time and money, come to adelaide and visit me, and i'll bring you around!" and its happening now. ahhahah elaineylove!

ANYWAY, i forgot to add that, i was expecting the kingfish to be cooked. cus i dont really like raw food, and my stomach doesnt like it too, but yeahh apparently it was tasty and now my stomach is still fine. :) so yeahh its... GOOD :D

okay what else did i wanna add on, oh yea! it has been since feb since i updated man. omg thats damn long. but yeahh i got back to adelaide to commence my studies after my 1st placement in Fullerton Hotel Singapore. School has been great, and last sem's subjects were WELL-DONE!!

Advanced marketing- Distinction
Finance and Accounting for Hospitality businesses- Credit
and Rooms Division Management- Distinction

I hope this term i'll ace it all and get distinctions and above. but its not as easy as foundation studies anymore where HD was achievable. this term, i'm taking,

Hospitality Business Law (i'll aim for a credit)
Consumer Behaviour (Distinction)
and Human Resources Management (Distinction)

Will it be good enough?
see how it goes.
yeahh so i completed 1st term, and now's 2nd term, with law killing my brain cells.

looking forward to a great holiday with elaine coming next, and assignments to do as well, (not just all play), and i've already had an interview with Lindeman Island Club Med.

Intended to go there for my next placement as i wanna experience how a resort is like.
So, i hope i get accepted. It's quite interesting actually, but i'll tell you about it when it starts, or if i actually get in. :) too long an experience to tell.

if successful, off to queensland in july/august :)

I miss my chesterlim the nut ):
you're my always, i'm your forever.

@ 8:08 PM

heyy all! apparently and sadly, i was trying to upload what i had for dinner on this blog, but it gives me a page saying, diagnose internet problems, or something like that.

oh well, i went to North, one of my favourite restaurants in Adelaide, for dinner tonight, at around 5 plus. and i was deciding on what to order haha, and the waiter and another waitress strongly recommended the king fish (an entree). So since i really wanted to try all the entrees there (they're all pretty special), i decided to try that for tonight! and guess what, it came out raw! it was like cured with lemon, and has lychee and coriander salad with it. although it doesnt really sound nice, but its presentation and the taste was awesome. like japanese sashimi, but when you roll the salad inside the fish and eat it together, its really nice.

so, dinner was good, and today's law lecture went well too, as it was easier to understand this week's. i haven't really updated this blog much, due to a busy schedule at school, and too many things to do, and i really haven't had the mood to do things. i keep getting distracted, and come to think of it, where has my time all gone to? hahaha. but anyway, i hope from now on, i can start focusing, and so that i'll have the time, to sit down, and blog properly teehee.

okay! so, apologies to all my readers, and those who keep coming to check back. sorry ms. amanda yeominyi i <3 you.

just an update:
Chester's in army. so i've got more time now ahhaha, no its not that im happy, im sad. because we're already separated by being apart in countries, now we can't even have proper conversations. ): only till weekends.

why does NS separate couples?
why does law kill? lol.

anyway, chester's MIA temporarily has caused me to discover all the other best friends i've got who stand by me during this tough time. Thanks to all who spends time, and takes the time to talk to me, especially my two besties, PATRICIA KOH and ELAINEY MY DAILY DOSAGE!!!!

talking about elaine, she's flying over even, Tonight's flight SQ269. HOW AWESOME IS THAT.
hahahha, alrighty. she is arriving tmrw morning, and im gonna pick her up, then go to sch. :D
i hope i can reach sch in time :X hehheeee/

and, i really really hope we can have fun now. know, these few days ive been eating less so that i can keep fit, (cus ive been eating so much with chester in singapore lol, and i grew fat). yes, so i was eating healthy. but now that elaine is here, and parents coming over in june, im gonna eat and eat and eat. and ive got to bring them to adelaide's best places to eat. and exploring means eating again. hahaha back to my old diet i guess. but we'll stil go swimming and jogging and all. :)

yes im so thankful for them, and all who i can readily call anytime when i feel bored here. chester used to take up so much of my free time, so now i cant call him, ive got a lot of free time. maybe i should start calling it "studytime" :)

alrights for now, just did my laundry, cleaned up my room, awaiting for elainey's arrival!!!

LOVESS.

after a long way ♥

Hello all, it has been long since i blogged here again. I finally settled down in Adelaide, and was very reluctant to come back here to study. Was enjoying the six months in Fullerton, in Singapore, with family around, with chester, with my girlfriends. but unfortunely, time flies when you're happy, and here i am, BACK TO SCHOOL!

(I wanted to put pictures of every paragraph i've talked about below, but apparently the internet connection here is really slow and i can't seem to load a single pic up, so, perhaps the next post? or another time when i have better connection! sorry about it! )

just an update for those who haven't seen me, I CUT MY HAIR SHORT. for a change in the new year, for being tired of having hair in my food, and the sake of managing it. So, its good that its short now. manageable, and great for studies. but of course, those with long hair, i do not encourage you to cut for the above reasons. unless u want a change. Do not regret! (:

adelaide's been great to me for now. busy with school, busy with church, soon will be sports (: and soon i'll be busy with something "else" too LOL.

i somehow miss the fullerton, miss the long hair, miss the tiring morning shifts and that i had to tie and spray my hair so neatly every single day, and the troublesome make up. i've learnt and experienced a lot there. so, THANK YOU, Fullerton. everyone in there, the colleagues, the beautiful structure. i'll never forget this puzzle piece of my life (:

best was new year's eve, where the 10,000 light pink balloons dropped from our white and splendid interiors, was the greatest that i've ever seen. it was a great 5 mins, looking once at every single guest smiling, kids and even adults picking up their toothpicks or whatever sharp item they can get, poking and bursting those sweet pink balloons. It was the best new years' eve anyone could ask for.

leaving the fullerton was a quick touch and go, it seemed like it was a slow process, but actually it felt so fast. only till i stepped out of the hotel, then i realised that moment, i wasn't part of it anymore. but of course, once a pl lite always a pl lite. once in fullerton, always from fullerton RIGHT? LOL. haha nahh, the place brings me great memories, afterall its my first placement and work attachment. but yes i am going to more diff hotels to expose myself to this passionate industry. (:

i havent decided where i want to go for my next attachment. but i've already got an idea somehow. hope all things go well again (:

my family and i, when we first came to adelaide, found this restaurant for convenience sake, went there for lunch and dinner sometimes, because it was near our hotel. but today, i love this restaurant. it's a classy one, and i really love the food there. i can eat it EVERYDAY! lol. let me share with you all (: its called North, and the food there is AWESOME!

leaving singapore wasnt a good feeling too. leaving love alone there. he stayed over 2 nights before, to spend our time as much as we could. but on the way, in the car, was a sad journey, so was the flight. it's always difficult, isn't it? (:

yepp, so thats about it. will update you all soon about life here in adelaide! do come and visit if u have the time and money! i will definitely bring you around then! (:

MUCH LOVE FROM AUSSIE TO SINGAPORE,
grace.

i've finally found where my dreams lie. when the managers were not around, i was given an opportunity to take their role, where i realised that was where my future would be. however, i have doubts and i hesistate to go into this line, with comments and feedback from those who have ran the race or are still running, they tell me its a difficult route in life.

Do advise me, if you would choose money over your dream job? or something that you would really enjoy, but it would not cover the expense in your life. Do tell me, if what if i made this decision, and in the end, i wouldn't earn much, and at the same time, lose my passion in loving this job one day.

It's a tough decision to decide the step to take now in life, because this is the time where one decision would affect how my life would turn out to be.

tell me again, if money is more important?
its not that i want to be materialistic, but honestly, without money in this world, there would be a lot of things which i want in life, that wouldnt be realised.

will think about this dream once more, maybe after i complete my studies.

good news for now is that i got my driving license and there! till the 11th of jan, i'll be able to drive around in singapore :D

do text me to meet up before i fly. really miss you all!

have a happy new year everyone!

seasons greetings to everyone :)

christmas is coming, so is new year. this year has past pretty quickly right! and i can't wait for christmas day. every year at christmas, i rmb i'll always play a medley of christmas songs on my piano, and make my fingers really very tired after that :P and also, used to have christmas parties with turkey and my favourite honey-glazed ham. haha, does that make you feel hungry? if not, look at this picture.

haha.

free advertising for my fullerton hotel. come for our yuletide extravaganza, festive buffet lunch or christmas day champagne brunch which i think is fully booked. yumyum.

anyway just for updates, i have been busy working working and working. recently catched the new moon with nut, and it was OKAY.. quite nice at certain parts, but the ending really sucks. it's neither a twist nor a happy ending. it's just sudden, and no one expected it to end even. the lights just switched on. it made me feel like, or made everyone feel like, we watch tv halfway someone switch off our tv.

also, next up. exciting matters is, holidays.
mum and shawn went to japan recently, and tonight mum and dad is flying to bangkok with the clinic staff. good huh work for my dad! company pay for their air ticket leh! tour somemore. and i can't get away cus of work. mum enjoys the most cus she's not working, no need to go pathlight also cus now is sch hols, so she got to go to japan, bangkok and next will be msia! james recently also just came back, last night as he went to nepal for some climb mountain sch trip. but now he's sick. hmms, maybe its the weather change, or the dust. good news on the other hand, is that..

WE ARE GOING MALAYSIA ON SUNDAY 13th DEC to 16th DEC.

back to daddy's hometown kuching. then we can meet up with nadia and andre and hayden and hailey and aiden the cute lilbaby!!!!! YAY. love is coming too, so can meet the other side of the family. :) heard that nadia also bringing her boyfriend for family dinners. haha i always thought from young that she's a studious girl with a mindset that only when you FINISH uni then can have boyfriend. but hahaha now we're all so old already. time really passes so quickly huh. rmbering before my grandfather passed away, everytime they flew to sg, they would buy lots of presents for us. it was still at the old house then at taikenggardens, and i used to go to the playground everyday at 5pm or 5.30pm. it was so fun then, to play hide and seek, badminton, blind mice, and whatever it is at the playground. everyday there was many many kids there. and slides, and swings, and cycling even. :)

now we're all grown up! :) today i even saw my primary school website and realised many of my teachers are still there. some left, and some new ones are head of departments now. haha.
pl primary, the girls there look so tiny. can't believe i was that tiny once too.

hahaha.

okok, working now till 11pm tonight. mum and dad should be reaching bangkok soon. hope they'll have lots of fun and i can't wait for sunday my turn to get away. :)

may everyone have a great december and may all await the awesome upcoming christmas and new year! :)

Monday, November 16, 2009 @ 11:53 PM

time really flies.

it's really true, i was reading all my posts from the beginning of this blog. the posts are from star-rain to prettypleasee, then to itssaccharinesweet, and then to applesanddresses. but my life really is so exciting yes? from pl life, having class outings at the "closed" marinabay steamboat, and to having farewell parties to going aussie, life struggling in australia, and of course the good times as well. i'll always remember the times studying so hard, doing last minute studying for exams in marry's house, to laughing and doing work at vienna cafe with renee, and hanging out with stasha and evelyn, having drinks at that hotel, which i forgot what the name is and stash will rmb cus she loves a girl called amy there. anyway, those were the days in aussie. and then if u keep reading, you'll reach the part where i finally flew back to singapore in october 2008, where i finally could get a rest from all the loneliness. finally had green tea frap, and the food that i missed so much. and even went swimming and jogging with stace and mad. :) the sun :)

haha, now i'm finished with uni first year, back in my lovecountry, honestly speaking, happy with boyfriend :) , working at the fullerton hotel, kind of missing times in aussie, and even in marry's house. i wonder why. haha. time in aussie was difficult to pass, but i guess it is really God's plan to put me through all that. I really can imagine the images of my past. my assignments, my days.
i only read till november 2008. so there's still one year to read. shall continue tmr since i'm going home from work now! :) i will always treasure every single day, every single important person.

thank you to everyone that played a part in making my life so interesting.
iloveyouall.
