Breaking the norm... Or not?

Is sleeping after 2.00 a.m. even considered breaking the norm now?

Perhaps not yet. I've been living in my own world of altered time, and what's normal for me is not normal for others. But then again, what seems normal for me is suddenly normal for others as well. I just found out that I'm not the only night owl.

Speaking of which, am planning to go to a friend's place later to 'night-owl' the night away for a report. It's this good friend who startled me with the fact that she's becoming a night owl, too. Will probably stay for 3 hours or maybe have a showdown on who can stay awake the longest.

Wait, did I remember to mention that I'm not normal?

Chill. Don't take me too seriously. ;)

March 14, 2015. The last date I actually posted something.

It's November, month of hurried morning laundry due to rainy evenings. The month of adrenaline rush in the middle of lone nights where there's only the laptop to help you with your assignment. The month of new movies which were long awaited. (Crossing my fingers that they were worth the wait.)

The times where I can wake up in the morning with no need for an alarm are long forgotten.

It's moments like these in which I question my sanity. My mind spins and the blood sings in my veins, yet there is an odd desire to stay in place without hurrying. To leave some stones unturned for the sake of it.

I wonder what has become of me.

Time has ravaged what's left of my innocent naivety. I can no longer do what I want to, what I wish to, on my whims.

It's time.

The Shopaholic-Dorothy Analogy

I'm not sure why, too, but this scene just sticks to my mind when compared to all the other scenes. Ha.

"As we speak, interviews are being held at Successful Saving."

"The money magazine?"

"Snort not, sweet child. Alette may be your Emerald City, but Successful Saving could be your yellow-brick road. Dantay-West is a family of magazines that acts like a family. Deeply nepotistic. Ughh. So my advice to you, dear Dorothy, is thus... Once you're in... You're in."

That scene is just so.... memorable. Well it didn't stick the first time because I hadn't read the Wizard of Oz at the time, and after I actually read the book did I realise what he meant. Some things are better left unexplained, but some things are best investigated to satiate one's curiosity. Hmmm. Did I just... Did I just say that? I'm sorry, that was a poor attempt at being all philosophical.

By the way, excellent job by the actor. I mean, was that already in the script or did he think up all those hand gestures by himself? That was really attention-grabbing.

Untitled #3

It beckoned her like honey to a bee.

She followed the disembodied voice, and it led her deeper into the building. Carefully, she stepped into a corridor lined with numerous open windows. The corridor seemed to be never-ending. Giving in to her curiosity, she walked and looked at each window. One window showed a view of beautiful, lush forest, strays of sunlight streaking through the leaves of old trees. Another showed an empty hall. Yet another showed… the inside of a packed shopping mall? She was beginning to have an odd feeling creeping up her spine. She stared at that particular window, and she realised what was so weird, and somehow eerie about the windows.

Each and every environment out the window was moving of its own accord.

She shut her eyes and shook her head, and looked again. Indeed, the movement outside the windows seemed strangely familiar…

As though she were looking through another person’s eyes. A fourth window confirmed it, as it showed a boy in a classroom talking to the window itself. She went closer to the window, and it felt as though the boy was talking to her. The floor beneath her was solid, unmoving, and so were the windows themselves. A memory of a voice re-entered her mind.

The Room of Eyes..

Cautiously, she walked down the corridor, wary of each window now, of the unearthly feeling of looking through people’s eyes. She paused to look at one particular window, it showed an abandoned room, and it was one of the few windows not moving. Something, something came out from the corner of the dark room. It was a man covered in black from head to toe, and something sharp gleamed in his hands before it was raised to strike at the window, at her –

A huge, chilly gust of wind rushed past her down the corridor, and all the windows slammed shut at once. A voice made its way to her right ear, and sent her shuddering.

Hush.

Rain, regrets, respite

The lightning struck, once, twice, thrice. A brief flash of light flitted across the suddenly dull sky. Mist, rain, splashed and broke into millions of crystal-like pearls as it hit the earth. Endless trails of water travelled against the window panes of the building.

She sighed in relief.

She was to meet with her group members for a meeting in the library at four. Somehow, at her room, she sensed something amiss and decided to go to the library one and a half hour earlier. It had been nagging at the back of her mind for a while. Deciding to follow her senses, she took the bus and headed towards the library. She had been there for a mere half an hour and the rain poured mercilessly. Well, it really wasn't that heavy but when she imagined the prospect of taking the bus in the rain...

The lightning and thunder had quieted down somewhat. She wondered what time her groupmates would turn up. It would be a good one hour before they actually arrived.

Walking around the library, she finally discovered the novel section. She had always wondered if the library actually provided fiction books besides the numerous amount of research materials and oh-so-serious books. And there they were all along. She chuckled to herself, finding them was no good. The last thing she needed to distract her was a novel. Dragging her feet away, she found a vacant computer she could use. Going online, she decided to update her abandoned blog.

Gotcha! This is not some fiction, it's an update ;P

Into the soul, words will pour

It's an understatement when I say reading is my hobby. I love to read, because the words take me away to somewhere I can be immersed in thoughts, both joyful and sad. Reading can take you anywhere - from some ordinary, random street to worlds filled with magical entities.

The point is, reading gives me a sense of peace.

Did you say 'blog'?

Well, I'm back in here after a really looooooooooooooooooong time. Yes, I was halfway across the planet (Okay, maybe not the planet. Just hundreds of kilometres away from where I'd love to be.) but I'm back.

It's good to be back in the world of music again. Yes, I love listening to songs, I just didn't have much time to catch up on new songs. But I did check out BTOB's previous songs - Irresistible Lips and Insane - and their latest song, Wow. Did I mention Insane is my favourite? The thing is, it had never occurred to me that I would like any of their songs.

My friend first recommended their songs to me before they released Wow. At the time, I didn't pay much attention to many new artistes, what with the music industry in Korea churning out new groups and pretty boys and pretty girls faster than you can say "wait". And they're just so young, if I can remember, the youngest is 14? I'm not sure.

I remembered not bothering to listen to BTOB at first. Because all I had been thinking was, "They're just another group". But then I found out that they are from Cube. Can't hurt trying to listen, right? So I started listening to their whole album without so much as a look at their faces or MVs. The songs didn't have an effect at first, but then when it started to sink in, I kept thinking that there were two guys with familiar voices.

One sounded like Junhyung and the other sounded like Hyunseung. What were B2ST members doing in their hubae's songs? (LOL.) And the more I listened, the more I realised they just sounded alike, but there's this tone to their voices. The one who sounded like Junhyung had a more young feel. And the more I listened, the more I started to like their songs. (My bias list is going to be ruined yet again.) :P

And the first MV I watched was of course, Insane.

Seriously?

You've got to be kidding me. The rapper's face reminded me of Junhyung. And the leader's face reminded me of Hyunseung. Most of all, there's this member whose face screams Heechul. Yep. My bias list is ruined. And I have entered the world of BTOB. *chuckles. But I managed to cast aside the lookalike feel, because Ilhoon and Eunkwang have their own styles. Sungjae? You don't look like Heechul anymore, rest assured. I have grown accustomed to your silliness, the maknae will forever act like a maknae. XD

And when they released Wow, BTOB is already in my bias list. The tune's catchy and kept replaying itself in my head for weeks now.

Okay BTOB, you just won over me. But not for long :P
