shanghai fact of the day: one of the nights on the second week, my group and i went to shanghai theatre to watch SWAN LAKE, performed by a ballet troupe. it was sooo romantic! but guess what? more than half the theatre was filled with kids from a particular primary school. and they were so darn noisy! during the interval, people around me were practically hurling insults at them. steff and peiying even went to tell their teachers. but the entire show was ruined because of them. sigh. never knew kids could be so irritating. thinking back, i find the whole episode quite funny. hahaha.
and haha. some fudan people named their group dor, for some weird reason. *looks amused* and jiaotong people had you-know-who as their teacher-in-charge!
charm, i must really thank you for lending me 'ai shang nv zhu bo' (all about eve) vcds to me. now, my entire family loves this show and my grandma's even thinking of buying them so she can see shan mei's smile everyday. and JANG DONG-GUN's in it! it's definitely one of the better korean dramas. not so sappy like *ahem* (which will not be named to avoid aggressive attacks from karenchen). yup. i finally got to watch khabi kushie khabi gham. and i agree that shah rukh khan is a good actor. ooh. i love the character of anjali! SRK and her make a funny pair!

ahha. continuation...
our dorms: well. we got to stay in the guest rooms. with a tv, three big beds, three desks and a huge toilet per room. yup. my darling room-mates were janet and peiying. compared to the jinyuan students who lived below us (we were in level 7 btw), we were much more fortunate. they had to share a connecting toilet between 10 girls, 5 in a room! ooh. i tell you. for the 2 weeks, we kept seeing this guy walking creepily around in the girls' block, esp our level. but chenlaoshi told us not to xiang wai wai and said that he was an overseas student from korea. nainai was so freaked out by him. anyway, we stayed in
705 (sounds like qiyuwu right?). esme and the twins' room was 713 and we kept going to and fro to one another's rooms to play daidee, bridge, cheat or speed. yeah mostly DAIDEE! my roommate in suzhou was FAITH CHIA. argh the vibrating person! hahaha. more cards again in the hotel.
sightseeing was pretty much ok. ohman. i love the shanghai museum! and the dong fang ming zhu. xiangyang market was scary. i got separated from peiying and nainai on the 2nd last day. ugh. but it was thrilling man! the risk of getting lost was so fun! ssshhh. don't tell the teachers yeah? speaking of teachers,
MRS GRACE CHUA, CHEN LAOSHI and MRS MAE HO, you rock! esp mrs chua and chenlaoshi. they were like our mothers for the 2 weeks. i miss buying goodies for chenlaoshi and crashing her room to talk crap and sense. i miss sitting next to mrs chua in the SIA plane. ooh and i miss sitting in front of mr you-know-who in the same plane. ahhhh. you-know-who is getting married. argh. MAJOR HEARTBREAK! *hears something breaking* sobs.. i'm so NOT going to bow when i see them in school. i'll probably be overwhelmed with emotion and tears.
man. i should stop. right now, i'm surprisingly confused with my mixed feelings. happy. sad. about shanghai. well. supei and nainai will understand. maybe not xiaoling, who thinks that the highlight of the trip was her jaychou findings. but i'm thinking of other things. hmmm. quite hard to tell anyone about those thoughts, only God. ahwell. gonna watch brotherhood now. JANG DONGGUN!

well. surprisingly, my camp lag lasted for only a couple of days and i'm back to the same old me. shanghai was, well, ok i guess. reminds me of hongkong. but to think of it, i don't think i'll love shanghai as much as i love singapore. the amount of pollution, the uncultured people, the lack of natural beauty. reminds me of jay's 'ti tian'. however, i truly love jinyuan! and the group of friends and teachers who went with me!
i miss the class i was attached to - GAO YI SAN BAN! direct translation: high one three class. yeah. i miss my buddy,
LAN TIAN. and no, the name doesn't mean blue sky. it's hua mu lan's LAN. man she's so chio can! out of point. anyway lantian is amazing. although she got chosen to be a councillor, she puts on no airs and is very friendly! *cries* i miss lantian,
meng hui, jiang an, the ben-jordan person, all the girls and boys, the form teacher (LIU LAO SHI), the fun pe lesson, the classroom,
MRS MARIA ROBERTS, the sneaky comp lessons, the sunyanzi craze, the i-look-as-if-i'm-how-old thingy, the
FUNNY zao cao, the flag-raising, everything! just one week with them and now i miss them like crazy. when peiying told me that her buddy asked her whether it's a trend in singapore to have girls' schools or boys' school, I ALMOST LAUGHED OUT LOUD. trend!?! but can't blame them. other than shanghai no.3, all schools in shanghai are co-ed.
sarah: (goes crazy) argh! i think i've lost it!
dot: hmmm. i think you'd lost it long time ago.
janet: err... do you even have it in the first place?
ok. this is out of point. but nainai reminded me about it during the trip. this is how nainai and i will suan sarah when she says she has lost it, whatever the 'it' is.
man. this is getting depressing. argh. what shall i talk about now? ahha! MY BELOVED GROUP 4! group name:
BOING boing boing. denise, esme, janet, supei, yuling, faith and yours truly! ok. we did had some major clashes in opinions sometimes (eg shopping part) but i really enjoyed being with my group. one reason maybe is because all of us are either from 3/14 or 3/13. gosh. the entrepreneurship programme! first session is the taikanglu race, around a small area of art and culture. second session is at the xujiahui shopping malls, having to cover a larger area. the last session is the travel bazaar. yup. that's the one that i said we were to travel around the streets by ourselves. FUN! and we really miss claudine and kathleen, the little entrepreneurs (TLE). even mrs chua loves them to bits. sigh. i'm gonna continue in the next entry. bye for now. boing.

HO-HO-BUTT!
sorry. that was so uncalled for. you wouldn't know what's that. guess what? i've gotten at least 11 marks off my paper 2,
excluding compre. confirm! wonderful right? it was simply whoopingly HCL. probably even harder. and it didn't help that i had a wobbly table. i'm so
not going to get an A1. damn sad. bloop.
enough sadness. this week is a busy week. ok maybe not that busy. but a
colourful week. look at the beautiful spectrum!
mon: yuck. got drenched in the rain
before paper 2! *sniffs*
tues (today): sap meeting, yesterday once more!
wed: aep outing!
thurs: charm's house
fri: sap meeting again, choral night! (:
sat: jmyf (finally again)
sun: YIPPEE! CAN'T WAIT MAN!
yup. can't wait to immerse myself in the meandering and stretched rivers of chinese culture. i can almost see steff protesting. *laughs* one of the activities will be having to roam amd make our way around those unfamiliar streets with only our groupmates and NO ONE ELSE. dangerous but thrilling! *tingles in excitement* i hope i won't get knocked down by cars.
the music playing now is jay's 'common orange jasmine', better known as 'qi li xiang'. yup. the fragrance of this flower can be smelt seven miles away. rachelee!! she influenced me to listen to his songs! but i think they're really good. unique style. rachel asked me to go learn breakdancing with her from The Best Crew. eeks. $40 per hour!?! no way. don't want to break my neck! (:
listening to: yuan you hui - jay
yesyes. jay's soulful voice. i listened to his entire cd again yesterday during the 4hr break!
