Act II

Act II

In Act two things got serious to Nora flirting with Dr. Rank. This to me is the most interesting part in this act to me is how close Dr. Rank and Nora are. What led to reach this conclusion is when Nora had said “More than anyone else. I know you are my truest and best friend, and so I will tell you what it is. Well, Doctor Rank, it is something you must help me to prevent. You know how devotedly, how inexpressibly deeply Torvald loves me; he would never for a moment hesitate to give his life for me” (Ibsen 210). With that respond Dr. Rank had responded with “[leaning towards her]. Nora--do you think he is the only one--?” (Ibsen 210). To me this means that Nora and Dr. Rank had a relationship also the part when she showed him her stocking and hitting him lightly on the ear. She also wanted to ask for money for Krogstad but to I guess she saw how much he was in distress and saw that he would almost do anything for her. Do you believe that Nora and Dr. Rank had something?  Do you think Nora just didn’t ask for the money because he was in distress or because he was in love with her or both?

Now the climactic moment will Helmer find out about Nora or would this go all go under the rug. To how Nora beg Helmer to not to fire Krogstad to Nora begging Helmer to not opening the letter box. Ms. Linde trying to help Nora to get Krogstad to get rid of the letter for a secret that Nora believe that would destroy her marriage. When Krogstad visit Nora Krogstad even know that Nora was in a desperate state he said to Nora “If you had it in your mind to run away from your home— “and “Or even something worse— “. (Ibsen 213). This tell me that Nora already thought of leaving and committing suicide for keep secret a secret. She doesn’t know that the lie is tearing her apart and being able to enjoy her time with her kids or just sitting at home. I believe that Nora need to stop hiding the secret and admit what she had done if not it will tear her apart and could possible destroy her marriage. Do you believe Nora should keep the secret and keep living in contestant fear of trying to keep it hidden?

Act I

Act I

In “A Doll’s House” the characters that we meet in the story are all have some sort of struggle that is going on in their life’s. Ms. Linde trying to get a job because her husband died, Doctor Rank suffer from sickness. One of the main character Nora one of the first character we meet is very enthusiastic and a good hearted person, but had borrowed money from Krogstad to help her husband recover from being sick and had forge her father signature with the contact that they had sign without her husband permission. The problem is Krogstad is trying to blackmail Nora so that her husband that soon will be a bank manger not to fire him from his job. Nora is now caught between a rock and a hard place, telling the truth to her husband and he being furious about it or letting someone so vile of the chain. I believe Nora had dug herself into a hole and can’t climb back up. Now Nora trying to see why her Husband Torvald want to fire Krogstad. She had found out someone thing they both share. Torvold said “He forged some's name. Have you any idea what that means? (Ibsen pg 178) “(only if he knew). Now I think it was a good idea Nora didn’t tell her husband.

Nora is now trying to see if there is any way to save Krogstad his job and not having her husband know what she had done. Torvold telling Nora what the cause of what he had done “Because such an atmosphere of lies infects and poisons the whole life of a home. Each breath the children take in such a house is full of the germs of evil.” (Ibsen pg. 179) Nora is now scared of what she had done seeing that she is affecting her children lives. She is even scared to even see her children “No, no, no! Don’t let them come in to me! You stay with them, Anne.” Do you believe Nora should tell the truth and build a relationship around lies or should come clean and confess with her husband which could lead to a tragic ending?

This remind me of old movies when the wife is a stay home wife and the husband work and he have more power of the family then the wife because he works. This can lead to one of the partner to think that they are more important or have more power than the partner that can lead to mistrust or lies. I believe if Nora be truthful with Torvold that the relationship would be better he would look at her with more respect and realize what she had done, even when he would be mad at first he would soon realize what she had done for him. Do you believe Torvold would appreciate what Nora had done for him or would be furious?

English Enjoyment

My name is Anthony what I like about English is how entertaining class is. Also help me increase my writing and vocabulary. Also bring topics that give a anew way to look at things. The books we read had enjoy alot.

The author of "Doll House" is Henrik Ibsen. The title may relate with the author by how the author life had change a lot pjs quick time to being poor when he was 8 to working at 15 and leaving school. The themes of the story that relate to his life is how life can change.
