Kates Dance Class

Kate's dance class

Today Kate had her first dance class. It is one hour a week for 6 weeks for toddlers, no competition, just fun with ballet & tap. She was a little apprehensive about the tap shoes. We are hoping once she has a pair of her own, she will get used to it and maybe if she is helping make the noise, it will not be as bad. When we started to leave, Kate cried. She kept saying "dance, dance dance". The instructor danced with her one last time & then she was okay.

To see the video clip, you will have to click on the picture above, then click on the last picutre of the album..the video should play.

Our Weekend

The highlight was Lowe's "Build & Grow" workshop. Andy took Kate in Oct & she seemed to really enjoy it. So we went again. She got real excited when she saw her apron, she wanted it on even though it wasn't time to start yet. Once all the kids sat down & started their projects, she fussed because she wanted to be at the table with them. When I say "all the kids" I mean 15+ boy scouts. It was crazy & very noisy (imagine all of them hammering at the same time)!! I am not sure if it was the noise, her being tired or both but she started fussing about half way through & was ready to go. So Andy finished the project & we walked around the store. Kate saw the Christmas decorations & kept whispering "wow". She danced with the singing/musical santa's & (I think) had more fun with that than making her #48 garage...HA!! We will try the workshop again in Dec (gingerbread house....YAY, something somewhat girly!!:). If she still fusses, maybe I can convince her daddy to let us go to the salon to get our toenails painted or shop or do something super fru, something like a dress up tea party place!! ;) Seriously, I hope she does like the workshop thing. I want her to have fun with her daddy too (she will just do it with pink toenails...he he)!!

Here are some pictures of the workshop & misc of the weekend. Hope you all had a great weekend too!

James' 6 month appointment

His stats...
weight: 19lbs 9.9oz
length: 27 3/4

James has really sensitive skin and has always had issues. In the past we have used hydrocortisone cream. Dr. R informed us that we were using it to often & overtime this could wear down the skin. So, we will try an antihistamine for a while, if this doesn't seem to work then James will be referred to a dermatologist.

He still has an infection in his right ear. So, he will be on antibiotics. NOW, lastly, the thing that concerns me most.....his head circumference. It is 16 3/4, which has not changed much from his 4 month appointment (16 1/2). The doctor showed us the growth chart & said she wanted the nurse to remeasure his head. As the doctor was walking out of the room this was our conversation.

Me: What does it mean if the measurement is not wrong?
Dr: Could mean that the brain is not growing the way it should be but we will get her to remeasure.

Doctor leaves. Nurse comes in and remeasures, it is the same.

Regardless, if I think he needs it or not, I will be making James an appointment to make sure the infection in his right ear is gone. I will also have them measure his head again. Maybe at this appointment, I can get clarification about his head circumference. In the meantime, I will be measuring his everyday!

Andy & I decided not to have James' thyroid levels retested. We did not want to put James through that again. At this point, the specialist would not do anything anyway.

Overall, James is doing VERY well. He is still scooting/rolling all over the living room floor. He was able to go from his belly to sitting up the other night. It was the funniest thing. Once James was on his bottom (he was still leaning on the right arm a little), he looked up at us with this HUGE smile. It was like he was saying "I DID IT". It was sooo cute.

You can tell, I took all the pictures with my cell phone. They are not real clear but it is better than no pic at all.
