Portraits of Endangered Bengal Tigers

Dr Bhagavan Antle of The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S), photographs 4 varieties of Bengal tigers

"Most people do not realize that we are in the midst of a mass extinction that is affecting every living thing on this planet. We are losing up to a dozen species of plant and animal every day. This rate is far faster than when the dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago. A stunningly beautiful animal like a tiger captures people's attention so they become more willing to learn about critical conservation issues. Tigers are an important living example of the environmental problems facing the world, which makes them the perfect wildlife ambassadors. Wild tigers are currently on the brink of extinction. Due to rampant habitat destruction and poaching we may be losing a tiger a day."  Dr Antle

Behind The Scenes: Stunning Portraits of Exotic Animals by Photographer Brad Wilson

Brad Wilson's early education in the visual arts began at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he studied art history and studio art - mainly painting, sculpture, drawing, and architecture. From there he moved on to both the Maine and Santa Fe Photographic Workshops to focus exclusively on photography, before settling in New York City in 1992. In New York, Brad worked with a number of notable photographers and then began his own career in 1996 in the commercial and fine-art genres.

His work has been widely published around the world, appearing in numerous advertising campaigns, magazines, annual reports, music packages, and on over 400 book covers in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America.

His latest series of wild exotic animals is getting a lot of attention and rightly so. Enjoy!

Photographer Profile ~ Jill Greenberg

Greenberg was born in Montreal, Quebec, and grew up in a suburb of Detroit. She graduated with honors in 1989 from the Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Photography and moved to New York City to pursue a career in photography

n 2007 Greenberg was selected by French Photo Magazine for their 40th anniversary issue to represent one of the 40 most important photographers. She has done commercial work for corporations such as Philip Morris, Microsoft, Polaroid, Dreamworks, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, MGM, Disney, Fox, Coca Cola, Pepsi, Smirnoff, MTV, Warner Bros., Sony Music, and Atlantic Records. Her photos have appeared on the covers of Time, Newsweek, Wired, Fast Company, Entertainment Weekly and numerous other publications. Celebrities who have used her head shots and portraits include Clint Eastwood, Glenn Close, Steven Spielberg, James Cameron to name a few.

Her artwork has been featured in Harper's, The New Yorker, The New Republic and several other publications. Her monkey series has been purchased by art collectors worldwide.  Her artwork has been exhibited in Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Paris, France; Adelaide, Australia; San Francisco; Chicago; and various other cities.

Greenberg herself has acknowledged having made particular use of digital post production, adapting the nickname "The Manipulator" early in her career due in part to her relatively early adoption of Photoshop, a product she has used since its release in 1990. Nonetheless, she told an interviewer in 2011 that some of what her fans believe to be post production is instead the result of close attention to lighting, merely supplemented with minor "flourishes" afterwards.
