Art
Art had never been my forte, but I really do see its importance! The kids come up with their own art and crafts but I'm making more of an effort to be more proactive about it. And it helps to have friends that excel in this area!
Hence the following....
Tissue paper, construction paper, glue, and paints...

Sewing
One of Chaeli's hobbies...
I'm so thankful that now she can do the mending and the sewing on of Pathfinder patches! And she loves it! I'm also thankful for the sewing lessons that she's been receiving this school year. She's a girl with many talents!
Food Drying Honor
David got me a good dehydrator for Christmas and we finally got a chance to try it out. We tried fruits and veggies and herbs and fruit and veggie leather. All of it was great!
Our Snowman
We have not had a lot of snow this winter, so the kids have had to make use of the little snow we have gotten. It was finally good for making snowman so out they went and up went the snowman. He had a carrot nose and a scarf and a mouth and all the rest.
That evening we were shocked when someone from the neighborhood walked by with their dog...and they let their dog pee on our snowman! Amazing.
Pathfinders and Adventurers
The first photo is on sabbath as sonnet of the pathfinders and adventurers were leading song service for sabbath school.
These next ones are during adventurers add they are earning the First Aid Award.
Somehow I even managed to cut myself the next day and Dillon got to put his first aid skills to work.
King Tut Exhibit
We went up to Grand Rapids to go through the Kind Tut Exhibit before it left town and it was totally worth it!
We learned so much about King Tut's life as well as about Egypt, mummies, and pyramids. But the best thing of all was that we listened to the whole exhibit on personal audio devices. This was so great because my 6 year old could learn add much as my 12 year old without reading a thing. Definitely liked that part!
Bittersweet
The kids and I went north for a funeral right after the new year. Funerals are always a reminder of sin and sadness, but also a reminder that we haver hope past the grave. Jesus IS coming again and after that there will be no more sorrow or tears or death again! I look forward to that day!
While up north, we also spent time with very dear friends!
Grandma B
What a special little lady! We went to TN the day after Christmas and got to enjoy some previous time with my grandma....my last living grandparent.
Or Christmas Tradition
Our absolute favorite tradition of the year -- Taking treats and singing to people who have to work on Christmas morning!
One lady was so excited because she knew who we were. She had been in a nail place the month before when we had come in handing out apple cider packs.
Without knowing it we also gave goodies to a church member. At one hotel we left the things for some house keepers that were on the floor cleaning. One happened to be a church member and she knew right away that her pastors family had been by! :)
It is definitely more blessed yup give than to receive!
His Two Front Teeth
Two days before Christmas and her lost his two front teeth! Of course, we listened to the song some none of the kids had heard it. Such a cute look!
