Rain, Rain

Michael has taken on the job of "mail getter" lately and he takes it seriously. With all this rain we've been having, it's made the job a bit harder for him. The other night, while it was pouring, he remembered that he hadn't gotten it yet and was dying to go, even in the rain. Johnny told him he could go, but he had to strip down to his undies so it'd be easier to dry off afterwards. Ryan had to go too, of course. They screamed the entire time they were out in it cause it was so cold, but they were laughing hysterically too. They loved it!! Here are a few pics of the fun...pardon the undies, but it was MUCH easier than stripping off wet clothes afterwards, they were soaked!!

T-ball

This year was Michael's first at playing t-ball, and he's loved every minute of it! While we like sports, we are not obsessed in any way with them, so Michael has not been exposed much to the "game". Needless to say, he had much to learn. He has come along way since the first practices. He wasn't even sure where 1st base was in the beginning. :) The league he is in started back in March and actually ends here in the next couple of weeks. I'm so thankful that we'll have gotten the whole season done with before the newest addition arrives. I'm just sad I'll have to miss his last few games. Bedrest stinks!! Here are a few pictures of his t-ball experience so far.

This was after their 1st game....so excited to have won!!
Michael received the very first game ball....he was so proud and excited!!What form he has!

Ryan is definitely his biggest fan! He sits there chanting, "Let's Go Lugnuts, Let's Go, Whoo, Whoo!"

Michael's 5

Michael Kross, born March 8th 2004 at 2:42 a.m, weighed in at 6lbs 9oz and was 20 inches long. He was born three weeks early and almost came on my birthday, the 7th. What a special gift he was and is! 5 years later, he is in preschool and absolutely loves it!! He has just started playing t-ball and is excited about that too. He is very smart and amazes me daily with the things he knows. He can read some easy words by sounding them out and has just recently started learning about syllables and is doing very well with that as well. He is always full of energy and hardly ever stops talking, even in his sleep! What a blessing he is to our family, Happy Birthday Michael! I love you! I'm 1!! pool fun!
fixing to head to t-ball tryouts!

Another Bundle of Joy

Well, as most of you probably already know, we are expecting baby #3. I am 19 weeks and 5 days along, which makes the baby due on June 17th. I was pretty sick in the beginning and had very little energy. I lost 12 pounds and have only gained 3 of that back. However, the baby seems to be doing very well and is measuring right where it should be. I ended up in the hospital a couple of weeks ago with a kidney stone which was absolutely no fun at all. Thankfully we have some wonderful friends and family that helped us out tremendously. Above all, I have the most helpful and loving husband around. He has taken on so many tasks around the house and has truly amazed me with all that he has been doing on top of his job. Thank you Johnny for all you do!! I love you!
As for the gender of baby 3, we had our ultrasound today and it appears that we are having another boy. He's apparently going to be as stubborn and hard headed as the rest of the Davis boys, he sure didn't make it easy for us to see. He spent the entire ultrasound with his legs crossed down at his ankles. We are pretty certain of what we saw though, so we are now making arrangements to welcome Caleb Lee Davis into the world. Below are a couple of the pics from today.

Ryan is 3 years old!

At 12:58p.m. on September 10, 2005, Ryan Parker Davis entered the world. He weighed in at 7lbs 12.3oz and was 20 inches long. Today he weighs 40lbs and is about 40 inches tall. My how time changes things. He started preschool this fall and is absolutely loving it. He thinks he's every bit as big as Michael and doesn't like to be told he can't do something. He eats as much as I do, but doesn't seem to be gaining weight like me...oh to have the energy and metabolism of a 3 year old. :) He loves going to church, playing outside, and all of his friends. He's such a sweetheart! I'm so glad God blessed me with this little man. Happy Birthday Ryan!!

Camping and Painting

Been a while since I've written anything on here. I've thought about it several times but I never feel like I have anything too exciting to write about, until we went camping in the backyard the other night!! Johnny decided it'd be fun to set up our tent in the backyard and camp. So, we did and it was lots of fun. The kids had a blast!! We grilled hamburgers, then made a campfire and made s'mores!! I love s'mores! Turns out Michael and Ryan do too. :) After getting all cleaned up from that, we settled down in our tents. Michael and Ryan all snuggled in their sleeping bags, Johnny and I all cozy on our king size air mattress (only way to sleep in a tent, atleast in my opinion!). We got all laid down around 8:30 and by 10:30 we were headed in to sleep inside. It was so humid outside that Ryan started having a coughing fit and couldn't seem to get past it. Oh well, Michael was the only one who was upset about it, so he slept in his sleeping bag in the floor of his room. Maybe next time we can actually GO camping!

Johnny airing up the air mattress!!

Cooking our burgers~YUM! Johnny's a great griller!Mesmerized by the fire.Enjoying their YUMMY s'mores!

Lately the kids have been wanting to help me cook. So I thought a fun project for us would be to make them some aprons. I think they turned out pretty good. Michael picked baseballs for his and wanted to have the Cardinals on it, Joshua and Jason have been a big influence in that department. We don't watch a whole lot of sports around here. Ryan wanted a football and since daddy's a Vandy fan, we went that route with his. They are very proud of their new aprons! It wasn't as much of a "do it" together project as I was hoping, but they still had fun!

Lastly, I've recently taken on the daunting task of painting our house. I've started in the kitchen and hope to progress out from there. So far, I really like the way it is looking. The rest of the house looks awful now that the kitchen has some character though. Oh well, I'll get it all done eventually.

Tubes & Preschool

So, I'm a little behind on posting about these things. To sum it up though, Ryan got a second set of tubes put in his ears last Friday and also got his adenoids taken out. The doc said he had alot of fluid behind his ears and that his adenoids were very enlarged. We had noticed a decrease in his hearing, which was confirmed by a hearing test, but now thanks to the tubes has improved greatly. The "What's" have tapered off tremendously....thanks goodness!!
He brought 2 stuffed animals from home (Nemo and ShereKhan) and a toy Lightning McQueen to have as "comfort". When we got back tot he pre-op room, they had a beenie baby bird for him too. He was super comforted!!

Secondly, both the boys started into a preschool program on Monday...woohoo!! They both really seem to be enjoying themselves. Ryan was a little unsure the first day but seems to be over any anxiousness now. I didn't even get a goodbye today when I dropped them off. :(
I guess it's enough to know they are liking it. So far they haven't asked to stay longer and not come home!! That's when I might start getting a bit sad.
