Desperate measures and so on...

Remember when I was looking for kraft card everywhere to use it with my Prismas? And how long it took me. And how I was trying out all sort of alternatives out of sheer frustration?

Well, this image is stamped and coloured on MANILLA ENVELOPE, lol Beat that!

OK, now that I've sufficiently amused you I should also mention that this card is for Stamp Something DT and our theme is TAG OR POCKET SOMETHING. Please note I have used both! (feeling very proud of myself here!) Our sponsor this time is Whiff Of Joy so head over for a chance of fab prize!!

The papers are from Jillybean Soup. Sentiment is inside the pocket, on the tag and no, I didn't take a photo...duh. The wish list behind the image is a stamp from Whimsy - so cute and fitted the card perfectly!!

This is one of those cards where all sorts of bits and pieces keep finding their way out of the drawers onto my desk. I like the all-kraft effect though. Lush.

I'd like to enter these challenges:
City Crafter - Make It Krafty
Double Dutch - Christmas
Spoon Full Of Sugar - Christmas Card
Allsorts - last minute Christmas
Hanna and friends - Christmas
A Crafty Little Place - Tag It!

Thanks for looking and big hugs!

7 Kids College Fund Challenge - Sketch and Fall Theme

Hi and happy Wednesday - and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL WHO IS 2 TODAY!!

Two weeks have gone (where??) and we have a new challenge up for you at 7KCF Challenge Blog. Our own fantastic Suzanne set the theme this time - she has created a gorgeous sketch - with an added requirement for the card to be fall-themed.

There's no tradition here to really celebrate autumn specifically so I chose to create a card with autumnal yellow and gold colours using one of my favorite stamps from WOJ WILLOW WITH HOT CHOCOLATE. Such a cosy, timeless and versatile image! It's out of stock at the moment at 7 Kids College Fund but Tab will have it back in stock shortly.

The papers are from gorgeous Basic Grey Origins collection - one of my favorites of theirs. Rich, deep, beautiful colours and suitable basically all year round! Not many lines like that! I am now officially all out though. :(

The image was coloured with Distress Inks and yes, I know there's a piece of fluff stuck to Willow's face on the close-up. Didn't notice it before and now it's too late to take a new photo. Story of my life.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts. It's a old set but I use it very often - lovely sayings and also suitable for array of occasions and styles.

Tab has now loads of new stuff from Hero Arts in stock at 7 Kids College Fund, btw. Halloween and Fall stuff check it out in added this week section.

The flowers are all from Petaloo and that lovely green lace I got from my wonderful friend Tara as a RAK. And of course I couldn't resist adding some flat back pearls. Luvs pearls, what can I say...

I would like to enter this card into following challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs - autumn colors
Pollycraft - autumn colors
Paper Players - old olive, more mustard, cajun craze, early expresso
Allsorts - colors of autumn
Marks Finest Paper - fall colors
Totally Gorjuss - flowers
Fairy Fun Fridays (2 weeks) - embossing
Paper Play - autumn
Stamp Insanity - use elements in threes

Thank you so much for looking and happy crafting!

Happy lion

Easter has interfered with my crafting (and blogging) big time. Now that the egg hunts and trips to relatives and endless circle of muffin-baking is behind me for another year, I can once again resume normal functions. lol

I used this lovely lion from Whiff of Joy Party Animals to make a birthday card for a two year old boy. Isn't it a happy coincidence that the lion has two balloons?

I pulled out my distress inks - had got the new colours and had to try them out, obviously. I love the effect distress inks give, really nice vibrant watercolour effect.

Papers are from MME Bloom and Grow range. I am officially addicted to MME papers, if I could have them all, I would. And then I would stroke them every night before I go to bed and weep every time I have to cut into them.

Photo corners from DCWV, brads Pink Paislee, glitter strips from Papermania (amazing value and great fun). I don't remember where the felt ribbon is from. Punch is from MS.

And of course there was a lot of Stickles involved ... I truyly am a magpie. lol

Thanks for looking and happy crafting!

Hugs

Here ducky-ducky-ducky...

Oh, the day I discovered Whiff Of Joy website - I won't say here that I heard angels singing but it was pretty darn close!

WOJ challenges are always gorgeous as well, even if I don't plan to take part I sneak to their blog every week to ogle at DT work.

This time Katharina's sketch was way to tempting to resist :D Of course I was reaching for beloved angels or Charlotte at first but then decided different and used one of the gorgeous whimsical Party Animals images. Sooo cute AND fun!

Making Memories Flower Patch papers fitted in with my theme perfectly - love that stack. My only complaint is that it's gummed too heavily, it's hard to get pahes out without ripping them. Anyone else has that problem?

Rest of materials used:
Cardstock: Bazzill Bling, Core'dinations, Papermill
PP: Making Memories
Stamps: Whiff of Joy
Image coloured with Prismacolour pencils and Sansodor
Ribbon: Poppicrafts and stash
Nestabilities circles
Flowers: Prima
Brads: ummm, my stash, don't remember the brand
Martha Stewart Border punch

Happy Easter and thanks for looking!

Annika

Whoa, my first combined challenges

There's quite a few firsts in that little card really.

1) My first combined challenge
2) My first Simon Says Challenge card (well, it IS their first challenge...)
3) My first time to attempt to make a flower myself (erm, OK, I've seen better results but it's MY flower and onto the card it goes!)

Maybe I can think of something else - nope, not really!

I used Friday Sketchers sketch as a base for the card, wonderful clean lines this time and DT work fab as always ... when I grow up I want to be on DT as well! :D
Card recipe:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Papermill, Core'dinations
PP: K&Co
Stamps: Whiff Of Joy, Autumn Leaves
Image coloured with ProMarkers
Nestabilities Curved Rectangles and Nesting Flowers
BossKut vine
Lace, velvet ribbon, tulle and pearls from my stash
Flower made with ancient scraps found in my drawer

Thanks for looking!
Annika
