Fartsy

Rocky & Bullwinkle had a pretty great way of naming their episodes.  It's as if the writers couldn't decide on one so they had two that they let the viewer decide on (ex. A Rock for Rock or To Each His Stone).

I was thinking of doing the same thing for this post and naming it "The Artsy Farsty North West or Big Time Mobs At Large" (the second title coming from a fairly large piece of graffiti just out Seattle that is a nod to the big time mobs Seattle is so famous for...).

In the end I decided on overly simplifying and just naming it Fartsy (I guess that's obvious since you can see for yourself what the title is).

Anyway, this is a small collection of all the artistic things we experienced on our trip ("saw" is so pedestrian, we experienced the art. no drugs were induced in the making of this experience). (Oh, btw, if you don't like parenthetical statements you should probably stop reading the post three paragraphs ago)

There was a wide range of pieces: fountains, graffiti (inspiration ranging from vintage photography to teeth and everything in between), neon, cars, (formerly) wet cement, natural, and more!

Fountains

(this one was so cool we needed another shot of it)
(they drained the water from this here little pond, but it reminded my of some Banksy stuff)
(the International Fountain at the Seattle Center is AWESOME!!!! especially if there are other people there because they can be ridiculous and VERY funny to watch)
(I think this one should have played music)

Sculptures

 (interpretive)
 (delicious)
 (with my sack of fruit)

(yeah Andrea, when pigs fly!)

(just hangin' out with Lenin)

(I never really knew what the bottom of a rocket looked like before)

 (just waitin' for the bus)

(this is Chime Tower, it looks like a fountain pen)
 (Paul Bunyan is tall...)
(...and he has a big hanky)

(I think they see a salmon)
 (deep in a conversation)

(tryin' to get a bite)

Carvings

Graffiti
(cool)
 (cooler!)
 (coolest!!!!!)

 Neon
(the family crest)

Painting

(we stepped back in time - this place was totally a blast from the past)

Cars
(maybe should be classified as an animal?)
(!!!!!!!!!!!)

Cement

(this easily missed little beauty is right outside the school Matt Groening went to)

Natural
(I don't know about you but these totally look like the clouds in the VERY beginning of the Simpsons' opening sequence.  Wait, this IS where Matt Groening grew up... it's all coming together now!)

Miscellaneous

 (true!)
 (salt - lick)
(someone thinks they need this light)
