I watched Winter's Bone last night. I'm still thinking about it. What a great performance by Jennifer Lawrence. I love movies that are so well acted that you loose focus on symbolism, cinematography, or anything a cinema snob would focus on and instead get sucked into the story, the people, and the events that unfold. Jennifer and the supporting cast performed so well that I forgot that it was just a movie. It's such a grim tale and could be true. I highly recommend this one. And though it is R, its more to do with the subject matter than anything else. I'm telling you, it's psychologically hard-core. But so so good.
