After so long of no blogging, I am back~ =D

I am finally studying overseas, in the Capital of Australia.
Well... you will probably says it will be in Sydney? But, the Capital of Australia is actually Canberra.

Never heard of it?

Well, at least You knows now.

But being the capital it is still kinda under populated, there is only 345,000 citizens living here right now.
But it may also be the reason why, people here are more friendly.

People says Canberra is boring, but it seems quite happening to me at least...

Since it is the O'week, there have been lots of events happening in the School. There are stuff, you won't believe they will be organising.
For the past week it is like every morning lectures and talks followed by free lunch for us the hungry ghost.
At night we will be having events such as dinner + dance, for those who are hyper and young (not me >.<) we will be having lots of after party events, like clubbing or pubbing etc...

And for OLD man like me... just by going for half of the events I am dead tired right now =.="
BUT It was just AMAZING I guess, thats what they called work hard play HARDER =D

Next week will be the start of my school, I really have to settle down and do what I am supposed to do here.
If not there won't be a point for me to be here.
I thought I regret coming alone, but it seems to me, its still alright.

Well, I guess I will only know when the term starts,

The Return to the Dogs

It have been sometime since
I last visted the Doggys.
I am kind of like missed them
So I erm... decided to visit them once again :P

After prepared myself with the knowledge of why the dogs chase humans,
I return to the spot where
They were found
Cautiously...

As I have expected,
They are there...
But waiting...
Waiting for what,
I am not quite sure
But I am sure I will find out,
Really soon...

As I recall my last experience with them,
My gut is pleading me to get out of here ASAP,
But my curiosity urge me to stay.
(curiosity kills a cat, thankfully not human =D)

My uncle once told me,

Animal felt threatened when another animal look into their eyes or invade their 'territory'.
This is probabily why they chase me the last time ^^"

And for the animals to stay at a certain place....
It is usually because there is a source of food in that area.
But I can't imagine a chicken or hamburger running around in such a deserted place -.-''

My doubts was soon answered...

I saw a human figure riding his bicycle towards where the dogs are,
He is an old man in his 60's,
I tried to warn him about the dogs but I couldn't seem to voice out in fear to be discovered by the dogs.
(I don't wanna play catching with the dogs again... -.-'')

Something strange happens,
The dogs were quiet,
But were excited when the old man approach them.
The man, alighted his bicycle and took out a red plastic bag (probabily food) and gave the dogs.

As the old man leaves,
I went up to the old man and asked him about the dogs.
He told me that,
These are stray dogs and he can't leave them alone to starve.
So everyday after work,
He will bring some internal organs of the pigs/chicken from the market to feed it to the dogs.

I told him about my erm...interesting incident with the dogs,
But he won't believe me and left after saying bye...

Well...
Even I do pity the dogs but...
If the dogs ever bite someone,
The person can be seriously injured.
What if the dog bite a childern?
The child may even die...
(ouch... >.<)

Sometimes we have to show pity to others especially humans,
But we have to weight the consequences.
(In this case dogs... ^^)

This same goes to our actions,
We have to weight our consequences to each of our actions,
This is why there is a saying,
'Think thrice before you do'

Chinese New Year

You know what is the best time of the year for all chinese?
(I mean kids, certainly not for adults ^^)

It is Chinese New Year!
It starts from the 1st day of the lunar calendar and last for 15 days in total.
On these days we will bring our family out
And we will visit our friends and relatives.
2 mandarin oranges together with some gifts will be given to our host of the day,
There we will exchange greeting of blessings.

Families with more children will rejoice in these days,
Because each children will receive 2 red packets from the adults.
(More children = more $$ :D)
While adults will be emptying their wallet to the kids who will be eagerly ask for 'Hong Bao' with both hands stretched.

You know why Mandarin oranges are always given in 2
Heard of a chinese saying that says, '好事成双'?
It means good things come in pairs,
That is why Mandarin Orange comes in 2 ^^

Standing at the doorstep of each household,
Chinese words are seen to be placed inverted.
Maybe you will ask,
Is it because they are half asleep when they did the decorations?
No no no... it is because the word 'invert' in chinese means '倒' which sounds like '到' meaning 'come'.
The most common word that is placed inverted is non other than '福' which means 'blessing'.
When inverting the word, it means 'blessing come'.

Having a blessed year is what most people wanted and hope for.
Do you not?
(If i have not remember wrongly, there is a chinese saying that says '福运到来迎新春')

~Open House~

Today is the Open House of NYP,
And some smart guy stationed me at the booth with 3 tanks of cute little mice.
I am to explain to the visitors which mostly consist of students and teachers about what are these mice used for and reply to some stupid questions they ask.

Questions like, why are these mice so small which I returned them stupid answers. ^^

Thinking back...
Without these people asking stupid questions, life will actually become a bit boring.
Don't you agree?

Life is just like a balance, there is a balance of the people who uses their brains and those who don't.
If all people use their brains, life will be really stressful. If all don't use their brains, well... the society won't improve.
But if there is a balance of people who use and who don't use their brains, life will be more relaxing but still improvement of life will progress.

In this case, there is a large group of 'kids' i was explaining to.
Like anyone, I felt nervous when talking to a crowd.
Thx to this girl who ask stupid question, which actually takes away my nervousness.
But the poor girl got laugh at after I answered her with some stupid answers.

Lesson learnt, use you brain at the right place at right time.
Especially when asking a question,
USE YOUR BRAIN!!! =D

(But it didn't hurt to talk crap sometimes ^^)

ps. by any case, that open house was quite enjoyable =)

~~Exams~~

Exam... The word that brings horror to most people, (normal people)
The word that can make people insaint.
Some will be seen staying up late burning midnight oil,
Panada eyes emerge from each induviduals
For they will meet their trail of survival in the exam hall in few days time.

Drawing near to their impending doom,
They curse themselve for not being well prepared.

Thus, some try to find an easy way out,
Cheating,
Cheating on their own conscience,
Their teachers,
Their Classmates,
and ofcourse themselves.

Every year, 356 day,
Someone out there,
Is cheating on others,
Not just in exams,
But also in daily life.

A question came across my mind,
Why do people cheat?

Finally, after some thinking,
I think I found the answer,
It is because people wants to be the best,
And they wanted to be famous.
In other word, they like to win not lose.

Being the best, they will become famous,
To be famous they have to win,
Logical right?

But is that for eternal?
No,
What they are doing is just short-term,
Once they are found out they will be infamous.
They will lose everything they have,
Including their conscience,
Because they have already betrayed their conscience.

What they have left,
Is their sence of guilt.

As we are just humans not saints,
We will do wrong once in a while,
All we have to do,
Is to change.
Change and try not to repeat the mistake.

What has been done,
Cannot be undone,
But what have not happened,
Can be prevented.

I do not deny, I have not cheated in any exams or anyone in my daily life.

Recalling what I have done for the last 2 hours,
I have just cheated in maplestory using bot. =D

Eventhough, I talk about all the crap about cheating,
I know changing is a really hard thing to do =P

(Instead of using they in the passage, I might as well use we ^^)
(Just that I don't like to admit :))

Hey Happy New Year and Merry Christmas Everyone

Finally one year had passed and a new exciting year of 2006 has come.

New Year,
Right from the words,
it tells you to start get new life with new car, new house, new furnitures, new cloths, new hairstyle, new dippers, new nose rings and lastly new wife ^^

Ops did i said new wife?
Sorry that was a mistake, ^^
sometimes things the older the better.

Things or people like you friends from your good old Secondary school or even from your kindergarten.
They are those 'things' that should be kept older the better,
The longer you have known each other,
the stronger the bond of relationship that you and your friends have with each other.
If they are of opposite sex,
Both of you might even end up as couples,
Living happily ever after,
Awww... isn't that sweet :)

While as for things that you feel old and wanted to throw away,
Isn't it better to give to those who are poor economically?
Why waste things which can be useful for others or even can save their lifes?

Things like blanket for instant,
People freeze to death every year because they don't have enough blankets to keep them warm.
While some filty rich ass (sry but I am quite fond of the word ass ^^) throw their one year old blanket into the GOLD plated dusbin of their's.
These people although are rich economically but are poor in spirit,
In other word they SUX!!!
They never think of others,
And only know how to think of themselves.
One word s-e-l-f-i-s-h.
(If u are one of them, I will like to say sry, so pls don't hire killers and kill me ok?)

But on other hand,
I was so touch by this old man whom I had read about.
He is currently at his 70's
Although he is not rich,
He always help his neighbour in many little ways which can be done by any of us if we are willing to.

His neighbour was an widow with 2 young kids,
One is 6, another is 7.
Her husband died in an shipwreck,
2 years after she gave birth to her second child.
As she need to take care of her kids at home,
She can only so some work like sewing for a living,
Having an income of no more than S$300 per month.
The basic needs like filling up the stomach have even become a problem.

His 70 year old neighbour aid her simply by buying an extra box of fried rice every night after his meal at the nearby coffee shop (food center)
By doing so, the widow and her child will be able to at least have one decent meal,
And on christmas or on their birthday,
Their sumptuous meal will be 2 box of fried rice + a chicken drum stick.

This old man said,
The happiest is when the widow called him 'father',
And when they are together it is like a real family,
A place filled with warmth and love.

Though they are not rich,
The important thing is that
They are happy
And happiness is something that cannot be brought with money.

Nothing is certain ^^

Today is such a LONG day.

First to start with,
As usual 3hours of boring Protein practical.
Then followed by 1 hour of talk about genes.
And to end with 5 nice long hours of lectures.

Well... actually I don't really mind lectures,
But sitting in the ice cold lecture hall with your lectures talking to you in monotone,
That was like... giving you a extra dose of sleeping pills.

But this is still good for one thing,
When you are lying on your bed counting sheeps.
It is better for you to record down his lecture and make use of it.

Which I find it really useful except for finding myself being late for school the next day.

This shows that,
Bad things can be good sometimes,
While good things can be bad sometimes.
Nothing is certain in one way or another,
It is all about how you look at it.
^^

~Dogs~

Enjoying the breeze that gently slid on my face,
Looking up the sky admiring the night sky.

This is what i called life ^^
Relax and having absolutely no worries.

Riding on the deserted pathment beside the 'forest' near Compass point.

Something caught my eye,
It was 4 huge dogs lying lazily in the middle of the pathment.
Instinct told me not to disturb them,
Being adventurous (stupid) I decide to cycle pass them on the road to catch a glimpse on them.
As i cycle pass them,
Suddenly the leader of the pack stood up and started following me.

Being nervous, I started peddling faster
And faster...
Then the dogs suddenly broke into a run and started chasing after me as if I just stole their bones. -.-''

Fear started to creep up my spine,
Before I know it, I was peddling madly as if dogs are chasing me. (well... as a matter of fact, dogs are chasing me >.<")

Even as I peddle at my top speed, the leader of the pack started to close in onto me, while the others keep on chasing me from the pathment barking from time to time.

My heart pounced like drums hitting at the climax of the show,
I thought I am a goner.

Then suddenly, the leader of the pack stopped,
Looking behind,
A truck looms into view towards my direction.

I am saved!
(If u are wondering why, animals are afraid of big moving object, especially those which makes lots of sounds ^^)

Maintaining my speed,
I cycled out of the way from the truck and to the traffic lights.

Looking back at the Damn dogs, I swear I will never cycle pass them and say hi again.
Because they are too rude -.-''

Lesson learnt, never say hi to stangers
In this case... DOGS

Life

Sometimes, living in the mist of so many people
I will rather be with the animals,
Because human are just too complicated.

Their actions, their way of thinking,
Sometimes may become really scary. >.<
On the other hand,
Being with animals e.g. bird for instant,
You will have a feeling of peace just by looking at them.
Through them you will be able to see how life can be so simple.
They can just spread their wings and travel around freely.
Their only worries are just to be able to feed and find shelter as a mean for survival.
Their eyes, their actions, are so pure and holds no meaning of wickedness.
They won't be thinking anything in the back of their mind.
What you see is their true-self.

I dare say this is something that you won't see in ANY human beings.
(If you are an exception tell me ^^)

Human living in the current society are living with a mask on their faces.
They mask their true-self and try to put on a mask that will appease others,
Changing it if that mask fails.

This is why there is a saying that says, "人心隔肚皮".

True meaning for life
Is to be happy
Not greed
Not honor
Not anythings else

To meet true happiness
Is to bring happiness
To others
Because this is when
Others will bring true happiness
To You. ^^

A feeling of mine just urged me to write this ^^

The Lesson

I should have done this post yesterday but...
I am too tired to do so (or can't do so)

A stupid mistake for the search for the few seconds of exitment,
the next minute finding myself rolling on the ground with pain.
It was like a flash of lightning,
it is just too sudden,
and there is no way to avoid it as I am just too dumb.

Cycling on the road,
looking for the right moment, twist the handle 50 degrees and blam!
The next moment i was rolling on the floor with 2 pitch of blood covered wound.
One on my arm another on my knee... Ouch >.<

I was trying to do some dumb high speed sharp turn on the road,
which need the help of the front + a bit of the back brake. (which is spoiled -.-'')

Lesson learned, ALWAYS check your equipment before doing anything!

80% of you will say:" Ya, ofcourse you should have done that, I will check my equipment before doing anythig for sure."

The truth is, MOST people only know how to criticize others but not themself and that is 99% of all people. (including myself)

Bioprocess Practical

Looking through my practical manual,
And to the big belly fermentor,
My mind started to race,
How were we supposed to name the parts of the fermentor?
Red, black, white, big, small, medium wire... you name it,
Clamps, tubes, probes, gauge, filters
And
Even female coupling
(Well... I never knew even parts of the fermentor can get married)

Fortunately, luck had mercy on us,
Lying on the bench top was our lecture notes. (or is our lecture's)
Opening up the notes and we started searching for the right page in the 300 to 400 or so pages.
Finally, lying open was the page that showed the the different parts of the fermentor.
With a sight of relief we took out our weapons (pencil) and and started scribbling on our pratical manual,
Racing against time as our lecture was going to come back any minute.
In no time, we finish copying, but before we knew it,
Our lecture was watching the whole process.

What happened in the end?
Up to you to think about it ^^

Yup, these are the lyrics of the song that were always broadcast in my secondary school.

These words though are simple but they change my life entirely. From an idot in school who study in the last class of the express stream to believing in myself and work hard and obtained a acceptable result in my O's =)

Just like our everyday life, words which are spoken all around us, though simple, they may give us an inspiration or even change our entire life or our way of thinking.

So open up your ears... and listen... ^^
