San Diego/Valentine's Day

Well all of my pictures posted in reverse order, so I guess this will be a 'rewind' review.

Our last evening there we walked around the harbor to take in the sea breeze. This Carnival ship was about to shove off, so we waited for the official send off. I confess, we were jealous. So very very jealous.

Love the reflection in this shot. This is kind of what we decided to 'collect' during our travels. Our goal is to get a skyline shot of each city we're in so we can frame it and add it to our wall.
Thought this was bird was feeding it's young. Nope....2 seconds later and they had moved on to a higher level of public indecency.
I can't believe how young Jon looks in this shot. Like he's in his early 20s again! He is so at home by the ocean.
Pondering the deeper things in life...

Ommmmmmmmmmmm.
Kick back, relax. Just don't slip off.
Centering my chi.
I loved how the palm trees lined up with the buildings.
After we left the rugby matches Sunday we were walking back to the car and I was pointing out all of the awesome places I would love to use as backdrops for pictures. Even though I only had our little point and shoot camera, we decided to play around for a little bit at this fun little building.

This is PetCo park where the matches were held. We got hooked up with VIP tickets in the USA Rugby Suite and had such a great time getting to know all the big wigs on the Board of Trustees with USA Rugby and the International Rugby Board. Jon was in his element with all of the amazing business men and women we met and I was so happy to be a part of it and watch Jon interact and perform at the top of his game. I really am so proud of him. He has worked so hard to get where he is today and so rightly deserves all of the success that comes to him.

They had these funny cutouts there and we just couldn't resist the opportunity to be with the All Blacks. :)
One of the first matches we saw was South Africa vs New Zealand. I had to take some shots for my brother-in-law Shane. Jon and I had so much fun this year that we want to make this a yearly trip with our fun friends and family who love rugby and would love this event.

The thing I love about this picture is that the guy being lifted looks like he's in a diaper. How can that be comfortable?!?!
One view from our box.
SA vs NZ

We had such a great weekend. I think we figured out that this might be only the 2nd trip we've taken since our honeymoon where it has been just us. We're fortunate to have such great friends and family we travel with, but it was nice to be on our own. I love you Jon! You show me how to work hard and how to play even harder. xoxo.

Monthly update

So I guess it's time for another update. I guess I've become a little disenfranchised with blogging lately. I'm on facebook now and that seems to require less of my time so blogging gets pushed back.

Right now I'm applying for a job at a local middle school here. It's one of the schools that feeds into Bingham, so I kind of already have an in. But it's really scary to be moving on to this next step. I'm not sure I'm ready for a career...gulp. It sounds so daunting to me. I'm excited it's at a middle school though, as I hear you get more one on one time actually counseling students. I'm going to miss my sophomores I've been tracking though. I feel bad just dogging out on them (*this is all speculation that I'll actually get the job) when I've put so much into building a relationship with them. But with this crazy economy I have to get my foot in the door as soon as I can. So wish me luck!

Jon and I are heading to San Diego for Valentine's Day. I've been giving him a hard time cause we're actually going for a Rugby tournament, not Valentine's Day, but it's still a mini-vacation to a warm destination, so I'll take it! But hey, it's nice that the holiday falls at the same time so we can use it as an excuse to get away...after all, nothing says romance like watching a bunch of sweaty guys in short shorts tackle each other. I'm so excited to go though and get some nice sunshine in me. I love when we get to take little weekend getaways together. It always strengthens our relationship.

Uh, what else? Nothing really. Just staying busy with school and church stuff, same with Jon. He's excited to get back on his bikes when the weather warms up. Oh, and recently he lost some lbs. and is lookin sooo hot! :) I'm very proud of all of his hard work. We got called to be a Ma and Pa for Trek this summer so he's doing really well to get to the gym every day and I'm trying just to make it there once a week, more like once a month! :) So we're excited for that.

Also, I had a fabulous time in New Hampshire (minus the HORRIBLE ordeal trying to get home) with my mom and sisters and the two munchkins. I love them so much and wish we all lived closer. Miss you all!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
