Today I took a day off from wk n visited the library. Yes the Nex library for the first time. It dawned on me how long I haven't step into the libraries we once frequent every week in our school days.  I overheard this  guy teaching maths (sin, cos, tangent) to this gal n I chuckled to myself at how all this seems so damn foreign to me.  I browsed through the shelves n saw books from Judith mcnaught, lurlene mcdaniels n zhang xiao xian. Those authors that were my fav! I took a few of them to read but I couldnt get past a chpt. I keep having interrupted thoughts of work, the emails I need to clear when I get back, the things I need to follow up on, the mthly stats I need to provide to boss n those office politics that I dun wish to get involved in.  It sucks.  It sucks to grow up.  It sucks to realise work n life have eaten up my time to do the things I once enjoyed. Those simple pleasures in life that i no longer have easy access to.  We used to have freedom n time but we dun own the ability to earn money.  Now that we gained such financial capacity, we no longer have the luxury to just fade out as n when from wk.  Kinda glad I took the day off to fade out from the normal 9-6 life to just hang by myself. The mind needs that n the soul too.

May has been eventful thus far.
First, GE 2011. First yr I get to vote and went to rallies. That's an experience!
To think that the next time I'm gonna vote again, it'll be in 5 yrs time! Gosh thats when I turn 30 and going to change IC photo liao!
The gang went to catch Lion King @ MBS threatre on Cooling Day as well! Great show! :)
Then there's the 2 fabulous PH. I managed to hop over Batam with Wei for a quick getaway. That's what we called a NUA-HOLIDAY! Massage is fantastic, cheap shampoo, facial wash and pads! hehehe

And one most impt thing for the mth is me going for my LASIK op!!!
Its been more than 3 weeks since the op followed by 2 post checkups and the eyes have been recovering well. Gaining back 6/6 eyesight is expensive no doubt, but definitely worth the money! Now I longer need to locate my spects when I wake up, wash contact lenses and poking them into my eyes everyday or worry abt long fingernails, feeding the lenses with protein tablets etc.
The parents haven been super supportive of the op and initiated to pay off half of the op fees for me.
After 10 arduous years of r/s with contact lenses, its a sweet goodbye.

HELLOOOOO to whoever is still checking out this dusty little space here. *blows dust off*
Has been nearly 3 mths since I last blogged, shldnt let this space go to waste afterall, so a little update tonight since yours truly feels like it.

Actually I dunno where to begin back-dating, hence FB became one impt revenue for me to check back on the more happening events for the last few mths.
Lets start from the annual HCL gathering then.
Without fail every CNY, we'll date 黄老师 out for a good meal. This is like the 9 or 10th year and I'm still clocking perfect attendance every yr! Whee~ :)

Pei's 25th @ 2D1N Soju Bang!
Waited darn darn long for a table but the cheap bbq meat was worthy afterall.
But Togi is still my fave Korean restaurant in town, wins hands down!

Mid-March, Arrow gang made a day trip to Desaru.
Fantastic time spent with the ppl, fruits, ostrich, mosquitoes, fireflies (awwww~~) despite having to drag ourselves outta bed at ungodly hours.

Meet-up with the BIMBOHS! Crazy times as always!

3rd April- Wei Jie & AnQi's wedding @ Intercontinenal.
They have been tgt since the day I know Qi in JC days. Their steadfast relationship lasted through the years and I'm so proud to share their joy at the wedding.

That evening feels like a class gathering for me with all the familiar classmates surrounding the table. Everyone has grown, but the sweet college memories will bond us all for a long time to come.
Am looking fwd to the next one on the queue! ;)

2 LK gals turned 25 in April.
Zee's celebration was photo-less but full of great gossips!
Dew's 25th @ Studio M saw us snapping lots of funny pics and filling our stomachs with fabulous food!


I wish I can blog as often as I tweet.
Blogging kinda makes me happy cuz when penning down my thoughts, those happy memories flashed through the mind again.

Well I wish I could have more of such luxury of time and energy to blog.

I'm tasked with the responsibility of blogging the yearly LK Christmas celebration cum gift exchange in case our memory banks or FB failed us all 30 years later.

So well, here goes~
We'd budget dinner ($96!) @ Molly Roffey's Irish Pub before ktv session at our usual hangout. Posed with the party hats which were given.

Special credits to Tang for her DIY gift to us which she painstakingly put tgt. *Applauds

The highlight goes to Box with his sweet presents to all the gals. He won us over with the gesture even w/o showing up physically. Well done Mr Chia!

This year, the gift exchange went on without any hiccup, all thanks to our strict lot-drawing ceremony. Everyone got sth they desire off their wishlist, though Zee's lunch bag is a little off her usual style. :P

Quoting from Zee- Nothing beats having your closest gfs for Xmas, year after year...

A week after Christmas, we gathered on the 1st day of the new year for lunch @ Don Quijote, Demspey.
Somehow somehow, I just love the place and food the very first time I was there and swear to bring the gfs there for makan. And yeah we went there for our first meal tgt this year in conjunction of celebrating Ewe's 25th.
A pity they dun share my love for the squid ink pasta, but I guess the sangrais, paella and priceless companion make up.

Arrow gang & extended members gathered in strength of 13 over at Bao's place in the evening for a fabulous round of bonding.
Nothing, nothing beats spending time with everyone, sharing food, playing silly games like old school winking Murderer, or just simply immersing in merry festive mood.

While loading pics, I found a slightly older pic we took just months back.
12 of us in a slightly diff combi the previous time. The gang has really GREW!

Other than Arrow gang becoming a huge part in my life, I thought I shld pay credits to the colleagues for being another integral part of my life in 2010.
Work has been stable for the past year and looking at the never-ending workload and upcoming timelines and plans, it'll be another interesting year in the bank.
Countless of fellow colleagues left and joined, but the 3 special ones still remain close at heart.
Truly thankful for them for being my pillars in the bank when I've nobody to run to regarding work issues.



And last, a big thank u to the lovely travelmates of Taiwan, Bali & KL.
Simply no time to blog abt the trips but the company & memories stay appreciated in my heart. :)


2011 is and will be a good year!
