*Back story*
Well that time has come around again and our girls along with two new recruits, Camden (Sydney's brother) and Allison (Emma's sister) are preparing for our 3rd annual Lemon-Aid stand for cancer.* Sydney has really been touched this year by a family friend who is sadly loosing his battle to cancer. After I put Sydney to bed a few days back, I heard her crying. When I asked her what was wrong, she said, "I don't want people to have cancer anymore. I'm sad my friend's dad is sick with cancer." I couldn't put it more perfectly. The next morning she told me, "Mom, I want to do our Lemon-Aid stand for Russell. Is that ok?" I replied, "That is a perfect fabulous idea!"

*The kids had a goal of $400 last year and AMAZINGLY doubled their goal to $800! Anson and I were taken back by all the support everyone gave Sydney and her friend. We thank you! In the past two years, they have donated a total of $1000 with your help! Well the kids this year have set a high set a goal of $1000 for Russell! So if you are needing to wet your whistle or need something sweet on Friday, feel free to stop by!

FYI...I have had several people ask if they can donate even if they can't make it or live in Tracy. Yes, you can and thanks for asking!

After The Bucket Hunt.....

After our fun Easter Bucket hunt, we headed off to search for some eggs with friends.

Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Riddle for inviting our family.

Easter Bucket Search!

It looks like we are going on another fun little Easter "Bucket" hunt again this year!  While I was doing the dishes, I received the following text on my phone for the kids.

Text: Happy Easter Camden and Sydney!  It's time for a hunt.  Make sure you work together and not get ahead.  This clue will hekp you to the very start.  Search high and low for an Easter flag.  There you will find the 1st official clue!  Good Luck!

Clue 1: Let’s get hunting for your special Easter treat.  Ready..Set.Here we go! You’ll have to get your parents to take you to your 1st clue.  Make your way to a special place where you can find every kind of cereal in the world.  Look high by your favorite cereal.

Clue 2:  Great Job! Next you have to think extra hard. Really, really hard. It’s the place you both have learned how to “hip-hop” to the music. You’ll have to look closely for the clue. It is hidden in the front………

Clue 3:  WOW! You did it again!  It is not easy to stump you two.  A,B,C and 1,2,3 are really the only clues I should give you for your next clue, but if that is not enough just think..where is the place you two have to “THINK” all day.  Check the spots where birds like to think for the clue.

Clue 4: Super Smartie kids you are! Take second and really think of the place where “practice to hit, run 1st, run 2nd, run 3rd and home.” Your clue is close to here.  A hidden cave (a place like where you could search for a bear).  No bears live here, only bunnies like to hide.  There are lots of rocks, maybe some water and a trail to lead your way.

Clue 5: Hippy Hop! You did it again!  To find your final clue, think of a spot where I can find yummy lettuce and a big long sandwich for you. This place is close to the place you can get movies out of a red box.  You’ll have to ask nicely for your clue.  Make sure you tell them you are on a fun hunt and show them this clue.

Clue 6: AHHHH! Well Done!  It’s finally time to lead you to your Easter treat.  You will find it somewhere neat.  It’s at a place you love to visit.  One of my favorite four legged friends live there.she really likes to bark and jump.  I know that you have slept under the stars at this place.

Happy, Happy, Happy Easter to you both!

One Perfect Blue Eye!

Sydney has been squinting a lot lately and telling me she needs glasses.  I assumed that she wanted to be like a few of her classmates that have glasses so I've ignored her a bit.  Several weeks back, I had Sydney's teacher watch her and ask her a few questions from the back of the room on the white board and  Ms. Grabert said, "Yep, she needs glasses!  Go get her checked."

I finally got around to it a couple weeks back and Sydney could not have been more excited to go.  She was soooo hoping that her eyes were bad enough for glasses.
Reading the board.....
Looking at a book with 3D pictures in it before the putting on the glasses.
Sydney jumped and giggled when she put the glasses on....there were all of sudden big bugs right in front of her. Surprise!
Sydney LOVED, LOVED, LOVED and smiled at every test she went through with hopes of getting glasses.
Well, lucky for her she needs them!  She was super thrilled!
So my sweet Sydney got what she wanted!  One bad eye which earns her a pair of glasses (very low prescription).  Thank you to Liz for taking her shopping.  There are so many choices and plus while I was trying to help her, I thought all the glasses looked weird on her.  Just not use to seeing them on her little face.  But they found a pair and she looked cute.  Now she just has to wait 3 weeks for them!

Visit From Papa!

For the last 3 years (might only be 2), Papa Shaw has come for a visit from Mayalisa late January during his business trips to Monetary, California.  It is a perfect time for a visit.  The holidays are over and we are missing family from Utah and he shortly shows up.  My favorite things is that I never tell the kids he is coming.  This year we came home from allergy shots and there he was in the middle of the road in front of our house talking to our neighbor.  The kids were THRILLED!  Quickly following the excited they asked, "Is Grandma here?"  Nope, just a Papa visit.
They got to show off their wii skills for Papa.  Camden is hilarious!  He becomes super wii possessed.  Turns into a completely different little boy.  Sometimes to wii hyper and needs to take a break.

Sydney play wii with her own flare and style.
Camden just being happy that Papa is here for some quality time.

Happy Birthday To ME!

....back on February 3rd!  I guess if I didn't post about it, I wouldn't really be another year older, right?  Nope....It still counts.  Another post buried in my draft posts.
I can't remember all the details, but I know I had a nice day.  Anson took the day off from work.  We went shopping for a bit and then came home and he did all of my "honey do-list" items.  It was so nice to check sooo many little things off our LONG list of things that we seem to never get around too.

Since we celebrated my birthday the weekend before my birthday with friends, Anson decided we needed to have my traditional pink heart shaped cake with mint-chocolate chip ice cream with all of my little friends.
Thanks Sydney and Camden for a fun cake and ice cream party!  (this picture of me looks weird.  it looks like my right eye isn't looking at the camera, but it is.  it's that dang red-eye issue i have that photoed weird.  i "love" my red eyes!"
