hmmm. let me talk about yesterday! played badminton in the morning with the "kungfu hustle" peeps (well, most of us are) @ clementi. hmmm. as what eugene said, badminton now has a whole new meaning. don't believe in it though.

then i rushed to peiying's house @ jurong east to PIA homework! is P.I.A still = Pupil's Initiative Assessment? yay peiying rocks my socks. she and i have loads in common! let's see.

1) we both prefer simple and bland food. (shanghai food was bleagh to us)
2) we both adore energy and converse! (e.g converse school shoes!)
3) we both have the same sense of humour. (which includes planning to play a funny prank on nainai and stelly when school reopens... shush!)
4) we both have the same interests when shopping! (window maybe, no money)
5) we both want to get into IB! (although we're already starting to despair)
6) we detest smokers. (e.g our tour guide and bus drivers in shanghai)

i tell you, smoking sucks. smoking causes lung cancer. and this is no joke or lie, it's a fact.

anyway, peiying and i were talking about the earthquake/tsunami tragedy over lunch yesterday. we somehow linked it to the 911 incident, the flood in noah's time and... the end of the world? i took the chance to spread the Word to her, but she told me that she had been wanting and waiting to attend church since she was three!! but her mum doesn't allow. aiyoh. but i told her, "don't stop wanting okay? keep on wanting and waiting."

talking to her about the incident did cheer me up a little. yeah. discussed about 'twelfth night' and exchanged notes on romantic comedies. ooh i like viola. and i must remember it's pronounced as VEE-OH-LA, not VAI-OH-LA. "no strings attached!" so lame -.-"

i've been having these impulses to kill my phone these days. so annoying. our prank plan almost pao tang-ed because of my dumb phone. nooo. should say that i almost threw my phone out of the window because of the prank plan. okay. time to finish up my lit. yay nigel and family coming over for new year dinner on saturday!

thank God, for the safety of Singapore. although there'll definitely be people starting to doubt God, instead of giving thanks.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

this is a xmas post. heard from simontan that the 'x' in 'xmas' actually means CHRIST in greek. yeah. so whoever you are, don't be too agitated when you see the word 'xmas' next time. *grins*

well, it's time to tell the Christmas Story. please be patient and read the story..

"In the village of Nazareth lived Joseph and Mary. Joseph was a carpenter and Mary was a young virgin who would become his wife. Mary told Joseph of a dream in which she was visited by an angel who told her she had been chosen to bear the Son of God and his name was to be Jesus.

"One day the emperor of Rome sent notice that all persons were to register for a new tax. They were instructed to return to the towns of their birth. Joseph and Mary left Nazareth for Bethlehem. Mary who was with child, and close to the birth, rode on a donkey while Joseph walked beside her. They travelled for many days and only rested at night.

"When they reached Bethlehem it was night. They looked for a place to rest but there were no empty rooms when they reached the inn. The inn keeper took pity on them and told them of some caves in the nearby hills that shepherds would stay with their cows and sheep.

"So Joseph and Mary went up into the hills and found the caves. In one cave was a stable room. Joseph cleaned it and made beds of fresh hay. He found a feeding trough which he cleaned and filled with hay to use as a crib. The next night Mary gave birth to a son and they named him Jesus, as the angel had said.

"When the child was born a great star appeared over Bethlehem that could be seen for miles around. In the fields nearby shepherds were tending their flocks. An angel appeared to them surrounded by bright light. The shepherds were frightened and tried to run.

" 'Fear Not,' said the angel, 'For I bring you tidings of great joy. For unto you is born this day in Bethlehem - a Saviour who is Christ the Lord.'

" 'And this shall be a sign unto you. You shall find the baby wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.'

"Suddenly the sky was filled with angels, praising God and saying, 'Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth peace, good will toward men.'

"After the angels departed the shepherds set out for Bethlehem. When they reached the cave they found the stable and inside was the child wrapped in cloth.

"As the star shined over Bethlehem, in the east three kings would see it. They knew it was a sign and they set off to follow the star. They travelled on camels for many days over the mountains, and through the deserts, and plains. Always following the bright star.

"When they finally arrived in Bethlehem they found the child in the manger. The 3 kings bowed to their knees and offered gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. They would stay the night in the cave and the next day returned to their lands to spread the news."

yup. you made it! why was Jesus born? He was born for the sake of everyone in this world, to connect us to God. (like student councillors in school, connecting the student body to the teachers, except that Jesus is much greater) "And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

what's the best Christmas present i'd gotten this year? it's not all the Christmas smses received. it's not me finally getting a nice converse bag. it's not seeing so many people, esp. AH SEH, at caroling yesterday night. it's not having a new church.

it's my grandfather FINALLY accepting Christ. rejoice with me!! our prayers have been answered. thank God for giving my mum strength. right now my only wish is to see my grandfather getting baptised before he... uh... you know. yeah. but THANK GOD anyway.

ooh. btw i tell you. i went for the msco concert on thurs night to support my cousin and his friend. and it was GREAT. but i feel really bad for not going to our school band concert. ahhh eleen don't kill me! hehh. anyway, the msco sec4 drummer rocks!! his name is yan deng woohoo! their percussion damn steady. ahhaha.

memories of choral night '03 --> TIAN

brilliant bits and pieces of my sec 2 life...

as what shum had said almost a year ago, "the memories of 2/1 are like a good book. if you read it too many times, you'll get tired of it. but if you take it out once in a while to flip the book, you will be able to savour the joy it brings."

saw jia en in church on sunday. i was soooo happy! you know what this spells? HOPE. wow. couldn't believe my eyes.

Friday, December 17

i abandoned the thought of watching the dr moreau's island whatever-show yesterday night, and turned to san guo instead. hoorah. it's showing the "visiting the thatched cottage thrice" episode today! *feels excited* ZHUGELIANG! can't wait. just read a zhugeliang book today (while munching on fruity bread), and i adore mrs zhuge liang! she's so smart. like her husband.

hmmm. i suddenly thought of 6L today. many memories and thoughts as a primary school kiddo was kept in my secret diary. lalala. NOT SHOWING YOU! *sticks tongue out* (unlike my secondary school memories, which are kept in my old bloggie) ahhhh. i miss 6L! ('6L'=6L+5L)

mr ting. mrs lee. mrs goh. linlaoshi. ms mok. mr chiew. funny oulaoshi. and the class itself!

"want join gang?"
"cheat our money ah!"

getting into trouble with benho! (one of the worst memories ever) people throwing chairs out of the classroom. all those scandals and rumours. rollerblading! so cool, getting to see all those hardy boys falling down. heritage tours. jackson and his who wants to be a billionaire game. escaping horrifying BCG and skintests. gross talks by weird guests. zhihui gloria audrey coming my house! PSLE.

sigh. my pri 5 and 6 life wouldn't have been complete without vic mich and chi. KOOLGANG! i remember nicholas tan asking, "dorothy, you got gang ah?" haha. obviously not right. it was just a fun name.

so many things. the burnt and buried book (bbb) made for the dead. going fitness corner every recess to try out new stunts. (i remember groaning out loud when i first came to ny coz they didn't have a fitness corner) tossing penknives. burning potato chips. singing lady marmalade. astronomy and archaeology crazes. giving ourselves constellation nicknames (i'm aries, vic's hydra monoceros, chi's delphinus, mich's orion). michelle documentary shows. attempting to play softball using waterbottles and smiley ball on the quadrangle. sign languages. all the memories!

"3 and a half teaspoons of fat!" -chi's favourite sentence in pri5

did i hear anyone saying that nyps is damn guai? look at our class and you'll change your mind immediately. i admit i was quite notorious then. *evil laugh* and somehow i don't think much pai-ness has worn off. wahaha. however, without 6L, i wouldn't have learned so many lessons and formed so many valuable and unforgettable friendships. without 6L, i wouldn't be me.

Thank you Lord for 6L and all those wonderful memories!

Saturday, December 11

just came back from jmyf. let me share with you a story told by elena.

once, there was this man who was stranded on an island. he built a house there. as the roof was made of leaves and the sun was scorching, the roof eventually caught fire. the man blamed God and asked him why He did this to him. the next day, a helicopter flew past and the man was rescued. the man asked how they knew. they answered, "because we saw smoke rising from the island".

you see, God has His own plans for us. the next time before we start complaining to Him about why He did this or that, maybe we can stop, think, and remain faithful. He will have a wonderful plan for us.

rockets won spurs by 1 point!! mcgrady damn zai. 13 points in last 35 seconds! 3 three-pointers! you better believe in miracles.

tacmc. just keep on dancing...

sheesh. serious camp-lag now!!

yeah anyway i'm back. TYPING MINUTES. camp was great! the best so far. the venue rocks, very big, with nice facilities like swimming pool and gym! the rooming rocks, i love my room-mates! and my group rocks. hahas. SHI LI PAI! great ppl. i'm quite happy that 2 of my church school classmates had grown up quite a bit.

the games rock too. 1st day ones were really good. i loved the pick-the-pebbles-from-the-pool-then-get-under-mushroom game. got tied in the middle of lydia and gareth in that cold cold pool, at the front of the others. shivered like mad. evil eudora and her raining mushroom. haha. at least she provided us towels. then there was the crawl-up-the-stairs-and-build-pyramid game. and the gross game of eating biscuits. and the 3-legged memory game. i partnered the girls in my group, so became 4-legged instead.

and lastly, the incredibles game. yeah. ian played the role of mr incredible and had to fill out plastic bags with water. he'd then pass to jiayi who played dash, who'd pass the bags to mrs incredible. only that mrs incredible consists of 6 of us who had to pass the bags with garbage bags to ah seh, the 2nd dash, who'd pour all the water into the swimming pool. aim of game was to get many water bags as possible. yay. the games rock. esp with my group mates! (:

and of course, the speaker was good. dr william ho. i learnt alot from his sermons. yeah. though xin an was complaining that he was boring but i didn't fall asleep. and i set my goal liao. my groupleader's going make sure we achieve our goals.

haha. i miss the shows. esp 'the pawnshop'! ohya. tell you smth creepy. 2 of my roomies and i were watching 'the ring' at 12+ on first night and then we heard a ringing sound. as my other roomies were asleep, julien quickly told me to pick up the phone. and when i did, there was a "dooooo" sound in the phone (phone was dead). the phone was actually ringing in the tv, not in real life!! got damn freaked out. argh. *shudders*

dunno what happened to my appetite. everytime before meals i'd feel so hungry. but everytime when i was about to eat, i'd lose all my appetite. so sad. think i lost all the weight i gained during shanghai liaos.

miss bridging and pooling. sheesh. contract is so much harder than floating. i won my first game as declarer, with jon koh as dummy!! 4 hearts as contract. yay. but my bidding still CMI! it's terrible when you're brain-cooked. esp on 3rd night. but i got quite high during 3rd night games. haha. esp when shouting distractions with gareth and lydia at tp for that blindfold game. right right right!! and he really turned right hoho. in TA2, yee ler and i kept playing that hand-slapping game. the back of my hand has red spots now! aiyah. although i like TA2 (my new church), but i prefer the batam times. it was so relaxing can.

sigh. though publicity today showed everyone rays of hope for the fun of camp to continue if they attend yf, but it's inevitable that camp will be dearly missed. camp is the virus, that i don't wanna minus... yeah. thank God for camp.

yay. i'm going for maris stella co concert with grandma. my cousin's playing the erhu. yay can't wait!

ian. jiayi. sehh. gareth. markim. tryphena. me. lydia. changjie. shilipai!

mindless rants!

i'm leaving for church camp tomorrow! yeah i'm starting to feel the excitement and anticipation. haven't started packing yet! hoho. there should be beaches there right? i hope there will be stars at night. singapore has just too much light pollution, although i often spot the orion belt or planet venus (or mercury?) from my house. i'd like to search for the gemini twins. CASTOR AND POLLUX! yeah. i'm pollux. and mich's castor.

anyway, i'm bringing the da vinci cards lilo bought from milan (although i loathe his art). yeah. bridge and daidee? again. speaking of bridge, my brother's trying to teach me how to play contract bridge. he just went for a competition today and i think he only won a consolation prize. haha so lousy. *grins cheekily* but he lost all his bball and soccer games. haha ok i'm bad.

ohyeah. eleen! other than 'long vacation', takuya also acted in some show called 'beautiful life'. go check it out! the theme song's very nice!!

mad day @ helen's (: *with crosshatching effect*
poke the cake! it must be severely traumatized.

Friday, December 3

One year ago, we had our wonderful chalet. 2/1 peeps, read on and see whether any of these sound familiar... *winks*

"[Whoopy Chalet]

18-20 Nov have been 3 good days of my life. Spent in 2 'shabby' chalets in Pasir Ris with terribly high TVs and holey beds and yucky toilets and sticky floor. So, how could that be any good? One answer: Those horrible days were made wonderful with the company of friends.

Sweet memories -- The crazy and looong travelling to Costa Sands. The discovery of our *ahem* temporary abode. The excited scurrying about in the rooms. The relaxing walk down the sandy beach. The writings of our favourite people on the good sands (KC wrote J.C FERRERO, EK wrote CRISTIANO RONALDO, I wrote RYAN GIGGS, Shum EK and I wrote MAN U ROX), and the writing of ARSENAL near the waters so it could be easily washed away. The truth or dares and singings of lovely songs in the comfy roomies. The either-charred-or-rawed chickens we presented during bbq. The arrivals of Mr and Mrs Ang and Mrs Koh. The listening of Music Diary on 93.3 with Suanooo. The watching of Holland V and for some others, Island of Dr Mureau (???). The playing of the number code game and mad drinking of water. The sleepy talks with Shum and YS, ranging from ghosts hanging from the ceiling to Barney and friends...

The bowlathon at Downtown East and getting fizzled up with fizzing bowl-scores. The running in the rain of Yasi to bring us our lunch (will never forget that). The endless waiting of the stopping of the rain. The tiring yet fun cycling at Pasir Ris park and looking back our memories when we saw the places we went to during Sec 1 Lifeskills Camp. The crazed-up Twister game, Karen's Ferrero Nutella prize and my stupid Giggs left foot that caused me to crash out of the game. The oh-so-kong-bu "The Ring", watched and shuddered with fear with Liang Yan. The beauty sleep we got on the last night after playing "Johny-johny-whooosh". The packing up and locking up of the chalet doors. The byes and the hugs for one another. The pain we felt in our hearts.

So as you see, why shouldn't I be happy during these 3 days?"

Nature

Your Beauty lies in Nature. Down to earth, laid back and a natural
beauty. You have no need for make-up or accessories that most others do. In fact
you most likely find them a nuisance. You are probably a little tom-boyish in
your jeans and tees with a great love for nature. You probably know more about
plants and animals than most people and you'd rather spend your times outdoors
and in the sun, independent and free. You can be a bit distant with people,
preferring the company ofanimals over people, which isn't always the best
thing. You can be kind and sweet, but not many see that side of you as you
often have misunderstandings with people. You are very go-with-the-flow sort of
person and usually try to avoid fights even if it means changing your opinion
or belief. Still, you look your best actually without make-up and in
casual clothes. Very few can say that. Be proud.
