Halloween

Oh, and we were Charlie Brown and Lucy for Halloween. :)

Flowers

Today school was canceled because of predicted snow that never even came - awesome! I loved being a bum. I ended up looking through pictures I had taken this summer during different hikes, and I realized I really like to take pictures of flowers. Here are flower shots that I took this summer. Enjoy! Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and four day weekend! We really enjoyed ours! We spent the day of feasting with 3 other couples from church and the weekend following it lounging around Seattle with a stay in the Hyatt Grand! It was niiiiice. Swanky. Wow. Pictures later, if I remember. Thanks to Don & Debi (Taylor's parents) for the amazing Anniversary gift!

I have to say, I was feeling pretty proud of myself for getting this Bible verse photo to turn out the way I intended. Taylor helped me out with editing the black border into it, but the picture was all me. :)

I made sweet potato pie for Thanksgiving - half covered with sugar and pecans (the way my family does it) and half later covered with marshmallows for Taylor.

I made my mom's famous rolls for the second time in my life. (The first time was my trial run a few days earlier). I have to say, they turned out yummier the second time. I'm glad I did the trial run! And, my pecan pie solidified instead of liquifying this time - ha! It was the second time I ever tried my hand at it.

The pecan pie I made, up close and personal.

Us, right after eating out at The Melting Pot for our first time. It was GOOD. We've been inspired to pull out our very own fondue pot again soon.

WATCH OUT FOR THE HEAT!

You have to admit that being from Oklahoma makes this a little funny...

As found on the national weather page:

Hazardous weather condition(s):
Heat Advisory
HIGH TEMPERATURES ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY WILL SOAR INTO
THE 90S...A FULL 15 TO 20 DEGREES ABOVE AVERAGE FOR THIS TIME OF
YEAR.
(Yikes! The 90s?! I hope we live through this!)

IN ADDITION...NIGHTTIME LOW TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN WARM IN
MID TO UPPER 60S AND POSSIBLE NOT FALLING BELOW 70 IN THE
FOOTHILLS.
(Oh no! Warm weather at night? Whatever will we
do! Too bad they don't have snow cone stands here in WA for
these unusual WA weather occasions).

COOLER MARINE AIR IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE PUGET SOUND REGION
SATURDAY NIGHT...BRINGING AN END TO THE EXCESSIVE HEAT.
(Thank goodness! We definitely couldn't take more than 2 days
in a row of weather in the 90s!)

Y
ikes!!! I hope we survive it! Actually, we'll be out of town gone camping
with a bunch of friends. I'm thinking I'll be really glad we're not in our 3rd
floor apartment with no air conditioning this weekend! However, I am
wondering how much better a tent will be... especially since we'll be closer
to the other side of Washington and the forecast there is more like a Dallas
forecast:

And to think I was worried about summer already being over! I'm so glad
there is still warm sunny weather left! I'd rather be hot than cold. I hope
all our blog readers out there (Nana Agnew, you may be the only one) are
staying cool!

I do have to say, it seems so funny to have the heat advisory, but when we
were visiting family in Dallas I noticed that we were very wussy when it
came to the heat. We would run from the air conditioned car into the air
conditioned house as quick as we could. Perhaps the Washingtonians are
actually the tougher ones? What do you think? ;)

Fireworks

Here are a few shots we took of the Kirkland fireworks show. Very cool. We'll try to post some of our Mt. Ranier photos from last weekend soon.
