It drives me nuts when bag boys at the grocery put gallons of milk in plastic bags, as if it's not easier to carry smooth jug handles than it is to carry thin plastic bags that cut into your fingers. Not to mention, it's a waste of plastic bags.
I hate that.

"Bleachers" at the Roman amphitheater in Pula, Croatia; no kissing under these.

I hate that too - so I always make a point of saying "I don't need a bag for that." My other grocery pet peeve is plastic bags in general - the clerk/bagger thinks they can't hold more than 3 things, so you end up with a million bags. So I ask for paper (which I use to recycle my newspapers) or bring my own reusable bags.
If you don't have much stuff, self checkout alleviates most of the bagging annoyances.
They always ask at my grocery store...about the milk and bag, not kissing under the bleachers.
I used the self check-out last night and the attendant bagged my milk while the groceries were scanned.
I've also combined the items in some bags and handed the empties back to the cashier.
I wonder if the back row of the amphitheater was for making out in ancient times.
Ditto. Also, I'm using nothing but canvas bags now, because they are probably going to put a surcharge on plastic bags in this state come next year so I might as well get in the habit.
