Some things never change...

Remember this post around 36 weeks when we were trying every trick in the book to keep Tiger Lily out of Charlotte's crib?

Well, it's still her favorite napping spot and the only way to keep her out is to shut the door. Today, Charlotte and I were both home sick and I caught Tiger Lily snoozing beside C in the crib. It was one of those moments when you take a picture and THEN fix the problem. ;)

I have a six month old!!

Charlotte weighed in at 16lbs 3oz at her six month appointment. She's 25 inches tall, which puts her in the 20th percentile for height and 50th for weight. She's pretty darn perfect if you ask me. :)

We got the "ok" to start feeding her solid foods so we bought a bunch of organic fruits and veggies to puree. Unlike typical jarred baby food, I would definitely eat everything we made.

Chop:

Steam:

Puree:

Freeze:

Voila: :)

So far, we've only tried sweet potatoes and apples. She didn't really react to the sweet potatoes, but she made some pretty funny faces when she ate apples. Of course, we recorded both. :)

The Troxell Project

I know I haven't posted in forever, but Chris and Charlotte are still asleep and this is more important than working on the laundry like I had planned.

Doug Troxell is a guy on Chris' team who was recently diagnosed with cancer for a second time. He has a wife and two little girls and the doctors are estimating that he only has 12-14 more months with them. This just breaks my heart. I can't even imagine watching Charlotte grow up without her Dad. I can't even think about it. :'(

Doug is an external employee at State Farm, so he doesn't have the same health benefits as we do. His medical bills have left the family in danger of losing their home. The Troxell Project is a fundraiser that's been set up by Exalt Music Group to help relieve the financial burden of the medical bills. There is also a collection being organized by Doug's coworkers and friends to send the family to Disney World while Doug is still healthy enough to go.

Anyway, I'm just sharing this because I can't stop thinking about this family and what they're going through. Please pray for them. Pray that they won't lose their home in the midst of losing their father/husband. Pray that we will be able to help them create some lasting memories that might temporarily distract from their heartbreak. :(

We went on a date...

...not because we needed a break from Charlotte, but because I needed to get used to being away from her before I started back at work the next week. So, we dropped her off with Papa and Nana for a few hours while we went to dinner.

I was watching the clock while we ate, wondering if Charlotte was doing okay. Obviously, she was just fine...taking a nap with Papa.
