I'm Still Here

I have been out of the blog world since my trip to India. Life has been crazy and now I find myself back here. All my friends who use to read this probably gave up on me..well if that is the case then, I am writing for my own pleasure!

This picture was taken in London (lovely wonderful London). St. Paul's Cathedral there behind me...breath taking view from the upper dome!

Anywhoo, i will be posting some long overdue photos soon.
Ciao!

Bangalore, India

In one day I leave for Bangalore, India! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would ever visit India. The reason we are going makes this trip even more exciting-we are going to an Indian wedding.
I have been preparing for this trip for a long and I'm still not ready. I haven't been this excited and nervous sense my mission! My biggest worry is the kids of course. They are my everything! I just hope I prepared well enough for their sake. And, of course I pray for our safety(my biggest worry).
I will post pictures when we get back. Oh, and we are spending 4 days in London on the way back!!! I am a lucky girl indeed!!!!!
Wish me lucky!
Amy

My Inner Narcissist

Yesterday, I went shopping for shorts for our trip to Texas. I was at Nordenstroms and I happened upon some Citizen jean shorts. I have always wanted a pair of these but, come on I am not paying $165.00 for a pair of shorts. Miles said I could buy a pair of jeans for my anniversary gift but, never got around to it.

So, I grabbed a pair and headed to the dressing room. I thought why are you even trying them on there is no way you are going to buy shorts for this much (maybe if they threw in the rest of the material for the legs). I turned off my conscience and slid them on. Wow! I could not believe how good they looked better yet I looked good. And, my butt people-it was looking ten years younger!

I thought surely Miles would appreciate my little behind in these. I took them to the check out and the blonde beauty behind the register rang them up. I heard her say the total and reality set in. I smiled and told her I needed to try them on one more time.

Again, they looked amazing! All awhile I was having the debate. Do they look good because they are expensive or are they really that much better than other jeans and that is why they cost so much. In the end I decided that it didn't matter why they looked so flippin good, I couldn't pay that much for so little material (my mom would be proud-that bargain hunter little minx).

But, the story has a happy ending! On my way out I remembered about Plato's Closets (a second hand store that only take in fashion clothes) across the street. I parked my car and walked into endless rows of jeans. I found my section and there they were hanger after hanger of these darn jeans with less than half the price. At this moment I was greatful for spoiled little tinyboppers who get what ever they want and cash them in for the lastest and greatest. They were so cheap I even threw in a pair of Sevens. Oh, happy day for my frugal heart.

Our Trip

Poor things Miles made them get out of the car to take a picture by Delicate Arch (I think Lilly was the sickest at this point).

We, made it back from our two week camping trip to Arches National Park and Utah. Nothing like camping in 20 below temperatures, snow, rain, 30mph wind gust, drunk cussing campers near by, and sick kids and husband with fevers of 101 degrees. Other than that we had a blast! Ask me if I am ever going camping again in Utah, go a head I dare you.

Every year we venture to the great Salt Lake area for the annual Germer reunion (which is always a camping trip and takes place in the summer). It always sounds like a good idea but, every year we get sick, and not just the sniffles! I am talking fevers, vomit, and other kinds of bodily fluid. I don't want to sound like a sour puss but, I am never driving 14 hours again to tend to sick people CAMPING!!!!!!!
