Is it true that most audience go for idols?

For concerts , a definite YES!

But what about a Chinese Opera performance?

TW Chunfeng Troupe's upcoming show has already sold out their tickets quite some time ago.

I think the troupe's TOP does play a big part in it. Many are going for Li Peiying and I have TW friends who wouldn't miss any of her shows, big or small.

How did Chunfeng, an amateur troupe, able to have such good results?

No doubt, their hard work, talents and efforts are factors contributing to the success.

What about our local amatuer troupes?

It is difficult to push for ticket sales and if we are able to get slightly more than half the audience, we should be contented.

Even a $2 ticket, some audience wouldn't want to pay.

Because there is no idol image in the troupes? Idol = Many fans?
What is lacking actually?

What are your views?

Anyway, it is a heartwarming news that Chunfeng's box office is a soldout.

Haircut

Went to trim my hair and it turned out to be ......

Mum said, " Look the same leh, not much of a difference."

Brother said, "The back of the hair looks wierd to me but I can't explain why."

Amai winced," I look dumb, don't I?"

FM went too and have a haircut.

The hairdresser only cut here, snipped here and not much of a change in hairdo.

Mum said,"Nice cut yozz, can tell that you had a haircut."

By default, FM is very pretty.

Each time she walks out on the streets, I have heard six million times on such remarks;

"You are so pretty!"

"Nice features, sharp and well-defined."

"Nice big eyes, I think your mum is also very pretty."

Yeah...and there are people who would just look at her and their faces tell you all the "wows", "wows" & "wows".

And there was one who just sat opposite her for dinner and mumbled softly to me...

"It is nice just looking at her."

All these will make me explode with laughter.

So...last night, the hairdresser aunties crooned and said that FM is very pretty.

Well...it is already six million and one times already. (LOL)

I don't think a Singaporean would look like FM...

I mean...there are of course beautiful Singaporean girls just that FM's looks is just not Singaporean yozz.

She has that kind of Japanese Manga looks though she is a Taiwanese. (漫畫中的人物)

However this gal hor likes to conceal her good looks...She is much prettier in person than in the pictures. Oh ya... one thing very different about her, she doesn't like to hear people saying that she is pretty. She would feel ill at ease.

Should 'steal' her glasses away and don't let her cut her hair.

What else huh? (LOL)

Looking Back to my 2008's New Year Resolutions

Extracted from my past blog article;

a) To save $$$
b) To be pink in the health. Cute and bubbly, not to fall sick always
c) To be a TOP in KH. (This is a BIG JOKE. Yet to put it down as a resolution is harmless yozz. You can't be a TOP in KH (Unless I change to a dan, maybe there is a possiblity that I can be the TOP DAN) but you can be a TOP in the audience's hearts. Everyone stands a good chance. ^^)

Let me reflect on them.

a) Only started saving $$$ about 3 months ago. Not much but it is a good start.

b) Still quite a sickly person. Hyperventilated a few times and had some bad cases of sinus infections. Hoping to improve on my health issues.

c) TOP in minor roles maybe but not much of a TOP because there is a 萬能常青TOP in the troupe. I don't think I want to pursue this "TOP" issue to use it as a form of encouragement for me...I think I want to spend more time to treat myself and loved ones better.

Calling to those who used to or acts along with me, you may quickly start to look for a "better opportunitied" stage partner yozz. ;p

I think I want to save more money, read more books, eat, drink & play more.

Chinese Opera takes up too much time.

I still love to watch Chinese Operas but I feel that I don't love my opera the same way like N years ago.

Perhaps that's why I don't wish to spend so much time and effort in it.

ML is always enthusiastics, she would always ask what chinese opera stuff I want when she is in CHN. (She is in Chn now.)

"How about a new scholar hat?"

"No, not interested..."

"How about this and that?"

"Need those for what? No use unless you have important main roles.What for waste money?"

I sounded bad, didn't I?

I am getting old already, I don't have the money, time and energy to fight for what I think should be right and fair issues anymore.

Got money in your savings is good enough yozz. (LOL)

Unexpected Yozz?

Nope, this isn't MK's blog, is Amai's blog.....The gal you see above is MK! (LOL)

XJ smsed me in the afternoon telling me that she was "nuaning" (rotting) at home. She thought initially that I was at home too. I replied telling her that I was going to "la Kopi" with MK.



I went out in the afternoon to get Yang Lihua's authentic DVDs which a TW friend brought. She is here to support Feng Feifei's concert.

After that, MK and I met at Bugis.

Unexpected yozz??

XJ smsed me back;

"MK? Oh. That's unexpected. Ha"

Well...sometimes to jio Khers can be quite "gek sim" because they are always so busy.

YN's busy having gathering with her "long-time-no-c" friends, WMY's MIA for a long time (Have you received my little Christmas Card?), the rest busy busy busy......blah blah blah...一言難盡。。。。。。

Shanice is an exception cuz she was on a long-term study leave from KH and she does her opera on contract basis. (In year 2008, did only One bandit and One laosheng on One Saturday.)

Plus she loves to eat and is fun, good to jio and lives near my work place and FM is the catalyst. (LOL)

Unexpected yozz???

Whoa...we knew each other for years...but we seldom gather together and this was our debut gathering. Previously each time we bumped together, we would smile , say hi and then bye to each other.

Anyway it was a nice afternoon. I thanked MK for her company and she thanked me......

哈哈~~~我們變得客氣起來了~~~ 呵呵~~~

Shanice Our Latest Laosheng

Hahahahaha...yeah...your eyes are not playing tricks on you.

This is Superb Shanice with her moustache.

She came back one fateful day only to realise with a hammer dropped onto her head that she's gonna perform a laosheng role just 2 days from the actual performance.

HM refused to take on this laosheng role because she didn't want to wear the moustache...(A very unacceptable excuse!!!)

Shanice felt more comfortable being a laosheng than a bandit...We all know the reasons...(LOL)

She made everyone laugh that night. Her bandit was really a more "champion" than her laosheng thou the latter also caused people to laugh.



Our Pipa musician, AL, couldn't hold her laughter each time Shanice appeared.

Maybe when the dvd arrives, extract it and post up to...."The most funniest SG clip on Youtube." (LOL)

Should see her bandit...probably the highest essence in that group of 娘子兵。

KOI

This is where Shanice and I usually won't forget to buy milk tea.

After drinking from KOI, in TW known as "五十嵐” ... Er...not sure about the last chinese character...

If you have been to TW, the milk tea there is really gorgeous unlike those in SG.

That was why I hardly want to drink from any local milk tea stalls till a TW friend introduced me KOI at Toa Payoh Central. Another outlet is at Opp. Lucky Chinatown.

It is authentic and nice thou it is very expensive. It costs $2.70 for a regular cup.

However I don't mind paying the extra bit as it is really nice.

Why not try it yourself one of these days?

Kash, A Loner Dog

Look at him, he is always giving this kind of pitiful look whenever he is tied.

He would usually nose his head in because we are in the living room watching TV.

My mum said that Kash is a lonely dog...

"阿狗怕寂寞."

That's what my mum usually would dictate.

A Wierd Dream

I didn't sleep well again because I dreamt.

Nope...not about Gucci.

Something to do with Opera.

I was about to prepare for an opera show. Then I realised that I wasn't performing for my own troupe. It's a Teochew troupe.

Not a main cast... as usual... (LOL)

I was doing my makeup myself but everything turned up to be wrong.

The cosmetics, the colours etc.

What I needed for the make up stuff, wasn't there.

What I was offered was not correct.

I seldom am a messy person when come to Opera especially makeup.

I felt so useless and hopeless with all the wrong stuff around me...and in addition, it is someone's teochew troupe, someone that I knew for a long time and someone that I don't really like because she is damn cocky!

Maybe I talked about her last night with Shanice over the Crab meal.

And somehow she got into my dream or rather nightmare last night. (LOL)

Please lor, just do your opera well which I think she usually does AND stay out of my dreams.

I can't stand you lor... (LOL)

I rather dream of Gucci!!! (LOL)

Shanice told me that she was mad to blog SHJ in the middle of the night.

Romance Of Lihua - The Ending Credits

The ending credits song is very nice.

I like China dans, they are so so graceful and 氣質。

Even Jiangyao ( A Fan-style Xiaosheng) is so graceful and pretty.

Heard her voice the other day when ML called me from Hangzhou.

Jiangyao asked me to go to Hangzhou next time.

I have not seen her for years and her voice is still so crystal clear and strong despite how petite she may look.

Now she hardly acts and most of the time she assists in directing yueju shows.

Ooops...I am selling "Romance of Lihua" vcd in which she acted an honest merchant, Master Qian.

Anyway, Jiangyao's VCD is still for sale!!!

Dad Is In A Happy Mood

Dad is in a happy mood.

I jio-ed him and mum to accompany me to pay my car insurance and road tax.

We went to JW as Mum wanted to do some banking stuff.

Later Dad suggested going to Teban to eat Hainanese Curry Rice.

This was my first time eating Hainanese Curry Rice and it was quite tasty.

Mum was complaining to me when I took her picture. She was telling me that the Bak Kut Tei Stall next to the Hainanese Stall tasted lousy.



After I paid the car insurance and road tax at Martin Rd. I asked Dad whether could he drive us to Balestier Rd because I wanna buy Tao Sau Pia... I expected him to disagree but he agreed readily and even showed me the carpark behind the famous Tao Sau Pia stalls.

Heard from Shanice that this Long Fa has very nice Tao Sau Pias......

It costs a 10cent more than the one Shanice helped me to buy last week.

Mum said that Long Fa's tao sau pias are bigger and they smelt nicer and tasted more delicious.



They look different from the ones that I bought previously. I think these look flatter and have a bigger circumference.



Traditional bread from a traditional Roti Stall. Mum said bought specially for FM to eat.





My next-door-neighbour gave some Korean chocolates and a box of little cute winecups to my Mum.

Mum gave the winecups to me. I find them cute yozz though I don't drink wine.

Looking forward to eating crabs in the evening!

Talking About "Jio"

Saw your reply dearest XJ.

Yeah, you hardly jio me out for fun Usually jio me to rehearse with you.

And that is usually the reason I see you most of the time for this purpose only.

Even to jio you is not easy because you will be as BUSY as a bee...

Working most of the time. This I can understand cuz I won't be able to pay you your high salary.

Sometimes going out with your family which I think is very good and should go because you really need the time to be with your family.

I give up jio-ing you long time ago because you are always hard to jio.

In my earlier post, I don't know most of you people's (referred to those friends whom I know, usu. KHers) time.

So somehow make it quite difficult to jio you out most of the time, I will be waiting to be jio or hoping to be jio.

Sighz......now I am waiting for a promised ice-cream treat... which I have waited for months. (got nothing to do with XJ.)

No ice-cream treat in the end also not a problem...

Just that don't keep me hoping... not because that I am so greedy that I must eat ice-cream...

It is just a little wish to spend time with friends...

I don't think it is too much of a wish, do I?

Me & My Long Champ

That's my Long Champ bag from Europe brought back by Shanice.



I first saw the Long Champ bag in Isetan Orchard. I was first attracted to its collection only to deter away when I saw its price.

One of Shanice's friends advised me to get it from Europe as it cost lot more cheaper.

So Kind Shanice helped me to get a red Long Champ. She has two Long Champ, a red and a brown.

Well, I think Long Champ is quite affordable and of course its price can't be compared to a Gucci.

My mum said that if I strike lottery with lots of cash, then I can consider to buy a Gucci... LOL

Oh ya... you can see fake Long Champs selling in Pasar Malam along with Gucci and LV.

Just one look you can tell the difference.

I didn't bring my Long Champ that day and Shanice brought along hers. The lady selling those imitations gave Shanice the cold shoulder...

I wonder how come they are so BOLD to sell those fakes outrightly in the public?

People really buy them?

What about those Guccis and LVs that I saw at Bugis, I was shocked to see so many young girls using them?

Lots of question marks yozz.

Shanice said that they may not be authentic but how to differentiate because those that I saw really high quality......

Oh ya , many Chinese nationals actually carrying them...

Wow, they seem so much richer than the locals... ???

Pinkie's 1st Meal

My Pinkie's cutie nose.



Isn't Pinkie so so adorable!!!



I started collecting gold coins few months back. I keep my gold coins aside each time I get them from the change. I will remind myself that I am not to spend the gold coins unless I have no choice.

So I put them in this globe which I got if from a vending machine.



Pinkie is hungry and I start to feed it one by one.

Shanice, I think your bear should have already digested around 400 gold coins.

Though Pinkie has not eaten up to 100 gold coins , the amount is very close to it.



Look at Pinkie, not fully fed yet but Amai will persevere.

I shall make sure that Pinkie will finally contain full of gold coins instead of air one of these days.

And then, I shall exchange those coins into dollars and deposit into my "You-Better-Don't-Touch" bank account.

Not bad an idea yozz, at least it is a start to save for rainy days.

Finally They Came

10 minutes later, they arrived......

As if nothing had happened......

I am not as hungry as before......

I think the anticipation and excitement towards the lunch had decreased.

Give me a fine spread now, I probably look away.

Don't ever let yourself go too hungry......

If you do, you just don't feel like eating.

Hungry Christmas Lunch

This is absurd!!!

It is already 2pm and I am yet to eat the Christmas lunch!

My parents asked me to sing some Hokkien songs to keep the guests entertained.

I don't like it cuz I am damn too hungry!!!

The Christmas lunch has not began because we are still waiting for some no-sense-of-punctuality people.

My sis-in-law's sister and her hubby are still MIA.

Her parents and younger brother are already here and imagine my dad wanna me to sing just to keep them entertained!

I am a sore person when I am hungry. I told them straight that I can't sing when I am too hungry and my mum said that I can't sing if I am too full too.

What the heck!

Now is already past 2pm... Just don't waste my Christmas Day away when my Christmas Eve already wasted staying at home and staring up at the ceiling!

Next time, just don't bother to ask me to stay back for Christmas lunch when it is already more than an hour late and the food laid on the table has already turned COLD!

Now I don't even have the mood to snap those pictures on the table.

I think my brothers are fed up too......

Letting other people's stomachs go hungry isn't a good idea!

Shall wait for another 15mins...That couple not going to come, I just leave!

Dreamt Too Much

I know dreaming of Gucci is harmless HOWEVER......

I didn't sleep well last night and I woke up feeling tired...

I think I dreamt too much of Gucci and I don't like this kind of impact on me.

It made u feel tired and my old bones ache quite a bit.

I wonder how many well-fed Pinkies I need in order to trade in for a nice Gucci bag?

A Bear & A Baby Wolf

They just migrated from Korea to SG.

Look at that glum little bear, he's from a bear museum which is a tourist spot in Korea. I wanna go but alas no money to go so my bro and his wife went instead. So envious, they go on hols almost every vacation.

They brought back these two fellas and gave to us.



Amai Grumpy Bear and he's magnetic... FM found out and at least it makes the bear somehow more "usable". (LOL)



Yukame Baby Wolf is a pen holder but it stays permanent to the pen.

Huanhuan, my other brother's gf, got the same Baby wolf too. Hers looks more innocent and Yukame's looks more playful.

Cute right? At least they don't look as gloomy and glummy as my magnetic bear.

I am going to feed my Pinkie with golden coins later.

Too bad I can't show off my Pinkie and place it whereever I like.

Not safe enough so got to lock it up and feed it whenever needed.

Xmas Eve

Saving Is Important

For Nth months I was not able to save a single cent.

To have extra cash is now crucial to me and I have learnt from a lesson.

The day when I needed extra cash, I found out that I was not able to cough up any.

It was hard to go for loans...but I had to when life was concerned.

So I did......

I experienced some pleasant and unpleasant events but I am not going to elaborate.

Of course there are some kind souls who gave me sound advice and help. I appreciate deeply.

A friend urged me to save, irregardless how small the amount may be.

I listened to her and started saving only about 3 months ago.

Not much but it is an effort to save and I am very glad.

Another friend told me saving is for rainy days.

I know how bad those rainy days could turn out to be.

I wouldn't want to go back to those days.

I don't save much cos I have debts to pay but nevertheless I still scrimp to save a little even if it is as low as a $50 buck.

Now I stay at home for meals most of the time.

I must take the effort to pen down my expenses.

Don't use too many credit cards. Control!!!!!!!!!!

I can dream of Gucci but must be level-headed enough not to buy unless there is a good bargain and I can AFFORD with the cash.

Anyway, debts must be cleared first before I can save bigger amount of money.

I probably going to sell my opera stuff again...;P So watch out for any news at my blog. ;P

Recently I am looking at handbags on the streets.

I would nudge and elbow my friends and tell them ...

"This' a LV!"

Nothing's wrong because I am just dreaming...

She is thinking of a LV which costs around a thousand bucks.

Well, it doesn't hurt to dream......

My sis-in-law just gotten a Gucci bag as a birthday gift from my brother.

I think this is her 2nd Gucci and she has Coach and LV bags......

Really.....really rich lor.....

I can only dream about it and it is harmless to dream lor.

Settle my debts first before I can consider a Gucci UNLESS there is a good buy.

Complains Of A Mum

My mum's complaining again.

She said that I have been too busy with KH matters. She doesn't understand why must I spend so much time and life in KH.

Each time I go for a rehearsal or a performance, she would start to nag and once she starts to nag, there is no end to her nagging.

She would carry on for days and even weeks.

She is contented if I just stay at home.

She said that she has not seen me staying at home... It bluff me though. I do stay at home but as long as I don't spend so much time going to KH, she is "harmless".

At home, Mum nags.

At KH, SHE ...... (no words to describe)

Dining with Mum, she is happy as a lark.

Performing & rehearsing, SHE ...... (no words to describe but definitely happy isn't a word to describe.)

Last night, I　can only say - XJ, I feel sorry for you．．．．．．

1st Draft Done!

Finally I have finished my lst draft.

Took me days to prepare for it.

Shall do the next 2 minor sections after my performances.

Payday though......

will feel much more poorer after paying some of my household expenses and bills.

So will be staying at home most of the days cuz staying at home really help me not to spend too much money.

Hope this Saturday's performance, I won't have to pay any parking fee.

(You see, I don't get to claim any taxi fee though I very much want to. Anyway, paying some parking fees do make me feel mad and unjustifiable...I wonder why sometimes certain CCs don't allow free parking for performers? At times when there are limited lots, the musicians' cars always have the priority to free parking. Performers don't even get paid for their efforts. Sometimes I feel even worse than those aunties who turn up once in a blue moon, at least I know one of them got a complimentary ticket!)

Opera Of The East

A friend introduced me a CD which she had listened to online - Opera Of The East which was just launched last month.

The all female choir sang chinese oldies and some genres of operas in a different way.

I am going to look for the CD and I am not sure whether I can find in Singapore.

Now having a headache and I need to go KH later.

The "8 Dieties" is still in a mess, need some shaping up.

Hope my headache goes away ASAP!

Very Tired

Just came home from rehearsal...

The atmosphere is rather tense because our performance is next week.

Our 8 Dieties still need some shaping up and tomorrow we have to go back for additional practice. This time the dancers will have to join us and then the full cast will meet on stage next Sunday.

So so so tired... and not much of updates from other blogs. The most frequent updater is now somewhere in Europe... Probably sight-seeing while we all sleep...(LOL)

Don't Badger Me!!! Wahahaha!!!

This happened to me some time ago, now I wanna dump some "rubbish" away here.

I used to copy all pictures wholesale, be it good or bad, because it was a "request".

Till that one day, I received some really disgusting smses that pissed me off.

So from then onwards, I shall scrutinise all pictures and delete all the not nice and blurry pictures. I shall also delete most of my pictures be it the good or bad ones. The other pictures not concerning me will be left UNTOUCHED and PRESERVED.

Guess my pictures kind of irritating to some and I got questioned just because I have slightly more pictures.

So now, I DELECTED most of my pictures...

Now the whole world is happy yozz. (Wahaha)

As long as no more sarcastic smses to badger me...you win liao lor... (LOL)
