Oliver, Jaime and Me

This is Oliver and his very sweet 'mama'....
sadly...she has to go back to her job starting this Wednesday.

Then...
it's going to be Oliver, Jaime and me...
from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
four days a week.

Skittles has been very jealous of Oliver...but I'm hoping it was
just a 'heat' thing.
She's FINALLY over the back to back heat of the past two months....
and beginning to get back to normal...and I'm praying
that means she won't be jealous and 'barky' whenever I hold Oliver...
I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm very much looking forward to it!!

Nothing Much New

I don't have a lot of 'news'....but I wanted to share the cool
frames one of my collectors did to frame a few of my
Steampunk Girl prints.

She painted the frames with a black enamel and then
glued some little watch cogs and wheels to the corners....
so very cool!!

I'm working on getting some Zodiac Girl pendants made for
my shop....but I ran out of supplies,
so I've got to order more.
I want to wait until they are all ready to list before listing any of them.

Starting May 26th...my schedule is going to change for the next few
months.
Jaime and I are watching the youngest grandbabies again this summer.
They're not really babies anymore...
Ava's going to be six in June and Simon was seven in October...
wow...they are growing fast.

Still they 'bore' easily and tend to wear me out quickly...
so I'm sure they'll keep us 'hopping'.
I feel bad because this is really going to cut into Jaime's work schedule,
but the constant 'needs' of two little children, I do need her help...

We were so hoping to be all caught up and maybe even little ahead of the game,
before needing to get up with the chickens...
it just didn't happen!
Ah...such is life!

Hopefully this week
we'll at least be able to get caught up a bit more
than we are currently.
Course...I've got my sisters coming for a week this Wednesday...
wonder how that's going to work out??

I've Got a 'Plan'

Having the kids for the next two weeks...presents a 'challenge' of sorts.
I've put many things on the 'back burner' ...
since I have to have the daylight hours to work on
actual paintings...
(my eyesight isn't what it used to be)
and I'm not brave enough to try this
with curious little fingers hovering close by.

During one of the visits with my husband's brother...
he was chuckling about watching my husband and I...
back in the day...
painting and assembling clocks that we made and sold
on Military bases in the Midwest.

"You used to sit there and paint with a baby in one hand
and a paintbrush in the other."

And...I did.

But..I'm older...and probably a little less patient these days...
so I've got a plan...so that I can work 'after hours'.

I've painted several backgrounds for some check covers...
a large journal and a small journal.
I'll sketch out the subjects on those and paint them
after the kids go home.
I won't get as much done...but it will keep things going.

I like to try to list 'something' new...at least once a week'
in my Shop.
So this way, I should be able to do watch the kids and still list something
new over the next two weeks.

If that doesn't work...I'll do some new digital pieces.
I can work on those later at night...since it's all computer work.
I'm just 'bound and determined' to make sure
I have some new pieces to list!

Course...I still have my Joey the Bat piece that I am working on...
I've got a background painted...but I'm thinking I might want
to wait and get some different canvas...
we'll see.

Two weeks of Baby Sitting

These are my two youngest 'grandbabies'...
not really babies anymore.
Their mother took this photo earlier this summer...aren't they precious:)

Their mother starts her new position August 9th...
and they don't start school until the 19th...
so
Jaime and I will be 'baby sitting'
during that time.

Suffice it to say...
I probably won't be creating too much
during that period...
so I will have to have my
piece done before August 9th.
