At The Cross
Oh Lord You've searched me
You know my way
Even when I fail You
I know You love me
Your holy presence
Surrounding me
In every season
I know You love me
I know You love me
At the cross I bow my knee
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Your glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now
You go before me
You shield my way
Your hand upholds me
I know You love me
And when the earth fades
Falls from my eyes
And You stand before me
I know You love me
I know You love me
You tore the veil, You made a way
When You said that it is done

havent been blogging in ages...not sure if anyone reads this blog anymore haha...anyway, once again time has flown by really fast.. electives have been fun & i've really learnt alot even though I didnt get to experience how healthcare is practiced in the US(all thanks to H1N1!!) but I'm not really complaining cos it means i'll get to save up more for my grad trip(woohoo!) and I did learn quite a bit at nni and saw really cool neuromuscular cases (like kennedy's disease!)It's almost surreal that I'm about to start m5 when it feels like i just finished csfc yesterday...all the info that i'm 'supposed' to know by now somehow seems to disappear into the very deep recesses of my brain where I hope i'll be able to retrieve at least 10% of it =S... it's very different being an m3/4 in the wards in the sense that when tutors ask u a question which you dont know the answer to, they will be more forgiving & tell u the answer. When you're a final yr student, you are EXPECTED to know the answer and of course will look utterly imcompetent when you dont...plus this statement will follow: "you're m5 already! it's gg to be your mbbs in __ months' time..better brush up on your clinical knowledge!"Seniors say your m5 yr will pass by in a flash, a very painful flash; and before you know it, you'll be HOs, all ready to start at the bottom rung of the hospital food chain again.*Philippians 4:13*Thats all I need.

it's been ages since i last posted!!
2008 has gone in a flash & we are already into the 3rd week of 2009...how fast time flies and i'm now done with patho pros and looking forwards to electives (which = holidays!)and for once I dont have to mug during CNY!(which has been horrible for the past 3 years)I guess looking back on 2008 I have lots to be thankful for: thankful for God's grace, unmerited favour and faithfulness upon me the whole year, for having a big cg that brought with it many, many memories, moments and anecdotes to last long after med sch, for learning that there are some specialities in medicine i would never go into, for watching my sis marry the love of her life, for making new friends and saying bye to some, for strengthening old friendships and for the knowledge that my Heavenly Father will see me through the new year as He has always done and will always continue to do...And this is how i know 2009 will be a great year ahead...

a spur-of-the-moment cycling trip in ubin before O&G madness begins...
only 4 of us went cos some pple (i shant reveal names) were lazy & were only game for sedentary activities...haha
anyway, although the sudden downpour did dampen our spirits a bit, i still found cycling in the rain refreshing and fun...at least we could cycle faster to seek shelter unlike some poor sec sch boys who were trekking in the rain as part of some camp...haha

hng wee & GH attempting to imitate the "danger" sign
i still want to go back again to ubin when the weather is much better to cycle in the mountain bike park cos the scenery there looks quite nice!

all too soon, 2 weeks have passed & i miss anaesthesia already.. maybe not as bad as emed(with withdrawal symptoms & all) but i still found it to be quite a nice speciality to go into, esp. for girls....the lifestyle seems quite gd with no long ward rounds except for pain rounds, no clinics(unless u are an MO or reg) and u get to sit in an aircon place the whole day....haha...perhaps one reason why I enjoyed my time in sgh was the working environment & the anaesthetists i met who always seemed happy & ever so willing to teach & impart skills to med students even though our failed intubations, plugs and wrong bag & mask skills probably gave them much more work to do... maybe i'll consider doing anaesthesia as one of my MO postings next time, but that's a long way more....hahahere's some random photos from the past few days...
Michelle ventilating a baby....prob one of the very very rare times u will see her with a baby...haha
a pic to show how small the paediatric oral airway can be...(my pen was used as a reference & for comparison)
totally random photo of mich's socks, OT shoes & shoe covers....(i was bored during ICU tutorial when i took this)
practicing how to do a CSE with a Touhy needleAnyway, I'm on to opthalmo next @ nuh...Bleagh...

Here's my newest niece Natasha!! She was born on the 18th of August 2008 @ 5.30pm, at east shore...

The first thing everyone noticed when they saw her was her full head of jet black hair! plus she has lungs that would rival my auntie's! hahahaha....

And the medical student in me noted her length(51cm) and OFC(33cm) =)
Congrats Lee Lyn & Andrew on your wonderful bundle of joy!!
