Thank goodness for WONDERFUL neighbors!!

I really think we have the BEST neighbors and when we move we will never have any quite like them. Andy and I have both been sick with coughs and sore throats for about a month. We have let our shoveling go to the way side and have not kept up. We just drive over it and pack it down. Well.....you can only do it for so long. As andy was leaving for work he got stuck in our driveway. We managed to get him out. After he left I began to shovel in the bitter cold but it was too hard. There was way too much snow and the bottom layers were so packed that it was impossible for me to lift. No sooner than I got back in the house I get a call from my neighbor telling me they were just on their way to help up us. Long story short......our neighbor brought over his snow blower and got rid of the snow. But, he didn't stop there. He then spent a very long time smashing the hard packed icy stuff and shoveling it off the driveway. Too kind!!!!! It is nice to know there are such nice people in the world and how we happened to live by them ...... who knows. That kind act of service meant the world to me. And on top of it she took the kids so I could run some errands before leaving on our trip.
Thank you neighbors!!!!!!

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!!

We have already had a LOT of snow this year. I took these earlier in November when we got blasted with snow and were out of school for the day (perhaps my sister in WA state can use these pictures to show what is needed for a snow day!!).
We have a great hill for sledding in our backyard. The kids were out there for hours!!
Even Lucas liked the sledding and snow. Here he is with Erin and Emma.
Lucy helped shovel and dig out the car.

Thanksgiving

This is a little late but I can't skip posting Thanksgiving. We had a WONDERFUL thanksgiving. It was the first year we didn't spend it with family but we spent it with very good friends so it was fun.
We went to Lisa's house and Natalie and her family were there too. We did a lot of our cooking together on Wednesday and then we got together Thursday afternoon for great food! The kids were really excited and very loud but it was still fun.

Here's Mike carving the turkey!

Dear Santa....

It was very cute when Ethan came to me with an envelope that was all taped up and told me he had to get a letter to Santa in the mail. I had nothing to do with his letter. He did it on his own, found the envelope and decided it was time to mail.
It happened to be a freezing cold day and of course it was snowing. So he bundled up and made his trek to the mailbox. He was so proud of himself. I couldn't resist taking pictures. It was really cute!!
