Yay for holidays! We had an awfully busy 4th this year, it seemed like. We started the day, as usual, with the Provo parade. Mariona and Myron's families came up for the holiday, so I hung out with them to watch the parade. We were also joined by Carol and Joannie and some of their children. Good times. Oh, and Mocha of course was there :)

After the parade, Mocha and I hung out for awhile. Matt was near the end, so we knew we had time before he'd make his way back to the beginning of the parade. We did eventually get back to the car, where I remembered how to start Matt's car so we could sit with some air conditioning :)
After the parade, we were home for 1 to 2 hours is all. Matt changed and prepped for the Sandy parade and we took a short breather before heading up to my parents' house for a BBQ. We didn't realize how many people were going to be there! I think Joannie had all of her family, we had Myron and Maritza's families, Paul and Carol and Sammi and Amir were there, and Heidi and Tiffany's families were there. Holy crap. Oh! And Sunny and Quincy. Craziness. So much family I don't even know. We enjoyed some lunch and chatting - and some uber delicious birthday cake thanks to Vicki. Yum! After that, we loaded back into the car to drive to Sandy for their parade. Only this time, Matt was playing with Wasatch and District (which put him near to the end again. Good thing Sandy is short :))
So hot.
We found a nice shady spot to lay the blanket down.

I was super impressed and happy with the County Recorder, who tossed a couple of dog treats for Mocha. She hadn't really had any dog food all day, just people scraps. Mocha enjoyed her treats immensely.
Wasatch and District
We didn't finish watching the whole parade, as Matt was back at the car and wanted to leave :)

Long day and one pooped puppy.
Our day was not yet done, however. After the parade, we went to Provo to Shawn and Roxanne's where the Hadfield side of the family had a BBQ and was doing fireworks, before heading to the park to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks.
Again, Mocha was a hit with the small children. I was happy with how well she did with them all over her. Poor thing.
Hanging at the park, waiting for fireworks.
We did finally make it home. Once we got out of the subdivision, we even had little traffic to contend with. (Yay for heading up the hill to Orem!) We were all very tuckered out after all of the fun. :)
Devan returned home from his mission to León, Mexico on Monday, July 2nd. Lucky for me, he was scheduled to arrive around 8:45pm, and I got out of work (in Draper) at 8pm. I got to the airport as the rest of the family was arriving. I forgot my camera, so all of my pics were on my phone and not the best, but here are a few of the happy occasion.

Welcome home, Devan! We're excited to have you back!
