My heart hurts

I found out earlier this week that my cousin took his own life and my heart is so so sad. Sad for him. Sad for his family. Sad for what more I could or should have done. I realize how much I took that relationship for granted and only wish I had taken more time to really get to know him. But how grateful I am for the knowledge I have of the Gospel and the possibility for eternal life. I am so grateful for Jon and his unending support and love. I am grateful for my parents who also love and support me and who allowed me to learn and grow on my own while setting firm boundaries and setting good examples by living gospel principles.

To my family, I love you all! Thank you for banding together during this difficult time and for supporting one another. We really are so lucky.

Curt, I love you so much. You left us too early. I hope you have found peace and a welcoming resting place. Until we meet again...

Some serious catchin' up!

Where do I even start? Our summer has been jam packed (just like everyone else's has) and we have had a great time! Here's what we've been up to:

Girl's camp. Oh the joyful memories!!! I had a blast, but it was kinda weird to not be there as a young women, but as the responsible adult. :) Well, semi-responsible. I love these girls! They were so awesome and got along perfectly. It was a stake camp this year and we kept hearing stories about girls in other wards having huge fights and all sorts of drama. I'm so proud of our girls for how they love and include everyone!

Jon participated in the Xango Echo Triathlon again this year. He did so awesome and shaved some good time off of last year's results. I guess that's what having a healed Achilles and calf muscle will do for ya, huh? Great job babe!

Jon also ran in the Wasatch Back relay that starts in Logan and ends in Park City. He was awesome again and such a good sport. He was glad Wade was on the team with him to help keep his sanity through that sleepless night. :) Way to go rock star Jon!

Over the 4th of July we got to go to St. George again. This time it was for Jeremy and Michelle's sealing. We were so privileged to be there and it was just so awesome. Their little Easton kept asking for Boots and Dora over the alter. Pretty funny! We just want Jeremy and Michelle to know how much we love them and are so proud of all they have done to get here. Way to go! Michelle was kind enough to ask me to snap a few pics of them after the ceremony. It was such a beautiful day for them.

While we were down there I also got to take family pictures for Michelle's family. They were so funny and photogenic. I loved working with the kids, especially these 3 little boys. They pulled the funnies faces!

I also got to take some pictures last month for my friend Jessica. She has started her own business, Every Little Detail, and I got to shoot a few pics with her little models. They were so cute! I'll post pics of them soon. :)

So that's my monthly post. We're off to Alaska tomorrow and I can't wait! Hopefully I'll have some amazing pics to share!

Oh, and one more small tidbit of news. Jon was nominated and voted in as the Utah Rugby Union President this month. He's done so great with it and has already raised an extra $14,000 for the Union. I know, he's really a rock star. Also, I began my internship at Bingham High School this week. I am so excited to get into the program and start working with the students!

Oh, and Jon buzzed his head. I was so against it, until I saw it! It's so hot. He kinda reminds me of Beckham a little. :)

See ya in a few weeks!
