I don't know why, but for some reason this story came to me today.
About 7 or 8 years ago, (after having K) I need to make my usual Geno appointment. The Dr. that delivered her was on vacation or something. I really don't remember but I remember I didn't want to use him. I found a new Dr. that took our insurance and was a female, it's usually more comfortable having a female.
The day of my appointment arrived. After having a baby, this type of thing is routine. I think my reason for doing it was birth control anyway!
I walk into the office. The Dr. was sitting at the desk, (Is she the receptionist too). She tells me to have a seat she will call me back soon. I felt like I walked back into time. The furniture and lighting in the waiting room was from the 50's. Not the nice stuff now, that is made to look like it's from the 50's but actually from the 50's. I feel odd and blow it off thinking, the Dr. is old and I'm sure remodeling is expensive. As long as everything back in the room is ok.
She calls me back, I go in the room. Of course she leaves so I can get ready for the exam. This room too looked like it was out of the 50's. I am freaking out, thinking there is no way this lady is going to exam me. I did the first thing I thought of. I act like I get a phone call and talk to someone. I then walk out and tell her, I'm sorry I have to go, my baby is sick and I dash out of there! I feel bad for the lady but OMG that place gave me the creeps! All I could think about is this lady is going to hurt or kill me and sell my organs LOL....
Has something like this happened to you?

DOG!!!!
My dog Zoey, (she is a bichon frise) in case you were wondering. Is so smart it drives me crazy. Literally.
Case-and-point.
Zoey: hoping on the couch, eyes saying "mommy, mommy I have to go potty NOW!"
Me: ugh dog it's cold out, ok c'mon
Zoey: smelling grass, trees, her "pee spot".
Me: standing on the porch FREEZING. I look up the road taking my eyes off the dog, after all she found her "spot" I don't like to stare that's rude after all.
Zoey: oh mommy is looking away, I'm going to run up to her now, she will think I went and give me a treat. I WIN!
Me: Dog there is NO way you went potty, there is no way you had enough time!
Her plan failed she didn't get a treat, in fact 30 min later when she really did have to go, I made her go lay down. Is that mean? LOL
She does this to us all the time it drives me crazy!!!
NOTE: about 45 min after her last attempt to go out she asked again and I let her out. She actually went and she got 2 treats. SPOILED brat!! lol
I hope everyone has a good Thursday.. I am ready for warmer weather!!!!

gluten intolerant?
I think I might be. I am lactose intolerant, that one is easy to fix and handle.
However, the past few days after I eat I get a headache and stomach ache and just feel sick. I was looking it up and I ran across "gluten intolerance" I pretty much have all of the symptoms.
I am going to try to take gluten out of my diet for a couple weeks, then slowly introduce it again and see.
This may explain the reason why the only thing I ate yesterday that didn't make me sick was an orange :)
I don't want to be gluten intolerant. TMI ALERT: but I do want the headache, upset stomach, gas, bathroom issues....ect to stop!
If you are gluten intolerant or know someone who is. What are/were your symptoms?
FYI
I'm watching GMA. I used to think Heidi Montag was so pretty, now I don't! She shouldn't have done all of those surgeries. And btw her boobs are too big, she doesn't need bigger ones, what does she want to fall back on a stripper career? or maybe porn?

Skirts for men? I don't like that...
Apparently this is a new trend. H&M is carrying this line, and they have it in their new catalog. I am not a fashionista, in fact, I am typing this in blue camo fleece pj pants and my LATECH (red) t-shirt. ( I got pj's on a bit early tonight because we had dinner earlier than normal.)
I don't think this is a trend I like. I don't want to see man legs peeking out from under a skirt. There is a place we eat at a lot here, called The Pub. It is a British inspired place, the uniforms require the men to wear kilts or skirts. I am sure THOSE guys are hoping this trend takes off, so they can actually go somewhere in their uniform. :)
Have a good weekend everyone. Don't forget MLK Jr and what he did for our country.

Toni Morrison's, Remember the Journey to School Integration= POWERFUL
If you haven't read this book please please go check it out from your local library.
This has got to be the most powerful children's book EVER. K and I started reading it,got about half the way in and had to stop because it was making us cry.
This book has real pictures and Toni offers her insight to the pictures, in the end it tells you the dates and real story behind the pictures.
It really brings things into reality. Having been born white in Florida in 1978. I don't think someone like me and really appreciate what went on only years before! We take for granted that everything is integrated these days. So much in fact that our kids don't even know what that word means.
Even our grandparents or parents generation can tell us first hand about these things.
Our generation really has no idea what some people had to go through. The riots, protests. Even parents not sending their white kids to school because black kids were going to be there. The is one picture of a little girl on her first day of school ever 1st grade. She was the only black kid at the school and was escorted in by marshals and was the only kid in her class because the other parents didn't send their kids. I can NOT imagine that today.
Anyway.. I wanted to share this with you guys because of how powerful this book is. this is not a "product review". lol as if Toni Morrison would ask a blogger to review her books teehee..
God Bless

Time scheduling.. more meaningful time for me..
I tell myself over and over that I'm going to spend more time reading. I did get a Kendle for Christmas and LOVE it. I've already read one book, I'm working on a 2nd and have at least 2 more in the que :). However, I only get to read on Sunday's. My days are too full.
Typical Day:
6:00am wake up-
wake up K-
take dog out-
feed dog-
6:15ish make breakfast for K-
let dog out again after she ate-
6:30-7 am Sit at the table chat with K while she eat and I drink my coffee, pray and read my bible
(Mon, Wed, Fri)
7 am-check email and get in the shower and get read to go to the gym
7:30 am leave for the gym
8:00-9 spin class or zumba
9-10am sculpt class
10am leave the gym come home or run errands such as groceries ect.
10am-2:30pm errands (if any), shower, eat lunch, check email, facebook, twitter, blog ect and watch the talk shows I tivo.
(Tues and Thurs)
7:30-9-9:30 housecleaning/working out-shower
9:30ish-11 watch talk shows I tivo
11 get read to go to K's school to volunteer in the library
11:30-1:00 volunteer at the school library
1:00 come home or run short errands-catch up on email, facebook ect
2:30-4 pm K gets home help her with snack and homework and watch dr. oz and the dr's
4/4:30 hubs gets home talk about his and my day (if I have anything to talk about lol)
5pm start dinner
6pm eat dinner
the rest of the evening is a blur between, cleaning up the kitchen, showers, ect. I have realized that from 6-8 I don't really care for any television. We are filling this time with yoga or studying for bench mark and SOL tests with K.
8pm K goes to bed
8-10 hubs and I watch our shows
10pm bed.
I have come to the conclusion I watch too much tv. I need to start scheduling reading time. Today I am going to try 2-3pm or 2-4 pm. I don't want this to only be reading time. I want this to be MY time. When I give myself facials, pedicures, ect. The ONLY problem with that is K gets home at 2:30 and usually homework isn't over until close to 4 pm. I suppose if I want to so "spa" type stuff for myself I could do them on my gym days after the gym.
I know I shouldn't watch tv as much but it's relaxing.. and I'm not mindlessly watching it. I am usually doing other things at the same time. On my computer reading blogs, messages, or folding laundry ect.
Sorry this post was so long and boring. I just needed to write it out like that so I can schedule some ME time... *sigh* I never thought I'd have to do that once I stopped working.
Happy Tuesday Everyone!

7 years today....
Today is my 7 year wedding anniversary.
We have had some good times, great times, bad times and down right awful times. But by the grace of God we are still together and we are wonderfully happy. I couldn't imagine being with anyone else.
We sort of did things backwards. We had K before we got married. We didn't want to enter into marriage lightly so we needed to make sure it was right.
We have had some rough patches, even on the verge of divorce. We lived apart and shared custody for more than half a year. Will a lot of praying and giving it to God, we are back together and happy. We still have our days, but wouldn't have it any other way.
Hubs took today off and we spent the day together and went to lunch and ate our weight in sushi and hibatchi... sigh... I have a ton of leftovers! Good thing I went to spin class this morning!
So here is to many many more wonderful years.

Verizon vs AT&T....
My AT&T contract on my cellphone is up next month. I am debating on switching to Verizon. I would love to hear from someone who has done this, or from Verizon customers... suggestions? Complaints? ect...
Also, if you are on the family plan. Do you save money? Right now the hubs and I have have 2 different plans. We both have smart phones (he has the iphone). I want a new phone.
However, my contract is up before his, so if I move to his plan, I am wondering do we have to sign a new 2 year contract?
I would love suggestions on phones from the carriers or plans.. I want to go the cheapest plan possible. Right now my bill runs around $87 a month. That's just MY phone...
Thanks..

Are you organized? I need tips....
Are you someone who is organized?
I am not very organized. I'm organizationally challenged if-you-will. My house isn't a mess and I'm not a hoarder, well I do have those too small for me jeans that I can't bring myself to throw away because I just know I will fit into them again. Don't we all have those? I have all my Christmas decorations, pictures, books ect in tubs or boxes in the Garage. I have downsized a lot in the move. The hubs and I went from having our own closet to sharing one the size of one we used to have to ourself. I got rid of enough shoes and clothes to clothe a few ladies my size. (5ft 1 inch, 130ish pounds, 34DD bra size) yea I'm sure there are not many of us... but at any rate someone can wear my stuff.
I am looking for pointers on how to be organized. I took my kitchen "junk drawer" down from 2 to 1. It's not bad, I bound pens and markers in a rubber band. They were the biggest sloppy looking part of the drawer.
What is your favorite organization tip? Please help me....
Thanks

Heard of "The Love Dare"? Want to do it for free?
K-love is doing this with their listeners.
They are posting daily.
http://klove.com/BLOG/post/2010/01/06/Day-1-of-The-Love-Dare.aspx
I put the whole link in there so you can go to it and save it.
You will want to get a journal as well to write your notes in.
I did this on my hubby about a year ago. This is a great thing. Whether you want to rekindle your love or are on the verge of divorce.
Take care...

Who would be my "wife swap" person....
I don't watch Wife Swap much, but I will a couple times a week at most. I think it is crazy how they swap total opposites. If someone is a neat freak they swap them with a slob. Vegans swap with families who hunt regular.
These people have to know when they sign up that they are going to get someone crazy! I'm not sure why people sign up for this show, other than to be on TV. I personally wouldn't want my family invaded like that, nor would hubby EVER sign off on it...
However, it makes me think, who would swap with me?
I am not a clean freak as in clean the house 4 hours a day every day. I clean daily and a huge cleaning 1-2 times a week. I shampoo carpets about once a month, and do laundry 2-3 times a week. I am not a clean freak but FAR from a slob. I don't like to have dirty dishes in the sink or dirty clothes in the hamper (hence the laundry 2-3 times a week for a 3 person household). But I don't consider myself a clean freak.
I am not a vegan or a hunter. I do eat healthy. I watch everything that goes in my mouth and count calories. I am sort of OCD about this. SO Maybe they would switch me with someone who eats fast food every night. That makes me sick to think of it.. How could you eat grease like that everyday! YUCK! I am not a huge meat eater, I usually have a small amount at dinner, maybe some deli meat on a salad or sandwich. I don't hunt, the thought of cleaning it and the gross dead animal doesn't appeal to me. I am not against it, just don't want to do it.
I do watch TV, not a lot. We have certain shows we like and DVR them and watch then when we can. I DVR Regis and Kelly, Racheal Ray, and the View and watch them skipping commercials.. most of the time it is in the background while I'm cleaning, folding laundry, blogging (RR show on now) or any other thing I do. I like to read and I know if I didn't watch so much TV I'd have more time to read. But you can't read and fold laundry at the same time... WELL I guess I can NOW that I got the kendle, I can put it on the function where it reads me the book... LOVE THAT.. haven't used it yet though :)
I do work out alot, but I don't spend all day every day in the gym. I love my spin and sculpt classes I go too.. Spin is mon and fri, sculpt is mon, wed and friday. Tues, Thurs and Saturday I run on my treadmill or just do yoga, or squats and lunges. Sunday I take off.. so they can probably swap me with someone who sits all day.
I am a Christian. I believe in God and that Jesus is God's son and he died on the cross for my sins. We are not however, and overly religious family. K and I go to church on Sunday's and my New Years resolution is to read the bible daily. I have a plan to read it through in a year. I am doing that. Hubby, doesn't go to church with us. He is Catholic but doesn't go to church and some of his views I don't share. He believe in God and Jesus. But doesn't believe the whole Bible. He also believes in evolution. We have had many heated discussions over this. SO unless they swap me with an Athiest or pegan then this wouldn't be a factor.
So I would probably be swapped with a lazy fast food eating woman. For the most part I am pretty boring and think of myself as a normal SAHM/wife. I don't think I'd be a good candidate for this show. LOL
On another note. I found awesome sales of fruit today.
Kiwi's .25 cent each (I got 8)
Cantaloupe $2 each (I got 2)
grapes $2.99 lb (way down from what it was at Christmas time)
pears .79 each (I got 6 or 7)
apples 2 bags for $5.00 (I got one bag but it was $2.99 since I only got one)
I got other fruits too...
and they had a coupon if you buy 5 quaker products you get $3.00 off milk.. I needed 4 (2 cold cereals, 2 instant oatmeal) and I got a pancake mix (we were almost out but didn't NEED it) But for free milk heck yeah... I checked my receipt my milk only cost $2.45 but I still got $3.00 off.. :)
I hope everyone is having a great week..

My day to me....
Didn't work out as I planned. This is why I shouldn't plan. I did have a good day.
I went to the gym for 2 hours, did spin class and a sculpt class.
Then I went to starbucks..mmm.. then the place I needed to go, my GPS didn't have a clue what I was talking about... I looked on the internet on my phone for an address, couldn't find it on that either. I drove around could't find it. I gave up when to Panera Bread got a salad and came home. I also ended up cleaning my house yesterday so I wouldn't have to do it today.
So my day for me was pretty busy. I do love the fact that I didn't pay for anything yesterday. My Starbucks was a gift card I got for Christmas, and Panera Bread I used a visa card my brother got me for Christmas.
All-in-all my first day back in a routine was pretty good.
Today is more of a me time day. I actually had nothing to do and felt really odd like I needed to do something. I am about to leave to go to K's school, I volunteer in the library twice a week there. I'm not in the mood for that. I feel bad when nothing is wrong and I don't show up, even though I'm not getting paid. I do have to run that errand from yesterday though, but I've already decided to do that after the gym tomorrow. I need to buy groceries but we don't NEED anything yet, so I'll be doing that on Thursday morning.
I was surprised K was so willing to fall back into routine. She didn't fuss at bed time on Sunday and she was up and dressed, fed, teeth brushed, and hair fixed EARLY yesterday. She even came home and did her homework without fussing. WOW I didn't expect that. This morning was good as well, lets hope homework goes well. ;)
Happy Tuesday all.

Vacations are over... time for MINE
I love having everyone at home. But as a SAHM/wife you work harder when they are home. They are enjoying their time off, where is mine? I have decided tomorrow is going to be MY day. I have to go to the gym, run an errand and the rest of the day is MINE (at least until 2:30 when K gets home and it homework time) I'll probably even grab a starbucks coffee while I'm out.
It will be nice to have the house to myself again. To clean and it be clean for a bit. To only have to make lunch for ME.
On the downside, time to get up early again boo to that!
Have a great week everyone.

Awesome low calorie strawberry smoothie
I just made this.. It was awesome.
I bought strawberries for NYE I was going to make Strawberry daiquiris.. So my strawberries we frozen already.
Recipe.
about 10-12 frozen whole strawberries
1 cup vanilla silk milk (light)
1/4 cup half and half (fat free)
2 tbsp splenda blended sugar
put in blender and liquify.
YUMMM
About 1 cup of this is about 110 calories..
I don't know for sure but figuring my ingredients and the calories and measuring things out.. this is what I came up with...
PS I am not including my blog in my digital cleanse. I'm not going to be posting pics or anything though, since I'm using my phone for calls only and my digital camera is dead and digital LOL..
I hope everyone is having a great start to 2010 we are!!!!!
