It's Official

Fall is finally here! Now, if the weather would just change to reflect the season, maybe it would feel like it! It was in the mid 80's yesterday and so hot, I even got sunburnt while mowing the lawn. Yesterday Terry finished up on most of the HVAC to where he will be able to call in an inspection today. I even helped up him in the attic crawl space wrapping the duct with that itchy insulation, not the greatest experience but I am so glad it is done!
A couple cards using some Basic Grey and Dasiy D's paper. I glittered the chipboard and added some crochet trim and handmade flowers that my friend Jennifer made for me.

A set of Shabby Christmas tags using Melissa Frances papers, some lace and pom pom trim and some chipboard stars I painted, distressed and glittered.

I made these little Gingerbread Men ornaments...

And from the negative piece of chipboard from the ornments, I made a couple cards. I couldn't bring myself to throw them away so why not recycle!

Keeping my fingers crossed that the inspection passes so we can get the sheetrock up!!
Have a wonderful, beautiful weekend!

The Last Bounty of Summer

I have to admit I was a little sad yesterday as I popped my last cherry tomato in my mouth, oh I am going to miss those! I headed over to my grapes and managed to get about 10 and I savored every one, knowing that I won't get the sweet taste of a freshly picked grape for another year! I was greatly surprised to find a large tomato, not sure how it survived all the critters that seem to get to them before me but I was very happy with one more! Thank goodness for our local farmer's market as they are still carrying tomatos and lots more fresh produce, at least for a few more weeks, all is not yet lost!

Just a few crafty things. I bought these wood snowmen several months ago and of course the first thing I thought of was how great would these be to crackle! I painted on the base coat and let dry, then a coat of the crackle and let dry and then painted the top coat and within seconds, it starts crackling, it is just amazing how it does that! The base coat is the color that will show through the crackles. I wanted it took snowy so I used a blue shimmery paint for the bottom coat and an ivory color for the top. You have to work fast putting on the top coat as you can't paint over where it has already crackled, it messes it up terribly. (I have had my share of mess ups!)

Then with a little embellishing, this is how they turned out.....

This is a notecard and tag set I made. I cut the trees with sizzix, painted, distressed and added german glass glitter. Background papers are new Making Memories Flocked Snowflake.

We are still working on the HVAC in the house, in fact, Terry and two of his friends are helping him today and they plan on finishing the top two floors. Maybe the sheetrock will go up next week???????
Oh, I have some exciting news to share next week! (No, Terry and I didn't get married, not yet anyways!)
Have a wonderful week!

Time is Flying By

I can't believe it is the middle of September and summer is almost over. My garden is almost dead although my cherry tomatoes are still hanging on but I don't think there will be much left after this week. I am cherishing each and every little tomatoe I eat so I can remember the sweet taste of them to get me through the winter.
Just a few note cards I have been working on, this first set is embellished with handmade paper, My Minds Eye glitter chipboard, lace, trim, a little sewing and some bling...

This second set is embellished with Dream Street papers, felt, rhinestones, lace and Deja' View chipboard.

I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Funny for the Day

I always keep a tube of chapstick type lip moisturizer in my craft room close at hand, my lips just get dry sometimes so it is great to have it right near me for when I need it. Today I am sitting in my craft room, working on some Christmas tags and noticed that my lips were dry so without looking, I grabbed my chapstick and proceeded to apply it to my lips, it felt a little stickier than usual so I looked at the tube and it was my GLUESTICK!!! hee hee hee! Luckily I didn't get too much on before I noticed it but I'll tell you, I had a very good laugh at myself!

Seeing I am in the funny mode, I thought I would post some of my felt pumpkins that I have been working on. I love the whimsy pumpkin faces so I thought I would create a few of my own and make some cards and tags. I drew some faces out on paper for ideas, then freehand cut out the pieces, then glued them on with my chapstick, (hee hee) I mean my gluestick to the felt, then stitched around the pieces.

And a Christmas card using Melissa Frances papers and chipboard. I painted the snowman hat and arms with acrylic paint, then added a layer of glitter over the whole thing.

Not much else going on with the house. Terry is still working on installing the duct and HVAC system and is hoping to finish up this weekend, keeping my fingers crossed!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!
