Wrapping up March

Slowly but surely I will get my blog caught up! Can hardly believe that it's almost the end of April! Where does the time go?!?

I've already documented most of March, but then I uploaded pics from my phone and realized I missed a bunch! Aside from Calvin's birthday, spring break, family in town, and dog sitting, there's a few other little things that made the month special . . .

Sunday evening walk with Boppi and Grandpa Al:
It's the special (and sometimes silly :) time spent with grandparents that makes my heart happy!
I can't get enough of Madi's hair on the days that she sleeps in curlers for church. This particular evening the curls were bouncing and I had to snap a picture (too bad it didn't capture the bouncy gorgeousness of it)!
Elle had t-ball games every Saturday this month. It's probably her first and last season, but a good experience and I'm glad she's gotten exposure to the game. I want my kids to try as many sports as they can so they know what they really love! Elle was just more excited about her after game snack bag than actually playing in the game.
Just seeing Elle in her uniform every week made it totally worth the time and sacrifice it's been.
I love watching her out there on the field.
We are definitely her biggest fans!!
Papa got Madi body boarding when we all went to the beach on the 14th:
Madi had an absolute blast and claimed it to be the best beach trip ever!

St. Patrick's Day attire:
Dates out with dad always mean some kind of delicious treat!

We got butterflies from Madi's piano teacher at the beginning of the month. Well, actually we were given the chrysalis's - it sure was amazing watching those butterflies emerge!!
Letting them go was a whole other adventure!!
BIG thank you to Sister Johnson for the fun experience!
Not only did we have butterflies growing in our house, but one afternoon the kids were out finding rolly pollies when Madi started freaking out and telling me that the mom rolly polly was having babies. Sure enough, we found tiny white crawling insects in the little cup! Wish I would have sat and watched the whole thing with Madi!
We quickly moved the family of rolly pollies to a bigger home . . .
. . . and then created a better home for them to live and grow in.
School mornings from 8-9am with these two are the best!

Elle got some one-on-one time with Boppi for another cooking class!
Twin day at school:
Madi and Elle first decided on a twin outfit . . .
Then a couple of Elle's friends mom's text me wondering about being twins. Elle ended up having several twin friends at school that day.
Helping in Elle's class this year has been a lot of fun! I love seeing how she interacts with all her classmates and what good friends she has made. These girls finished early with centers and went right to the rug and started some type of game. Had to snap a picture!
Finally took down Christmas card pictures! I always feel like I'm saying good-bye to good friends when I take them down. Every year I plan on making a little book out of all the cards and every year I always seem to be too busy.

Our Primary MTC Activity at the end of March was a huge success!! The kids were all put into "missions", with our oldest primary class trained to be Mission Leaders. The kids carried around "passports" and got stamps for their passports once they passed off the different training areas:
Madi's passport - along with her badge that she wore for the activity:
Elle's mission group:
Each mission rotated though 4 stations. I volunteered to be in charge of the physical fitness station. Spencer helped me create an awesome obstacle course for the kids to get through. I stressed the importance of not only being in good physical shape but also being willing to do whatever it takes, and get through every obstacle we face in order to find those people who are searching for the gospel.
Excuse the fuzzy picture. I didn't get a picture of the entire obstacle course - you'll have to believe me that it really was awesome!!
Our 2nd station was the scripture station where kids did a sort of scripture chase.

3rd station was on how to act in social settings:
The kids practiced their handshake and looking at people in the eye.
They also learned the importance of trying new foods and having proper meal etiquette.
The 4th and last station was focused on music.
The kids learned to lead music and then created an "Army of Helaman" with their own pictures.
It was a wonderful activity - my kids were talking about it all week!
A great ending to a wonderful month!!
