Working with Crate Paper Paper Heart Collection

Here are a few projects that our design team did using the new Paper Heart collection from Crate Paper.

A close up on Dear Lizzy and Fabrics

Hi all! We are starting a little something different at AMM. I thought I would make a point to share more of our products in videos just so you can get a better look at what you are purchasing, or thinking about purchasing.

This week I made a video featuring the new Dear Lizzy products in stock here.

In this video, we show you these new products and show you how you can consider these products for masculine as well as feminine layouts and projects.

In another video, we show you some of the fabrics that we currently carry. Fabric is not a frequent product for us, so the ones that we carry, we feel are kind of special and an exception to using strictly for sewing projects. Check this out and see the GORGEOUS new fabric with the rosettes!

Hope you like. Leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Hi All! Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was filled with a rummage sale at our kids' school, a surprise party for my daughter and then working on some AMM stuff ~ including posting some of our new button tags.

We have a customer by the name of Trista Hart (aka A Little Shed) who has an account on YouTube and she shared this video of Button Tags and trims that she received from AMM. Super cute little video and a nice way to see some of our stuff in real life. She also has some videos featuring her art work. Come by and check it out. She's a sweetheart too! Check out the links here and let us know what you think.

We have some new stuff in stock ~ These cute teal chipboard alphabets by Studio Calico as well as a bunch of brand new American Crafts Dear Lizzy Neopolitan papers, stamps and embellishments. Check them out HERE!!!

LOVE!!

This week, enjoy 45% off of your order using code GOGO at checkout. You'll get $5.99 shipping if you are a US customer. This is good for all items in the store except the new Dear Lizzy line "Neopolitan" and the new Studio Calico alphas.

Enjoy and have a great week!!! Oh and again, be sure to check out Trista Hart with A Little Shed on YouTube.

Sharing the Love.

One thing we've seen a lot recently are the presence of doily's and with Valentine's Day just right around the corner we're seeing a lot of heart shaped doily's.  Well let's see what our design team did with the doily Michelle sent them.

Marie Ramirez:
Marie used her doily as a mat for her title on this super cute LO.

Michelle Philippi:
Michelle made this really fun valentine bag.

Jennifer Longenecker:
I used mine as a backdrop on this little project for my sweet darlin'.
You can find instructions for the project below on my blog.

American Crafts Flutterby Inspiration with Marie Ramirez

When I saw these cute flutterbys I first thought how clever. I then loved the fact that they did all the work for me? There is so much u could do with these cute lil banners.

I decided to make a sweet little thank u card for my neighbor. The little banners were perfect for my sentiment.

I cut out bits of letters from a book page, used pp from the cp line and part of a button card from the AMM shop.

I had lots more flutterbys left. So many things I can make with just the one sheet!

You can find the Flutteryby's in the AMM store here.

Some Unusual & Unique New Emebellishments & 50% OFF

We picked up a bunch of new unique embellishments and trims this weekend, as well as adding some new button tags. We are still offering 50% off of your order, using code CLEAR2 at check-out, so this is a good time to get these one of a kind items and a price even lower than usual. PLUS U.S. SHOPPERS GET $5.99 SHIPPING!!!!

Here's a run-down of only SOME of the items that we have added so far (still going to add in some pearl centered yo-yo's and one of a kind TO DIE FOR vintage buttons that I'm sure you've never seen before).

So here we go -- we have these sequined flowers with pearl centers. These are beautifully hand crafted and each petal is bendable, so you can move and bend the petals up for more depth on your projects, or keep them flat. These are $2.25 plus 50% off --) HERE.

This is a collage of a few things ~ one is the sequined flower above, then there is this gorgeous ribbon flower doily on tulle (the hand crafted detail on this is not evident in this photo) and then we have some little white rose bouquets with blue centers. I love these for cards or little bouquets on layouts. They never overpower a project, which I appreciate.

Love the trims we picked out. My personal favorite is the first one, which is a white eyelet with a scalloped border. I always love eyelet because it is just clean, crisp and perfect for warmer weather projects. Plus ~ since it's white, it's easily alterable with mists if you need a splash of color.

The second beaded trim is a cream color and is all beaded. This is another photo that is not even close to giving this product the justice it deserves. Really pretty and detailed and VERY well made. I would guess that this product is used frequently on formal dresswear.

The third trim below is SO PERFECT for Spring, I think. You could use this on edging for your sewing projects, a purse or my personal favorite - your cards and scrapbook layouts. Again, I'm a sucker for white eyelet - fresh clean and perfect for warmer weather seasons.

The last product is a crochet venise trim. We only have this in 1 piece, so it's limited! It's about 4 iinches wide. Since CHA. I noticed that there are a lot of lace covered papers now available, so I thought this might be a nice twist to that idea (at half the price)Ok, my heart skips a beat whenever I see this. CHEVRON!!!!! CHEVRON!!!! CHEVRON!!!! Ahh, I just loved this so much when I saw it. I don't usually sell fabric, but hey, what the heck ~ I just imagined you all would see this and jump up and down like I did. It's such an amazing color combo too with the gray, yellow, cream and brown. Ahh, I just loved it!!! We actually have two other chevron fabrics with other color combinations, so be sure and check it out.

Ok, I am not always a fan of cutesy, silly and well, aliens or monsters, but AREN'T THESE STINKING CUTE?!!! My 8 year old daughter loved these and I actually had to give her one in every color and then my Son thought they were cool, so I had to give him some too. What we have left is what we added to the store. These would be SO SO CUTE in a mini book or scrapbook layout. They are vinyl and are stuffed and sewn up. They have little button eyes and little black sewn mouths ~ just super cute. We hope you think so too!
As you can see from the photo below, my daughter was even determined to to take photos of these little guys - see her little fingers? I kinda think she was trying to sneak one away too).
Button tags - I am addicted to these little things. I have so many little things in my store and SO many little treasures that I purchase all the time, it is a perfect way for me to present them to my creative customers. Can't wait to show you what I have coming up because I found a place this weekend that had me giddy when I was checking-out. Stuff was SO CUTE and SO PRETTY!!! I probably shouldn't be teasing you ~ just keep a heads up!
Ok, so we have more to come, but I wanted to show a little more detail than we do in our emails. Hope I gave you a little more insight into the quality and uniqueness to some of the things in our store.
Happy Sunday night and hope you have a great week!

American Crafts Flutterbys Inspiration with Michelle Philippi

I’m back today with a whimsical little love card.  The new Paper Heart collection by Crate Paper is so rustic and so colorful and reminds me so much of 6th grade.  I remember making and decorating a little pouch to hang on my desk for my classmates to come and drop my Valentine cards in.  {happy sigh}  I think what I love most about this collection actually is the infusion of so many other retro colors like the blue and the yellow.  Just so so fun.

My patterned paper and diecuts are from the Paper Heart collection and then my fun pennants at the top are those new Flutterbys from American Crafts; sure beats cutting or punching and stitching those out by hand!

A simple, fun, no-stamp card with lots of love put in to it and on it too!  More of me can be found on my blog.

American Crafts Flutterby Inspiration with Jennifer

Today I am going to show you how to create a shadow box featuring the new American Crafts flutterbys.

Step 1:  Grab a small empty box and carefully pull the sides and bottom apart to flatten the box.

Step 2:  Using a ruler mark where you want to cut your window then cut it out.  I marked mine half an inch from the creases.

Step 3:  I wanted to inside to be on the outside so I had to re-crease the box to fold the way I wanted it to then I needed to prime the inside with gesso.  You really only need to cover the edges, but my bottle of gesso spilled so I covered the whole thing.

Step 4:  Measure and cut pattern paper to fit the bottom, back, and top of the inside of your box.

Step 5:  Turn your box over, measure and cut a piece of coordinating pattern paper to frame the window on the front of your box.

Step 6: Flip the box back over so that you are looking at the inside and glue a strand of your flutterbys to the inside of the box.  To give the flutterbys more dimension fold them in half before adhering.

Step 7: Start embellishing the inside of your box making sure to create layers.  One thing that I did to give my elements a little depth was to take some poster putty, cut off small strips and hot glue them to my elements.

Step 8:  Fold and glue your box together, then cut and cover the sides on the inside of your box.

Step 9:  Measure and cut pattern paper to fit the top, sides, and bottom of your box.  Adhere with mod podge and you're all done.

Michelle has two different types of flutterbys for you to play with.  Check them out.
