Miss Georgia is 7 months already!!!

Just a few pics from today's 7-month photo shoot! I end up getting lots of pics of her looking sweet and serious, but believe it or not she's usually smiling! She goes blank as soon as she sees the camera...go figure!

Life with Georgia

Well, it's only taken me 7 months to get my daughter onto my blog, but here she is (pictures are in reverse order)! The time has flown by. She is getting so big already...almost 20 pounds and outgrowing all of her 6-12 month clothes already. She looks more like her brother every day, except that her eyes are blue (yay!). She is such a happy, mellow baby and brings such joy to our lives. Before we knew what we were having, we really thought we wanted another boy. But now that I have my little girl, I couldn't be more thrilled. I just can't seem to get enough of her. It took several weeks before Spencer began to adjust to having a little sister, and while he seems to accept her as part of the family now, he still will frequently ask for me to put her down, stop feeding her, or otherwise ignore her so he can have all the attention. She doesn't seem to mind and wiggles and smiles whenever she sees him. He turned 2 at the end of August and some days he reminds us why people refer to this stage as the terrible twos. But most days he, too, is a joy. He started preschool last month, just one day a week for 3 hours. He loves it and the teachers love him. I have decided not to return to work for now, though I have agreed to fill in on an odd day here and there just so I can stay somewhat current and keep my license. I am having too much fun staying home with my buddies and just can't bring myself to leave them yet. To sum it all up, I'd have to say that life is pretty great!

Four weeks to go!

My friend Susannah took pictures of me and Spencer when I was 36 weeks pregnant. Georgia is 3 months now so I figured it was time to get them posted!!!

Captiva 2010

We went back to North Captiva this year. This time Brad's family couldn't make it, but Talitha's friends JP and Jenny came with their kids. We also went to Martha's Vineyard with them last year and had a blast. We rented a different house which was only a 2 minute walk to the beach and had a beautiful view of the water and the sunset every night. After 1 day of rain, we were blessed with warm, sunny weather every day. It was a little challenging being 33 weeks pregnant and hiking up and down the beach, often carrying Spencer, but it was well worth it. We might have to pick a different vacation spot next year and it will be "high season" in North Captiva due to when Easter falls and therefore much more expensive!

Spring already

So it is interesting how much different things are from your first to your second pregnancy. I had so much time to obsess over things like profile pictures of my growing belly and blogging. Now here I am at 32 weeks and I haven't taken one profile picture and can only find the motivation to blog every few months! I guess my priorities have shifted! Life just keeps getting busier. We leave this Friday for a week in Florida with Talitha and her family...I can't wait! It is a much needed vacation which should be full of much needed sun and warm water and beach time. And to think that once we get back, I will have about 6 weeks before we bring home a new baby! We're already preparing. Spencer got moved downstairs last weekend into his new room. I thought it would be a tough adjustment for me more than anything, but it has been very easy and he is loving his new room. Meanwhile his old room has suddenly turned pink and green and yellow...I still can't get used to it. It's hard to imagine I will be sharing my love with another baby soon. Spencer is at such a fun age. He seems like such a big boy sometimes. He is talking more and more, becoming such a little ham, loving following his daddy around the house and yard and helping with whatever he's doing, and just bringing us lots of smiles. I think he is going to be a great big brother. And now for a few pics of the past 3 months...

Winter becomes spring...

So we'll start with Easter and move backward. This was Spencer's Easter basket...a dump truck! As you can see, he loved it. Melissa, Brian, Gavin, and my mom came up for a night and we went to an Easter egg hunt at the golf club on Saturday morning, then had a barbecue that night for my mom's birthday. It's fun to see the cousins starting to play together!
Gavin is almost as big as Spencer now, even though he was born 6 weeks early and is 5 months younger! Poor Spencer...wasn't gifted in the height department!
Spencer grabbing eggs at the club. Once he realized it wasn't just a race across the room, he went to town finding the eggs. And yes, it was inside a big tent. And the eggs weren't hidden, they were just spread around the floor. Gotta love Oregon!
When Spencer first saw the Easter bunny, he squealed and started running for him. I was surprised that he wasn't scared at all. I think he would have stayed with him if we'd wanted to leave him there.
Riding the motorcycle that the Oliveris got him for his first birthday. A must have? Eye protection! With all that speed and all the ladybugs we have, you never know what might get in your eyes!
This is my friend Ali's daughter, Lana. We joke that they will be dating someday. We had dinner there a few weeks ago and this was what happened when I asked them to give each other a hug. I think Lana puckered up first, but Spencer knew just what to do!
This was a seventy degree day toward the end of March, just a few weeks ago. What started as pouring water out of a water bottle into a bucket turned into a full-blown, dripping wet afternoon. I love the drool coming off of his chin in the 3rd picture. Before we were done, he was completely naked and still running around the front yard. I can't wait for summer!
Our little ham!
We headed to Park City for a week in February. Brad enjoyed some epic skiing while I held the fort down. It's no fun not being able to ski, although I did get to go into Salt Lake one day and visit one of my best friends from high school who had just had twins, so that was fun! My mom joined us on the 4th day and spent 4 nights with us, so that made the trip much more fun and gave Brad and I a few date nights, too!
Riding the lift down to the parking lot, I finally made it in one of the pictures!
Our little snow bunny, ready to hit the slopes. He became absolutely obsessed with ski poles during our week in Park City. Several people stopped us on this particular day and told us how cute he was and then started taking pictures of him walking through the village with Brad's ski pole!
Trying on daddy's boots.
Daddy and Spencer at the Canyons.
Our first day in Park City, happy to be playing in the snow.
Running the bases with daddy. I can't tell who's having more fun!
Safe!
A warmish day (or at least dry) at the park in early February. A friend of Brad's joined us with his dog and brought a beer for him and Brad. So here's Brad going down the slide with Spencer in one hand the and beer in his other, somehow managing to keep a tight hold on each of them!
A dry February day, on a walkabout in the yard with daddy.
Enjoying a grape popsicle after surgery. Spencer needed a circumcision revision and a few other things in that area were fixed at the same time! He was such a trooper. I think it was harder on me than it was on him. Gotta love the pink elephant pajamas they put all the kids in!
Daddy and Spencer enjoying the new tractor.
Grandma and her boys at Gavin's first birthday.
