Short and Sweet

In the military we have hair regs in uniform. For us girls it has to be up off your collar, which means pull it up or cut it off. Well for the last however long I've just been going with the pull it up, which isn't so bad when you only have to do it once a week. But I started thinking - here in about 6 weeks I'm going to have to start pulling it up everyday for the next 4 years. And really, I'm just not a big fan of the whole bun thing. So I have decided to try the alternative -

Before - How my hair looked as of about 2 weeks ago

Now -
How my hair looks as of yesterday

So far I like it - We'll see how it goes.

Cruisin'

So awhile back my Wingman and I decided we should get the gang together and go on a cruise for spring break. It was a great idea.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Wingman concept, or more specifically, do not know my Wingman - This is Jess Mays. She is awesome and without a doubt the greatest friend I've ever had.

So, now that I've officially talked up my Wingman, back to spring break -

I'm really glad we decided to do this because it was an awesome trip with a lot of good friends and I'm glad I got that time with them before I move out of the country.

We set sail on the Carnival Paradise out of California and headed to Catalina Island where we rode bikes, ate seafood, and just shopped around.

That night was a formal dinner. It was great because it's actually the first formal dinner I've been to with our Air Force guys that we didn't have to wear our uniforms and got to actually dress like girls.

The next day we headed to Ensenada, Mexico. It was way awesome, and thanks to our native speaker, Kirk Smith, we got awesome deals on a lot of stuff.

Me and Echols with our new blankets, and you can't tell in this picture but I'm actually wearing two watches I just bought.

The last day was just spent hanging out on the ship. It was good times all around.

There is so much more I could write about but I feel like I don't want to make this too lengthy, so this will have to do for now.

And So It Begins...

I have finally decided to jump on the blogging train. Now that I'm about to go out and begin life in the real world I can keep you all updated.
To begin, let me tell you about the mass chaos that has ensued in the last 48 hours or so -
Tuesday morning we received our active duty dates. While I was expecting to be leaving sometime this summer, it turned out to be a little sooner than I thought. I will be commissioning 2 May as a 2Lt. 10 short days later, I will be boarding a plane to Maxwell AFB, Alabama (for the second time), and officially moving out of UT. After 6 fun-filled weeks in AL, on about the 27th of June, I will be permanently moving to Ramstein, Germany, where I will be stationed for approximately 3 years.
My mind is basically spinning out of control at this point. So much to do, so little time. I have been making lists left and right of things to do, stuff to buy, people to see, etc. I even went out and bought luggage yesterday. It's all happening so fast. And though I am freaking out a bit I'm also very excited. It's going to be an adventure!

My new (non-black as advised by my Wingman) luggage
