This miracle happened last night, when I was in JJ. I'm glad it taught me a lesson -
a lesson on taking better care of my things and being honest :)
I was watching Rango in JJ and I put my handphone in my pocket. I didn't really pay attention to my phone as it was turned to silent mode in the cinema and I left the cinema when the movie ended -
without checking the seat for anything I left behind. It was like, about half an hour later when I realised with horror that my phone was
gone! My pocket was as good as empty and I was starting to panic (who wouldn't?) 'cause I can't live without my phone >.<
So my family and I started looking everywhere in JJ - places that I'd walked before and shops that I entered, even the toilet, but without success. Looking in the cinema was fruitless, too - the phone was gone. And the last time I saw it was in the cinema, when I turned it to silent mode. My trust was starting to waver and yes, in this 21st century, you wouldn't find anyone who's not materialistic (
except me, okay? XD)
One of the cinema attendants told us that "
you'd never find your phone or purse if you dropped it in the cinema or any place filled with strangers. It's a slim chance - one in a million." And that made my heart sink. My family wasn't giving up yet though. They went around looking while I had to wait somewhere because I'm the one without a phone and they needed me to be in one place so I don't get lost. >.< And my sister was constantly calling my phone in hopes the person who got my phone will pick up the call. I was on the verge of giving up already when my sis sent a message to my phone: "
Pls, pls! Pls be kind and return tis phone!"
Then about 10 minutes later my sis got a call from my phone (from the ground floor). The woman (who works at the Info Counter) asked my sis to get my phone from the Information Counter and she told us that it was a couple who picked up my phone and gave it to her for 'Lost and Found Items'. They did not leave any details as to who they were... I wish they did, because I wanted to thank them for returning my phone.
They were the one in a million people who would return my phone and I was the one in a million who got back a phone I lost. I'm very, very grateful that they gave me back my phone even though I've never met them before.
I'm glad that there's still honesty and hope left in this harsh world. :)
"But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way?"
