Christmas 09

This Christmas Kyle and I decided we wouldn't over do it, but he never listens to me. Back in October Kyle talked me into letting him get a bullet reloading system and he would consider that Christmas. Well as you can see he won. It has been nice though cuz he was able to get up after surgery and spend some time reloading bullets and I think that helped motivate him in getting better. He also humored me on Christmas day by letting me take a picture of him with it. =)
I got an awesome ipod docking stereo system. My regular stereo broke and so Kyle surprised me with a new one. It is AWESOME!!! Then as you can see my friend Becca got me a pug calendar which only makes me want another pug! and my friend Sunny got me a mug that has my favorite pictures of Jaxsen on it. This was a good Christmas =) We also recieved a cool book that my mom put together of pictures from our last family reunion. It was way neat to look at the pictures. I never would have thought to put them in a book. Thank you Mom!!!

Well this next picture is of Jaxsen and his present. He has a soccor ball that he just loves but he ends up ruining it after awhile so I got him a new ball that I'm pretty sure he can't ruin. It is pretty fun to watch him play with it cuz he can't see where he is going when it is in his mouth =)
We had a great Christmas with Kyle's family. We had some yummy food at his sister's house and his mother's house. We saw lots of family we don't see very often. I wasn't in much of a Christmas mood but being around family sure helped out alot.

It's Christmas Season!

It is officially Christmas Season!!!! I'm so excited! I love this time of year. I love the music, the decorations, snow and wearing cute warm sweaters! I got my christmas tree up and did it totally different than I have ever done. I put stars, snowflakes and rafia bows. I think it looks ok. It is a nice change from having a red n white tree. I'm sad that we won't be putting up lights outside this year. I just wish the kids would leave our house alone. It really ruins the christmas spirit when kids come and mess with the lighted deer. Oh well. This year we will be spending Christmas with Kyle's family and I'm so excited. His mom and sister always cook some yummy food! I can't wait for Christmas!!!!

Thanksgiving

This year Kyle, Jaxsen and I went home to Duchesne for Thanksgiving. Everyone was there except Brian and Becca. We had a great time. The food was fabulous! and so was the company. Friday we got to go see Grandma. She looks so good. I just wish her memory was better. Atleast she remembered me so I was thankful for that.

I was so thankful that Kyle was able to handle the ride home. It just wouldn't have been thanksgiving without him. I'm so thankful that his surgery went so well and that he is feeling better. I'm thankful for all my family and friends. I"m thankful that I do have a job and for most of the people I work with =) Just kidding. I do love all the people I work with.

I love this season cuz once thanksgiving is over Christmas is so much closer! I love Christmas!! I'm looking forward to spending Christmas with Kyle's family. Thanks again to everyone who prayed for Kyle to recover quickly from his surgery.

Kyle's Surgery Part 2

WE ARE HOME!!!! Man this was such a long week. I finally got a picture of Kyle. I think he must have had a pain pill on board cuz there is no way he would let me take a picture any other way. =) Friday he finally felt good enough to walk. It was so awesome to be there to see him walk. I know it sounds stupid but what he went through to get that far was amazing. He first walked to the nurses station and little farther which was about 30 feet. (I could be off a few feet.) Then the physical therapist came acouple hours later and he walked a long ways. He was so tired when she was done with him. His last attempt was to the elevator and it was all I could do to keep him from getting on and leaving! Most of the nurses were good to him but he had 2 that were horrible! It sure ruins the experience when one nurse decides to ignore his requests. Oh well now I'm the one that he gets to bug about his pain medications. (Wish me luck! I'm sure he will want to divorce me cuz I'm going to follow the rules). I want to thank everyone for your prayers. He did great and I have my husband back. I was just nervous something horrible would happen but nothing like that did. Thank you again!!!

Kyle's Surgery

Well Kyle went to Las Vegas to have surgery this past tuesday. He had an anterior/posterior back fusion. They went thru his belly and put a plate on L4-5 and L5-S1. Then they flipped him over and put a plate and rod on the same vertebreas thru the back. Dr. Kabins did the surgery and he said it went perfect. Kyle is doing good but he is in alot of pain as expected. Today he has gotten up 5 times and this last time he moved so much faster. I think he is making great progress. I went to take a picture of him but my batteries were dead. I will have to stop at the gift shop at the hotel and buy some. He is staying at UMC and I'm at Palace Station Casino. Both places are nice. The people at UMC are so nice except Kyle's nurse today. He seems to think that Kyle doesn't need any pain meds. I think Kyle has thought about killing him but I won't let it happen. I will keep you posted and hopefully be able to get a picture. Maybe I'll ask him when he has had a few pain meds on board. He pretty much does whatever I ask then. I got him to walk to the door which was huge for him.

They Say It's Your Birthday!!

This past weekend Jaxsen and I celebrated our birthdays. I just wanted to post some pictures of us. We had a great weekend. We went and picked up pine nuts with Kyle's sister and brother in law, went to St. George to do some shopping and watched movies. It was a nice relaxing weekend.

This picture is of Jaxsen when I first got him. He is 2 months old. He was so cute. Mostly eyeballs and ears!

I was driving home one weekend and had Jaxsen in the front seat with me. I looked over and he had his face between my cd case and the seat. I thought it was so cute!

Truck Racing

This weekend Kyle and I went with some friends to Las Vegas to the Truck Racing which is just like NASCAR but with trucks. It was so much fun. The weather was so hot it was around 107 but as soon as the sun went down it was perfect and around 81 degrees. The race was pretty quick too but I do have to admit I didn't watch much of the race. We had a couple in front of us that were fighting the whole time. It was pretty distracting but entertaining. It is funny what alcohol does to a person. They had a few drinks in their system. The last picture is really there to show off the pretty sunset. The colors were amazing! We had a great time and wouldn't mind going again. The tickets were free so you can pass that up! (Except never eat at the Saraha Casino Buffet. It was GROSS!!!)

Fall

Last weekend I wanted to go up the mountain to take pictures of the red leaves and hopefully get some of us. Thank goodness Kyle is a good husband and didn't mind taking me up the mountain. The leaves on the trees were just begining to change and there were mostly red leaves. It was so beautiful. I have decided that Fall is my favorite time of year. As you could tell Jaxsen didn't coperate very well with the camera. He usually does but there was just too much going on for him to stare at the camera.

NICKELBACK!!!

This was the coolest concert I have ever been to. All the bands were AMAZING!!! The first band was Saving Abel. They are new and didn't have too many songs to sing but they still did a good job. Papa Roach was the 2nd band and I was so surprised at how many songs of theirs I knew. They aren't my favorite band but they put on a very good concert. This first picture is of Papa Roach. This also shows how great our tickets were. We were so close.

The 3rd band was Hinder. We had seen them before and they did a great job but this time was different. This time the lead singer jumped off stage and went thru the crowd singing the song. This next picture is of the singer as he was right in front of us. There wasn't anyone in the row infront of us for some reason and he darted in and stood on the chair. We were so shocked that we weren't able to get the camera out soon enough to get a good picture, but you could tell how close he was. It was so awesome!

Nickelback came out when it was pretty dark so we weren't able to get any good pictures of them but they were awesome. Actually words can't describe how much fun we had and good they were. I absolutely love their songs and they sang all the best ones. They had fireworks going, flames, cool light show and great interaction with the crowd. We sang songs by garth brooks and ac/dc. They sang for 3 hours straight. The drummer did the coolest drum solo. He has some serious talent. The AC/DC song was sung by the lead singer from Hinder. He did a great job.
This concert was so good that we are actually thinking of going to the one in Vegas. I can't wait for them to put out a new album! Thank you Kyle for taking me to the Nickelback concert for our anniversary!

2 Years!!!

This past tuesday Kyle and I celebrated our 2 year anniversary! We couldn't believe how fast time as gone. We went out to dinner with Kyle's family and had a great time. When I came home from work I had flowers waiting for me on the counter. They are so pretty!

I'm so glad that Kyle and I have eachother. I love him so much! I can't imagine my life without him. He is my bestfriend. He is always there when I have bad days and helps remind me of the things we have to be thankful for. I can't wait to have many more anniversary's!!!

I LOVE YOU KYLE!!!

Girls Weekend!

This past weekend I went to Las Vegas with a few of my co-workers to have a girls weekend. I'm so glad I went. It was nice to hang out with my friends outside of work. We went to dinner at Dick's Last Resort. That is what the first picture is. The servers there are very rude to you but that is the whole point of the place. They throw your napkins and forks at you and then once they get to know you alittle better they start to write funny things on paper hats and give them to you. Some of them were very mean so I won't repeat what any of them said. =) The rule in Vegas is what happens here stays here so i'm only putting up the group picture at dinner up and my picture with my hat. After dinner we went to a country night club called Stoney's. They have a mechanical bull there and alot of the girls rode the bull. It was so funny to watch them try to stay on. I was too tired to ride. We finally went home around 4 in the morning!! I haven't stayed up that late in forever! Saturday we did some major shopping and hung out by the pool. Then I went home with some of the girls that night while the rest of them stayed till Sunday. We had a great time and I can't wait to go again.

North Carolina Trip

Over July 24th Weekend Kyle and I went to North Carolina. A co-worker of Kyle's won a trip there and wasn't able to go so we got to go instead. We had a blast! I would move there is a heart beat. I wish I had taken pictures of the place. It was amazing. The East coast is so green! There were so many trees that you couldn't see the towns from the freeway. So the whole point of the trip was Super Car Sensation. It is a company that owns luxury cars like Lamborghini, Porsche, Aston Martin, Nissan GTR, Mercedes, Ferrari, BMW. You can choose from different plans and we got to go on the 4 hour road tour of Charlotte. We got to drive all the cars but the Ferrari (someone wrecked it acouple weeks before we got there), BMW, and the Mercedes. You go on your ride and every now and then we would pull over and change out drivers. Kyle got to drive all 4 cars and I drove 2 of the cars. I have to admit I was too scared to drive the Lamborghini. It was so wide and the roads are very narrow I knew I would crash it. We had such a good time. We decided out of all the cars we would totally buy the Nissian GTR. I got the car going 115 miles per hour. It was awesome. We drove on the back roads and every now and then you would slam the gas pedel down and get it going as fast as you could and then slow down to the speed limit. I would totally recommend this experience. We stayed in Charlotte for 3 days. We have a chaffeur the whole time. We rode around in Lincoln's the whole time. It was really nice to not have to worry about directions or anything. I've posted some pictures of us on our road trip. This first picture is of the Nissian GTR. The second and third is of the attention getter Lamborghini. Then the last picture is of the other cars we got to drive as well as the BMW. Our tour guide drove that car the whole time. He said he prefers the BMW over any of the cars they have there.

Swimming at the Lake

Yes I am going to bore you with pictures of my dog. This weekend Kyle surprised me by taking me and Jaxsen to Sand Hollow. First thing it was HOT!!!! I think it got to the upper 90's if not in the 100's. Don't worry though I took the sunblock! So we got there Saturday and we immediately decided to get in the water. It felt so good. Jaxsen has only been to the lake 2 times before. The first time he loved the water and kinda figured out how to swim. The 2nd time we had Max and he pretty much tried to drown Jaxsen as much as possible. So this time Jaxsen was all by himself and loved it. He caught onto swimming so fast. The only reason I'm talking about this is cuz Jaxsen is not meant to swim. His paws aren't webbed and he pretty much is too fat to float. He eventually got to the point where he would just take off swimming. I was so proud.

Even Kyle got in the water. It took us both awhile before we would go too far into the water but eventually the cold water won over the hot sand. We went for a ride on the sand dunes on our razor. I have to admit the Razor was a very good purchase. I'm not a fan of fourwheelers but this is so much fun. I can just go along for the ride and not have to worry about driving. It was a pretty fun weekend. It wore all of us out but I thought this picture of Jaxsen pretty much explained how hard we all played this weekend.

Awesome Weekend

This weekend I got the chance to go with my sister and her two daughters to Manti and see the Manti Pageant. I have seen it once before but I couldn't remember much about it. I was so excited to have a girls weekend with my sister. I got a call from work saying that I didn't need to go into work on friday and so I left early friday to hang out with my nieces. I always plan to hang out with my sister but I never get a chance since my nieces can always talk me into playing dolls and whatever else they want to do. =) So the time finally came and we took off. Wow is pretty much all I can say about the pageant. I had so many emotions. I cried alot mostly. It was so powerful! I'm glad that Carrie invited me to go. I probably wouldn't ever go becuase I never think about it. THANK YOU CARRIE and GIRLS!!!!

Then on sunday Kyle wanted to take me for a ride up the mountain. There is a cabin up there that a sheep herder made himself to protect himself from bears. After a long and very bumpy road Kyle finally remembered where it was. This cabin is neat! Everything inside he made. I guess the guy who made it doesn't live in it anymore but whoever owns the land takes very good care of the cabin. Looking at the cabin was pretty fun but the thought of bears being around pretty much scared me and so we didn't spend too much time there.

LAS VEGAS

Well I have survived my week in Las Vegas and I'm sad to say I'm back in Cedar City. We had such a great time. I learned so much. I don't have any pictures to show because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and pics can be used against ya! HA HA There really wasn't anything great to take a picture of anyways. But I will tell ya all about it. So we get there Tuesday and Leslee and I have a suture workshop to go to and we got to Vegas kinda late. We headed over to Ceasars Palace and could not find parking at all! We had to use valet which I have never used before and come to find out the President of the United States was speaking at the Ceasars Palace at the same time as our class. Man that would have been so cool but he made our lives miserable trying to find parking and then it took us 1hour 45 minutes to find our car becuase they shut down the valet place we used earlier!!! It was so frustrating. But it would have been so cool to have seen him. I guess I can always say I was pretty dang close to seeing him in person. Our suture class was cool. We learned some other ways of closing patients skin and we also learned how to tie knots. Now I know all you boy scouts or girl scouts out there think that was a waste of time but these knots were so hard! Then that night we went to the Broadway show Lion King. That was so awesome!! They did a great job and I would recommend everyone going. The rest of the week was filled with meetings and dinner. We hardly ate breakfast or lunch so that we could spend all our money on dinner. That is pretty much all we did. We went and saw some of the sights. We had to go see the water show at the Bellagio casino. It is my favorite. I could stand there all day but thank goodness we didn't because it was so HOT!!! We sat at the pool for an hour and I got burned. I even had sunblock on. If I ever have the chance to go again I would love to. I was blown away by how many scrub techs there are and by the age difference.

Memorial Day Weekend

We decided to go camping this warm Memorial day weekend by going to Gold Springs UT or NV (it just depends on which side of the state line you camp on). We got there friday night and were surprised by how many people were there camping. We have been out there many times and never seen anyone camping there before. We always camp in the same spot and were pretty worried by all the people we saw that our spot would be gone. Thankgoodness it wasn't!

I love going here in the spring time becuase of all the wild flowers. It reminds me of all the flowers back home we use to find on the mountain behind our house. I don't know the true name of these flowers but I grew up calling them Indian Paint Brushes. So this picture is for you mom becuase for some reason I remember you saying that you loved these flowers. I don't know if that is true or not.

These next 2 pictures are of the "Charlie Rose" mine. This guy and pretty much every other guy there built their homes right next to their mine. I don't think that I could handle living next to a huge deep whole in the ground and not be worried that I would fall down it in the middle of the night!

There is stuff like this all over the place. I have a hard time imagining people working so hard for a living and then all of a sudden picking up and moving somewhere else and leaving all their equiptment there.

This is a picture of the only house left standing in the town of Fay. You can see lots of remains of house foundations here.

This place is pretty neat though. I never thought of it as a ghost town until I tried to google it. I guess up until 5 years ago alot of the buildings were still standing. A mining company came in and pushed alot of the buildings over so no one would get hurt by going in them. There is atleast one mine there still open. The Nevada mining company is still working on what is called "The Snowflake" mine. You can't go very far into many of the mines. Most of them have collapsed in. We have wandered through a few of them. This trip we actually found 3 new mines that we had no idea were even there. We didn't have any flashlights so we didn't go in but next time we are for sure going in. We found one that still had alot of the tracks coming out of the mine for the railroad carts. I can't wait to explore the mines next time. I will for sure write all about it. I wish I had taken pictures of the openings. One of them is big enough that I can walk into it for quite a ways.

Tutu's Part 2

Well I have finally finished the tutu's for my nieces. I have to admit that the smaller ones turned out so much better but these are still cute. I just hope the older girls like them. I guess if they don't they can put them on teddy bears or up in the closet. These two new tutu's look much better in person. The camera just doesn't do them justice. The one for Holly is way cute. It has purple, green and yellow in it. You can't see all the colors in the picture. Rylee's was suppose to be my favorite because it is blue. But I should have just done the dark blue and white. I'm not sure if the light blue looks good in it or not. But it is the coolest cuz it has Duchesne colors!!!

Tutu's

This weekend I thought that I would try to make the no sew tutu's for my nieces. So I googled it on the internet to find out how to do it. The video seemed so easy I figured I could do it. Well it is easy but oh my gosh it takes forever to get the first one done. I almost didn't even attempt the second one, but as you can see I did. These two are for Savanah and Avery. I'm just glad I started with the little ones. I hope they like them too. If not I figured they can put them on a stuff animal. I almost put one of them on Jaxsen for him to model it for everyone to see but I figured I would get animal control called on me =) I'm hoping to get the other two made this week.

JAXSEN!!!

The day has finally come that Jaxsen is making his debut on the internet! I was going to earlier but thought no one wanted to see him. But friends at work couldn't believe that I didn't have him on my blog since he is pretty much all I talk about. So I've had him ever since he was 2 months old and only 5 pounds. He was so cute and tiny!!! Now he is 4 1/2 months old and I think about 25 pounds. He is now a chunk! I need to get better at taking him for a walk everyday. When I got him I had no clue as to what to call him. So I tried out a few names and Jaxsen was the only one he responded to. He has so much personality. Hopefully these pictures show ya how fun he is. He humors me by letting me dress him up and take his picture. I really think he likes it but as soon as he is out in public he hates to have clothes on. His favorite thing is to go for rides on the fourwheeler and razor. His first experience on a fourwheeler you couldn't get him off. Kyle took off and he chased him down until Kyle picked him up and took him. Now we drive the razor and if we leave it out in the backyard we usually catch him sleeping in it. He is so spoiled but he is my child and I will spoil him all I want!
