November?

What was with November? It was so weird. Rather than dwell on all the reasons why November was such a lousy month I'll do a brief overview in pictures and just move on. (For the first time, I think, in the history of this blog, I will only be doing one post this month. Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

11/2: playing in the piles of leaves

11/4: family day outing to the Museum of Ancient Life
We spent a lot of time in the Tinkering exhibit and we all had fun
making patterns in the sand on the turntables.

11/7: Ruby volunteered to vacuum the front room for me.
Vacuuming is a chore I actually like doing, but on a day that I wasn't feeling so great this was a nice treat.

11/8: I've kept to my routine of swimming 1-2 days a week.
This day I realized that I don't have any swimming pictures and decided
to take a picture of my favorite pool sign:
NO RUNNING.

11/8: we met Alta & Ellie at Liberty Park for a picnic lunch and to visit Tracy Aviary.
The weather was awesome and the girls loved playing at the park.
I love that all four girls can fit on one tire swing!

11/16: Despite the weather forecast we took the girls to the last BYU football home game.
It was Ellie's first ever football game and it was kind of a disaster.
It was pouring rain and it was freezing...and we lasted one quarter.
Ellie said, "That football game was hatey!" and Ruby said it was the worst game EVER.

11/22: Ellie got a haircut. She didn't want to grow out her bangs anymore so now they're short again.

11/22: Ruby had a sleepover at Grammie's and Jeff was working so I took Ellie on a date.
We went to Zuppas for dinner
and even though she wasn't feeling very well she loved the one-on-one time.

11/23: family outing to Scheel's
We needed to buy Ruby a new leotard for gymnastics and couldn't leave without a game of Rollerball.

11/27: Ruby was invited to her friend Mikayla's birthday party.
Her party theme was Frozen and everyone went to see the movie after the party.
I got tickets for me and Ellie too so the three of us could all see it.

Such a cute movie!

11/28: Thanksgiving!
This year Vel's extended family (the Halls) had their big Thanksgiving reunion in Utah rather than Idaho.
We got to eat turkey and play Bingo with a bunch of people we don't know.
We decided that next year we're going to a restaurant.

11/29: Ruby woke up the day after Thanksgiving with one thing on her agenda:
decorate for Christmas!
I wasn't really in the mood to decorate but we don't have that much so it went fast,
plus Ruby and Ellie basically hung all the ornaments on the tree.
It might not look that nice but I'll take it.

And so, that was that! Time for some December holiday cheer!
