We have a forecast for snow tomorrow, some of the news stations saying we will get 3-6 inches and more locally. I'll believe it when I see it as our snow forecast has not been very good this year. Because we are expecting snow, I thought I would post a few snow cards. This first one has lots of handmade paper on it. I made the scarf and hat by cutting out the shapes from cardstock, then applying glue and attaching the yarn all around the shape until it was covered, then let it dry. The snowflakes are made with glue, using a fine tip then applying glitter and I made the snow with squiggly lines of glue and applying clear glass beads. They look white int he photo but on the actual card they are clear. I printed the "let it snow" on vellum and applied some liquid applique, which is really cool because when you heat it up it gets all puffy. Sorry the photos are a little dark, it is cloudy and rainy today so the lighting isn't very good. If you click on the photo, you can see the details better.
I used sizzix dies for the tag and tree on this snow tag. The snowman is a punch and I applied some snow-tex to it to give him a snowy look and I glittered his hat. The snow on the ground is a double row of thick white yarn with some glitter added to make it sparkle.
The little chick is a cotton scrap from Crafty Secrets with alittle stickles to highlight him. I added some shimmer shapes by Scrapworks and some paper flowers by Prima with adhesive pearls in the center.
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and thanks for stopping by!

A few things...
It has been a cold and rainy day today. I know spring is just around the corner and from someone who wanted snow so bad, I can't wait for it to warm up! I dream of having a summer garden and picking fresh tomatoes and basil.
This first card was made with K & Co. Urban Rhapsody paper and a Maya Road chipboard butterfly that I painted and glittered.
This next card was made using K. & Co Amy Butler papers.
This is some of my new tags I made. I drew out a pattern for a kite and cut it into 4panels, then glued to paper and then machine stitched around each panel and cut out the kite, leaving a small border. I attached some cotton tie and tied some fabric scraps to it to make a tail. And, a kite wouldn't be complete without some cloud paper!
And last but not least is a silly picture of Rocco who was actually sleeping! I tiptoed to get the camera and I was so happy he didn't wake up! I managed to get a couple photos and then he turned over but I think this photo is priceless, I love my Rocco kitty!
I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week!

Happy Friday!
I can't believe Valentine's day is tomorrow, this year is flying by so quickly!
We are keeping it low key tomorrow, I'm making Terry his favorite sandwich for dinner which I call "Picassos" which is a rosemary olive oil bread, with pesto, provolone cheese, roasted red peppers, carmelized onions and chicken breasts which I pound out flat and cook in a little olive oil with italian seasoning, then spread a little olive oil on the outside of each slice of bread, layer all the ingredients and put it in the panini press until they are a little crispy and hot and gooey and they are oh so yummy! Then for dessert I'm making a brownie sundae, and I'll put a little cherry preserves in the brownie mix to give them a little more flavor. Okay, those are probably more for me than for him but what is Valentine's day without a little (or alot) of chocolate! I'm going to make him a card, (no, I haven't done it yet, I'm bad) and then tomorrow I'll also make him some heart shaped frosted sugar cookies so he can have some treats when he is on the road.
Guess what he is getting me, Buttons, lots of buttons, like I don't have enough already! I've got an order in from Frantic Stamper, one of my favorite on-line stores. I love this store because the photographs of her items are so big and she always has lots of new products. Link is on my blog if you want to check it out.
Just a couple crafty things to share, I thought I would try my hand at some rubber stamping. I have had this rubber stamp for years, I love the image of little girl, looking out at the ocean. I stamped on 140lb. watercolor paper, colored it in with watercolor pencils and blended with a Tombow blending pen, which I have had for about 10 years and is a little dried up but if you dip it in water in between blending, it is just like new. I made some clouds but they don't show up too well in the photos, maybe if you click on it to enlarge it might show up better. You know how it is, the cards always look better in person than they do in photos as I think you can never capture all the details in a photo. I sewed each layer separately, and machine stitched with no thread around the last layer and hand embroidered with some matching embroidery floss. By now it was really thick so I smothered the back with a glue stick and attached to the card front, put a piece of paper over the top (picks up residue glue and prevents smearing) and pressed and pressed until it held so there is no stitching showing on the inside. I added some stickles and a cute little starfish. I have to promote my favorite glue stick which is by "The Paper Studio", sold at Hobby Lobby. I have tried lots of glue sticks and this brand seems to hold the best, I even use it when adhering felt to paper and it sticks perfectly.
The inside of the card has a faint blue watercolor border around the white paper but it doesn't show up in the photo very good.
This next project was another one of my Easter ideas, I thought carrots would be fun to attach to an easter basket or easter treat bag. I made a pattern and cut out of orange fleece, then adhered the carrot to 2 layers of cardstock, cut out and machine stitched around the edges. I then punch a hole in the top, cut thin strips of fabric and tied to the carrot and finished with a button, attached with crochet yarn which is knotted in the back and I left 5-6 inches so you can use that to tie to something.
And just a couple tags that were in my etsy store that sold so I am making more this weekend. I was trying to think of Easter things and a chocolate bunny came to mind so I drew a pattern and cut out of brown felt so it would look like chocolate and handstitched around the edges. I had some little flowers left so I attached them and put rhinestones in the middle. On the chick, I drew him (could be a her too!)and cut out of a fluffy yellow fleece, made a beak (attached with one stitch)and used a little black bead for the eye and handstitched the legs and grass.
I better go, I can hear Rocco kitty outside my craft room climbing the walls, litteraly! He does it to get attention, then sits outside my door, meowing and he will do this over and over until I come out. Sometimes he will sit outside my craft room door with his ball and meows until I come out to play. I think is a little spoiled (okay - alot spoiled!)
I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend and especially a Happy Valentines's Day!

We have a winner!

I should of realized he would pick my favorite number!

Bonnie!
Please send me your address Bonnie and I will get these adorable stamps in the mail probably Wed. We are expecting some snow tonight!
Thanks for playing everyone!
Just a couple felt projects to share, I was trying to think of fun summer things to make and thought of popsicles so I drew out a pattern, added some buttons and a cardstock backing and a stick collected from rub-on's and came up with a felt popsicle.
I got these cute sizzix dies about a month ago and this is my first project with them. I cut the poodle (her name is Fifi)out of white felt, then again in pink felt and cut the poofy parts off the pink and attached them to the white poodle and stitched around them. I chalked her a little, added some seed bead eyes, a bow and glittered her paws (they look like hoofs to me!). I also stitched around some felt flowers and added button centers.
I also got this flower sizzix die the same time, an etsy customer had recently suggested some sympathy tags so I thought they would be perfect for that. I made two different sets using Basic Grey Urban Couture paper for the tags and alternated the frames and centers on each set. I cut the leaves out of green felt, then again in white felt to get the different layers, then I attached them to cardstock, cut them out and then sewed around each leaf with my sewing machine.
We did get a little dusting of snow last night, it is all gone now and they are calling for a little more tonight but I think whatever falls tonight will stay around most of the day tomorrow as we are only supposed to get into the mid 30's as our high temp. They've got the mid 60's next week in the forecast, perfect weather to go down to the property and do a little spring yard work!
I hope you all have a wonderful week and thanks for stopping by!
