Castle

I tried to spoil my daughter and make her a lego castle for her little dolls. It turned into a larger project for me, sorry Elwyn, and since it takes a long while for me to take the time do make something worthwhile, I put the time and effort into a nice castle, without a whole lot of frills, trap doors and such. So here it is...my first castle in about 5 years.

Left Side

Rear View. Maybe I should put in a railing for the second floor....naw.

Top View

It actually has 3 levels. I left most of it "hand accessible." This is the first castle I've made which is open. as in most of the play area of the castle is completely open, lol, much like a real life castle! A few design elements I tried here, but previously avoided; Expanded upper section (where the upper floor(s) are bigger than the lower), windows, decorative flags, uniform arch theme. Tell me whatcha think!

Inspiration

Greetings. For all of you following my post.......oh uh, I guess there's only one of you, hmmm. Oh well! So here's the post I've been promising...I know it's late, but my computer was going slow the other day, and couldn't load pics.
I decided to put up some of my "inspired by outside sources" creations. Unfortunately for me, these didn't start out as inspired works, they just happen to look like other things! Funny how that happens.
This first one (above) was actually an attempt at utilizing a certain piece (there's actually four of said pieces). The piece in question is the round cylinder which surround the body, which look like gigantic rockets/engines.
So the ship that this most resembles is a starship from a cartoon movie called Titan AE. I tried to keep the white/black theme throughout, however the side fins (visible below) were the only ones of this shape avaliable. Sigh, oh well.

I also put in some Hot Rod details, to make it look powerful.

OK so this one is actually my second attempt at making a Dragon. I'll show the other later. This one was inspired by the Nazgul on The Lord of The Rings. I mixed two types of legos, the regular bricks as well as some from Bionicle, for the tail and legs.

The neck is in my first design of it, and I did change it to resemble dragon-ness, however, it looked like poo, so I reverted back the robotic design, which I like much better. The best thing about this peice is all of the poses it could do, definitely my most-poseable piece ever. And I know the quality of the pictures are aweful, but at least I bothered to take pics of them! Ok soo see you next post!

Welcome to Black-Tron!

Welcome!

Hey all, welcome to my new blog. I created it for the express purpose of displaying my Lego Creations. As you all know I have an immense collection of Legos, and still play (build, the playing part is with the kids) with them. I have lots of pictures of stuff I've created, as well as a memory of the things I once created, which I will try and re-create and then post :) Here goes!

This first one was actually the second one I built between the two, but for some reason it posted first. It's a Black-Tron ver.2 theme. Nothing special, but Tanner wanted 2 bad guys instead of 1, so I took about 10 min. and threw this one together.

This one I made from a website showing all of the lego sets ever made....ever. Kinda cool. I even found the very first lego sets I got when I was a kid. However, the design on the original was really bulky. It had legs that moved a bit on the underside of the cabin, so I removed them, I also changed the direction that the bigger semi-circles were facing, as well as the tail. Over all, I think It looks better! (below: landing/take-off mode)

Pretty much designed around kind of a space helicopter, if you will. Again the Black-Tron ver.2 motif. (below: hover mode)
Oh and by the way, there are other people like me so don't make fun....we're called AFOL...Adult Fan Of Lego. Hope you enjoyed lookin'! I know Tanner loves to play with them. He'll be so heartbroken when I have to dismantle them. Oh well.
